  2. Yeah, there is some invisible view lod for that technical. I can't say I've noticed anything indicating the view distance stuff would be reverted though.
  3. Well, if there are billboards in the towns anyway I'm sure it should be possible to find some companies that'd want to market products that'd be likely to find in Takistan. In-game commercials do not have to be intrusive. It's all in the implementation :)

  5. HK416s are being converted from ArmA1 still afaik. I don't think HK417 will make it into ACE2, but since they officially only are used by police departments in USA and not the military it's no surprise (HK416 is used by Deltas and USSOCOM though). The SCAR models have been sold (?) and thus won't be included. SCARs will come in OA though, so just hold your breath ;)

  8. Once you have set it up once it's super-easy to use. Then you simply run the SIX updater, selection option #2, let it run, and it's done. No need for further input or anything.

  11. Well, even if (which I assume) an initial download package is issued they'll have trouble staying up to date without the tool ;) Can't blame you for that. Always people practically expecting customer service over the phone, instead of taking ten minutes to read the instructions. ^^
  12. Because of much bigger download packages, which makes bandwidth-issues more apparant, not to mention the problems of actually packing and distributing the stuff manually, which will have to be done several times a day to achieve the same that this updater tool does ;)
  13. Nopes. Just if you aren't sure you are up to date, and want to run the updater tool first.
  14. No, it just means that if you have already have for example a @CBA folder in your ArmA 2 install dir, then the SIX updater won't download a new one, even if your already installed one is not up to date.

    Yeah, same to me. But as you said they already carry Interptor, so I dunno what good a flak vest/jacket would be over that ^^

    Have you tried resetting your keybinds to default? Looks like some messed up controller, be it keyboard or joystick or something.

    Weapon Balance

    "Balance through unbalance." Different weapons will encourage different styles of play, but will also have to be taken in mind by the mission (since OPFOR probably won't have advantage in numbers they need to be able to get closer through concealment to get their AKs in range). And just remove the lol-ACOG and stuff from the weapons and the BLUFOR will have a harder time as well, since they too are limited to ironsights, making long range accuracy (seeing impact points and stuff) quite a lot harder.

    That would be nice indeed. Pin 'em down with PKs and SVDs at 500 meters, pin 'em down even more with RPKs at 300 meters, and finish them off with AKs and hand grenades up close :)

    UPDATE! v1.2 RELEASED! Download here Changelog: v1.2 (2009-12-06): - Changed: Empty tubes are now locally created objects on all machines and are not retroactively created on JIP clients. This is all to reduce net traffic and improve overall performance. This is a bit of an experiment. Don't expect any magic performance increase unless you play Warfare or something with a lot of M136s/RPG18s being shot and having a lot of empty tubes lying around that get hit by occassional explosions. Most notably it should cause less desync when JIP players connect, as well as shorter connection time for the JIP player himself. And no specific CAA1-support yet, I'm afraid. I have also been notified of compatability problems with the Bundeswehr mod and the mercenary units in the Desert Mercs mod (terrorists and US Army works fine), which seem to stem from those specific units not having any support for extended eventhandlers, but instead using BIS's default eventhandlers. Respective authors have been contacted and I hope we can see fixes soon :)
  25. You could give the group a BLUFOR leader at mission start, and set his probably of presence to zero, but mid-mission I'm not entirely sure how to do it.
