    http://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/buergerkrieg-in-syrien-assad-offiziere-draengten-auf-angriffe-mit-giftgas-1.1765086 Ok basicly this article (from a conservative newspaper) says that the German spy ship "Oker" intercepted radio calls from syrian officers in which they requested since a period of 4 months to use nerve gas in an attack, but were always denied by the presidential palace. The german intelligence (BND) also says that they think assad will be still in place and power following air strikes, which is also my assumption (air strikes without a contingency plan... yeah, wonder who was such intelligent to come up with that). Furthermore the BND says that the FSA has lost it's military supremecy, de facto they wouldn't exist anymore. On the contrary al Quaida influence was rising, leading to dramatic changes. They say there are next to none deserters from the syrian army anymore as most deserters would instantly get shot by the rebel forces. ---------- With all this info, it seems that IF any nerve gas strike was done by the syrian army it truly was not connected to Assad. Why should syria be judged any different than other states, including the USA? If war crimes were committed, the USA convicted the ones directly responsible for the attacks (if it even came to that) and clearly Assad is not the culprit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_war_crimes Also interesting to read the developtment of the rebel forces.     Listening to "various leaders" is a pretty bad advice considering one of that leaders told us that there were WMDs in Iraq or he told the world that the Iraq War was officially over, celebrating at an aircraft carrier a decade ago. There's various more examples. So you're defending this "punishment" strategy? What good will it cause other than destroying some buildings and possibly igniting the conflict even more? Clearly, this not a strategy.   3. That would not be possible, as the female faces would also need another skeleton and thus not be compatible to men models. Leads to instant crash. In the past (A2, OA) the female heads even were part of the female model itself. There were head files, but they were 4kb dummy files which I found out in disappointment back then. Hmm what mood mesh do you mean?

    Just giving a little insight on "Der Spiegel" as a reader of the online magazine during the years. The Spiegel has been supportive of the war/strikes right from the start, even when the US didn't mention their "evidence" yet. When GB backed down you could literally read the disappointment in the articles. I wouldn't exactly call them objective. -------------- As for the facts: What I'm missing is hard evidence. If the evidence is as distinct, why is not presented to the general public? Why don't we atleast wait for the UNO to release their findings? Is that 3 paged "Intelligence report" all we'll see? It contained alot of "ifs" and assumptions. And say, Assad really was the culprit. What would airstrikes accomplish? The weapons would still be in syria. There would still be a war in syria. Just not Assad vs. Rebels but a new combination: Rebels vs. Islamists vs. Kurds. It's not like once the regime is gone all the groups will lay down their weapons and they'll start a new shiny democratic process. And with Assad gone there's even more chance of Al Nusra or other islamists to pick up some weapons, maybe also some nerve gas. If there was truly an interest in securing the gas, the US would need to send in ground troops.
  5. @All Thanks, yep I'm glad you guys like it and it is helping some people. :) No problem at all, these screens are really great. Do you mind if I add them into the first post? Wow that's some nice work, guess it was done in max and imported? Looks way better. Yeah there's two heads as twp said. Childs are technically possible, but you'd need to create new animations which is quite a large undertaking for any humanoid model. For childs you could probably narrow it down to walking and running to lessen the workload. They're not rigged in any way though and would need scale adjustments. Before you load up the makehuman model, you should add the european skin by going to library -> skin -> check for updates. Yep I disabled the shadow lods from the female model which were arma3 example file shadow models adjusted a little. The adjusted models are in the edit 0.000 / 10.000 lod. Shadow lods are kinda quirky, atleast to me.

    Performance problems

    I actually have the same problem and I'm somewhat disappointed. Loading times are even more awesome than in the Alpha (WTF - Altis loads up in 8 seconds) but MP is pretty "meh, meh...". I joined several "Invade & Annex" aka. rebranded Domination servers yesterday and I had 15-25fps at 1600m VD. I don't feel like playing MP with such a bad performance. All graphic details were at standard with 2x AA and disabled SSAO. SP and editor missions work fine. My setup is not a 2000€ extreme gam0r system but it still packs a punch: Maybe its also bad mission design? @blue1 Thanks, will try out your server.

    That's doing it the wrong way. You should expect that all content that has been created for the Alpha may break in the Beta or later. I doubt the Armaholic mods have the time to go to all alpha content and test it for compability.

  10. Luckily I've never been shot but this soldiers seems not to comply with the "a shot will not make you fall" science. In this video afaik (according to an documentary on this case) he was hit directly where a ballistic plate was under. I think there's too many factors to include proper "falling down" so I kinda like the current reaction to bullets. Compared to ArmA2 the system is allready better, as you only had blood as a visual reference of a shot. Now the body twitches a little.
  11. Hey, here's the first release of my post-apocalyptic units for A3. This package contains the Seeker Faction. I created these units for A2 some time ago but never finished/released them. These people have spent alot of time in the wastes and use simple hand-crafted weapons like bows and improvised weapons made of old, pre-war equipment.     How do i get a refund?

    The game is working for alot of people. Maybe the "error" resides on another side ("layer 8 problem"). If in doubt, state what the actual error and what your hardware setup is, what patches you did install, if you're using steam or a dvd... Your post is missing like 95% of the info normally required by a first level supporter. Other than that, good luck with the refund idea.

    Well the cheap way would be to release the proper rigged 3dsmax or Maja skeleton so all the other ordinary mortals could animate keyframes without hassle but I doubt BIS will ever do that - sadly.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    There was a mod for OFP that did this nicely, dunno about flying attacks though. But the raptors and others got really dangerous. The amount of work for creating a custom model is hard since you have create new RTMs (animation files). Flying ones would be more easy to make since you'd require less anims but they'd have to be properly scripted for melee attacks. Best chance of getting dinos ingame would be if sb. of the original crew was still around and he would give permissions to modders to use their files. Even if the models would be scrapped and new ones created (higher polycount), one could still make use of the allready created RTMs. Closest I got was this, just no dino:
  15. @Jones Looks like some nice vehicles you are building there :) . I know you said in the entry post you wouldn't work on characters - I worked on some cheap scifi soldiers using a opfor retexture, custom helmet and a weapon from blendswap some time ago. They need some adjustments though (custom hand anims, other retex sets, scope setup..).     I once got the "all black" bug, all reflective objects (e.g. soldiers, vehicles, some walls) were painted pure black. Even the rabbits, was quite funny :) . Your "feature" looks interesting too.

    Love your progress here :) . Btw. , Ruppert as I saw you were also trying the AT-AT, I'd start the first stage with "just" the infantry. Big projects such as a nicely working walker might wear you down, atleast that's what I experienced in the past. A mod can always be expanded, and a first infantry pack would be a good basis to start with.

    Yeah you'll have to edit or create new entries in class Cloudlets (replacing would be easier since you don't have to create new explosion classes then). E.g. that's how I created my musket smoke cloudlets. This thread should go to ARMA 3 - ALPHA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting though.

    See this: The main limitation for motherships is the geo size limit of ArmA2/3. Objects can't be larger than 64m, so you'd have to split motherships / space stations into several objects. Also this should go into the addon requests thread...

    Sounds good, also nice that you're looking into stats saving. Back then in A1 I had alot of time so starting over didn't annoy me as much, but now it's keeping me from trying out any "life" missions. Thanks alot for keeping this opensource, back in A1/A2 the only life mission that had stats saving disallowed others using their system or hosting their mission. This was pretty limiting. Some more ideas: Hunting Hunt Rabbits (maybe also snakes ?) Speeding Cameras Cops could setup cameras to catch speeding people - this would also give the cops some less lethal objectives Car Theft Stolen cars can be sold at several dealer points (not just one so it's harder for cops to camp the spots), cops can also check the license plates/ID of a vehicle (which get randomly created at spawn of a vehicle) In general I think there should be alot more "casual" jobs/work for the cops so they have less ambition to run on a killing spree (which I experienced).

    Is there also a ticket for increased geometry / roadway LOD yet? Guess this would also ease the development of large ships. The 64m limit is pretty annoying and around since OFP.

  24. Good to see my tutorial helps somebody, for the weighting you could also do this in Max as but I wouldn't know how to it. Bad Benson suggested it and it should be less clunky than weighting in O2.
