  1. I was getting strange readings (, Mr. Spock!) on the dpclat check. It averaged 300 us idle, with a peak of 360.

    ... I closed down teamspeak, and it dropped to 5 us average with a peak of 60.

    GTX 275

    .. I take it this data is okay?

  2. Try the same thing with your Terrain Detail at Very Low (basically, disable the clutter grass). Known fact that the AI sees right through it, so a lot of the "AI shot me through a bush!" is a direct result of this.

    Exactly.

    In fact, players can do the exact same thing, because the grass disappears at a certain distance. Someone lying in thick grass at 500 meters is at a huge disadvantage, because he'll think he's in concealment, but he would in fact be in the wide open to the other. While it doesn't look as pretty, I set the terrain detail to very low in my missions for a reason.

  3. As per OP standard, everything normal, fillrate 100%, 1680x1050x32.

    5: 21.8608

    I decided to change something..

    E6750 is now at 3.2 GHz

    Memory is now at 800 MHz

    .. That's a big difference.

  4. You could just make a tiny little script that does it for you..

    while {true} do
    {
    "respawn_west" setmarkerpos (getpos Guy);
           sleep 5;
    };

    Or you could replace "true" with a variable, like one that checks whether the LAV-25 is still alive (you don't want the script to keep looping if it has no effect), because right now it will loop forever.

    It will update every 5 seconds.

    Edit: Might as well throw this in the editing section.

  5. I really want to know if there's a better solution than reassigning all the tasks and checking whether they have been succeeded, failed or neither. That would be horribly tedious.

    Why are the tasks lost anyway? Is this a bug? Like der.hannes, I cannot recall this behaviour in ArmA1 (or OFP).

    Edit: Actually reassigning the tasks doesn't even work. A task was supposed to be added to my log at a certain point in my mission, but as I had died/respawned the task tab wasn't added back, nor was the briefing entry added. The marker for the objective was added, however.

    I'll check the bugtracker if it has been added already, and if not, I will.

    Edit 2:

  6. Make a marker for your side:

    respawn_west

    respawn_east

    respawn_guer

    etc.

    In the description.ext , put down "Respawn = base;" ( I assume you want base respawn judging from your thread title)

    and "respawndelay = 10;" .. whereas 10 is obviously the number of seconds you have to wait before you respawn.

    so:

    respawndelay = 10;
    respawn = base;

    That's it.

  8. Do we have possibility to change the direction of the attached vehicle? Could allow some interresting towing effects.

    Plenty of other threads with attachTo examples (like the 3 page thread here).

    Use setDir to change the direction of the vehicle. If you're using this in multiplayer, add another line "myObj setPos getPos myObj" to sync with every client, otherwise setDir will be local and not do anything (useful). setDir is linked to the vehicle you're going to attach it to. So if you use setDir 180, it won't actually point south, but point towards the rear of the vehicle (which is excellent).

  9. You see, you could do something sensible like having guys sit on APCs and have them drop off at the objective.

    OR.. you could attach guys to cows and have a cow jousting game. Or place a helicopter inside a frigate and put howitzers on the deck of the frigate and have a big flying frigate PvP. Or stick a .50 cal machinegun to the head of a soldier and have a mobile MG that can go up ladders and stairs!

    The possibilities are endless.

  10. Please explain why any discussion relating to Iraq has to "benefit the Coalition forces and those that have been taken hostage..." rock.gif

    EDIT:

    Quote[/b] ]I guess you could just shut your mouth about the typo now.

    There ya go crossing the rules again. You won't be around long enough for me to correct a second time I'm afraid. sad_o.gif

    Oh, obviously I should have said 'Please stop referring to the typo I made a few posts above, because it has no relevance to the topic and discussion'.

    Instead of getting the message... sad_o.gif

    Edit: I was feeling a bit depressed, with a lot of work to do tomorrow, but after actually being involved in such a discussion I'm happy again.

    Thanks guys biggrin_o.gif

  11. Maybe you should read the forum rules before you spit your venom here.

    My venom? Venom?

    I guess my opinion is venom in your eyes, but you could also say, in a proper way, that you disagree with me.

    But anyway, enough with the piss-stick, please explain to me why posting here would be beneficial to the Coalition forces and those that have been taken hostage by Iraqis, and so on.

    And why is it that when I agree with Bob, and Terox for that matter, I get directed to the rules? Is it because of the amount of posts I have? My registration date?

    Edit:

    Quote[/b] ]You seem to lack basic English skills. Why would you add an extra word when you just needed a 'k'? rock.gif It seems you unrightfully added an extra word.

    I guess you could just shut your mouth about the typo now. The 'joke' has been made, and I edited my post before you 'corrected' me. And I don't think I 'lack basic English skills'.

    Quote[/b] ]Someone who joined 2 years ago and just made their first post is quite suspicious

    2005 - 2004 = How much again? Oh, I guess the joke's on me now.

  12. Reported all 3 posts to the mods. Not the right place, not the right words and obviously a lack of basic education.

    Edit: Or Baron again ?

    Wait, you're reporting all these 3 posts to the mods because we don't agree with you? So if we agree with someone who disagrees, we're not allowed to take part in this FREE DISCUSSION anymore?

    At least I wasn't flaming someone until someone unrightfully corrected my sentence. Which he didn't correct properly anyway.

    Edit:

    Quote[/b] ]'Now' was spelt correctly alright. Too bad your context structure needed 'know.' But obviously you don't know that.

    Well, here I see the relevance of! It obviously contributes to this discussion. Oh, no, wait, it doesn't. Should I report this post too?

  13. Quote[/b] ]

    At least the church will Know something about defending factories with flak guns!

    Obviously you didn't even notice it wasn't a typo, I just forgot the word 'Know'. The word 'Now' was spelt correctly, although I doubt you would understand that.

    And I don't play CS.

    If you really wanted to help the soldiers, well.. do something instead of posting in an utter useless thread.

  14. At least the church will now know something about defending factories with flak guns!

    Yaay.

    I guess discussing, or whatever you people are doing in this thread, is really going to help the poor and battered soldiers in Iraq! Terox is absolutely right.

    Now it's up to you to find the sarcasm in, and the obvious relevance of, this post.
