Hi all, I'm IceFire. A few days ago someone made a thread about problems they were having with Kazaa. Someone suggested they download some evil piece of shit called Kazaa lite due to the lack of spyware or something like that. I then proceeded to download kazaa light (WHICH I WILL NEVER GO NEAR AGAIN) I started to install. At which point my everything switched back to my desktop, and everything went haywire. Since then I have put in considerable amount of time and effort trying to fix what seemed to be an unsolvable problem. By harddrive had completely shut down. I could do NOTHING. I couln't access the start menu. I couln't access any desktop icons. I would click on them, to no effect. The only damned thing I could do was click on my background and click on properties. Whenever I tried ANYTHING, it said something like "your security settings do not allow to run anything using ActiveX software, etc.. therefore the following page will have errors" And still, nothing ever came up. I thought I lost my entire harddrive. I almost did. I finally hopelessly figured that I would have to completely reformat my harddrive. That would have meant losing EVERYTHING. Everything that I have stored on my comp since a LONG time. All my saved recieved emails from my girlfriends from highschool and various universities. Saved emails from my father, which is my only form of communications with him, all my unfinished OPF missions that I made while still trying to learn to use the OPF editor. Pics of buddies I probably wont see again for maybe another 3-4 years. Etc ... I almost thought I had no choice but the reformatt my harddrive. Luckily I had lost my main Compaq windows reformatting disk. Or else I would have done it. I called the compaq company, spent 59 bucks to put my comp back under warranty so that they could then proceed to give me technical advise and walk me through on fixing my comp. He made me find a floppy disk, erase everything on it. Made me go into control panel, make me do some other complicated stuff. Finally after typing and clicking alot of things, he walked me through on resetting my computer to some exact date before I tried to download Kazaa lite. There was the bluescreen when I reset my comp to some date. ... All you computer people prolly know what he told me to do better than I do... Anyways, now is the first time I could even do anything on my comp. And for somereason I needed to complain. You computer people need to be careful about what advise you give people. These computers can be very complicated things to neanderthal luddites like me.

Hi, I'm IceFire. I have a normal white mouse with 2 buttons and a mouse wheel in the middle. For all the time that I have been playing OPF, I've had it so that I would use my right mouse button to fire, and my left mouse button would fire too. Basically do the same thing. I had to use my key pad enter to switch to iron sights. Now I want to change it so that my left mouse button will make me switch to weapon view. I tried to do this when I first got the game, and I couln't figure out how to do it. But then I didn't have the advantage of an OPF forum. Thanks IceFire

Hmm, I downloaded it from the link Avon Lady put up in that "Kazaa" thread someone put up a few days ago.

So basically I am shit outta luck??? Aww damn!!! Damn!!! That just sucks!!! I use space for zoom in, and the little button to the left of my backspace for reveal target. Numpad enter for iron sights/weapon view. I have been using it like this all since been playing OPF. Now I wanna change it cause I been playing AmericasArmy. Fuck this is shitty. Help please. Anyone??

Hi all, I downloaded the shareware rogerwilco today and got some wierd messages when trying to install it. When I went into the installation process, it said "admin required to adjust settings, login as admin". The strange thing is I think that I am logged in as Admin. After all, this is MY comp. If not, then what do I do? How do I loggin as admin? It never even asks me to logging when I turn on the comp, except for this one screen that my friend set up for me like a year ago. But this screen comes up before windows starts up. It's like in dos format or something. I bought my comp from compaq and it is pretty much the same as right out of the box. Can anyone help me? BTW, I lost my hard drive formatting CD's and manuals.

Yeah, when I first had OPF CWC, it didn't work. Now that I have OPF GOTY edition, it still doesn't work. There must be an option somewhere to fix this somehow.

Ok, I tried that and it still says the same damn thing. Even when I am logged in as Administrator. I downloaded the shareware version of Roger Wilco from the website; //rogerwilco.gamespy.com Click on downloads on the main page, then install the shareware version at the bottom of the page. When installing it is when it says that. After you have completed the second page of user info. Any ideas? Thanks

Ok I tried it. It didn't work. It made it so that my "Optics" slot was something else. "stick" something. Any ideas?

...Backup file .. Huh??? I'm sorry but I am computer illiterate, and I wouln't want to ruin my game. Maybe you could explain it a little bit? Could you try it and tell me if it works? Err...

Basically I clicked on the "Optics", "Iron sights" selection in the controls settings, and then clicked my left mouse button, but nothing comes up. It stays blank. Try it, see that it won't work.

I tried and failed doing that. I dunno. I figure I am probably missing something.

I've had this idea in my head for a while about a second type of "hold fire" order for your men. It would be a Hold fire unless COMPROMISED order. Basically the "hold fire" command would work just as normally except for that if an enemy soldier notices, or fires at your soldier, your soldier will engage that specific soldier. As for the enemy firing on your soldier, that is pretty self explanitory. But if it is obvious that the enemy/enemies have seen/spotted your soldier, (ie; they target your soldier, go prone, etc) that will do also (as long as your soldier sees them do that) If only one enemy soldier out of several see's your soldier, you soldier will only engage that soldier. Once that enemy soldier is dead, your soldier will continue holding fire as normal. If other enemy soldiers take notice too due to the gun fire, your soldier will engage them too accordingly. This would be VERY useful for when you send in a small team to do a task stealthy like and you don't want to have to watch them the whole time covering them ... etc. Great for Spec Op missions where you need indivial Black Ops to go in and do something away from you .. real stealth like. What do you say? Maybe BIS might incorporate this idea in a future patch? Tell me what you think.

Hi all, I just reposted over here cause that mean ol denoir made me. Anyways I just reinstalled OPF GOTY edition and was playing with version 1.85. I noticed the game wasn't running that great. Â I had to turn down the view distance to 1000 yards. Â And it would run just slightly more choppy. Â Just barely noticable. Â Does this have something to do with not using the 1.90 patch? If I install 1.90 will it start running better? If not, then how can I maximize the performance of OFP? Thanks IceFire By the way, I just got a cable modem and it seems to be running really fast. Nope, I believe that when your troops are in "stealth" mode, they will still engage targets if they see them and are close enough. And personally, I wouln't send them into enemy territory on their own without putting them in stealth mode in the first place.

Â It would be nice to have a command that made them fire only at those who compromised them automatically instead of having to quickly hit the "all openfire" buttons and risk having them kill everyone or get killed. Plus, when you have BlackOps in stealth mode in real close to the enemy inside their base at night, they NEED to react FAST. Â Pretty much automatically. Â And only for the right targets. Â The ones that saw them.

Cool, so like how fast would OPF run if I got like 500 RAMs? For only like $40, that's not bad. Hmm, is it hard to install?
