  1. Operation Werewolf has been progressing very well with us just completing our fourth part (to secure a dam on the map of Namalsk). We have been deploying a full platoon to the field each week (three full sections, an HQ/WSG group and 1FLT (normally two fully manned helo's)) for the operations and moving as a real platoon would in the field. You can see an example of what we've been doing in the two videos below. As always, if you're interested in finding out more information about the 16 Air Assault Brigade, please visit our website at www.16AA.net yv5_67Phk_U __ltgtuOqWAwA
  2. While the MSO operation didn't work (when we had sixty+ people on the server it seemed to have a fit) we haven't given up on it and we are, in conjunction with Volcbat, updating the system (based on the latest MSO updates) to allow us to continue with the op. ---------------------------- While that is in progress, we've dived into a new operation called "Operation Werewolf" based on the Namalsk map. The operation has been designed as a set of Air Assault missions using all of the infantry and flight training and experience that we've gained over the past few months in a gritty and realistic setting. Tonight will the first of eight parts and we have 35 people signed up for the kickoff tonight - meaning we'll have a full infantry platoon deployed on the ground with two airframes up from the AAC for Insertion, CAS and CASEVACs as needed. There are large group level operations each Wednesday and Sunday which normally see 30+ people attending. ---------------------------- If the above looks like something you'd be interested in please do check out the new "Joining the 16AA" section on our website.

16 Air Assault Brigade - ReBorn

Introduction: Another quick update, each week we're running two company wide sessions (on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, starting at 1900Z (GMT)) - I've included a bit of information about that below... in addition to that, we also have a few vacancies open at the moment. Wednesday Training : The first of the sessions is a training day where we pick out one area and, with the real life experience of a number of our members, train up in certain areas (more on that below). Over the last few weeks we've been concentrating on training up section attacks (for the infantry lads) and then having a few training games using the BAF BFAs (Blank Fire Attachments) as training sessions against each other in "PVP vs Exercises". We have, in the past, gone through comms, navigation, FIBUA (Fighting in Built Up Areas) and a load of other training items. The next part we're looking at is FIBUA in more depth in sections, assaulting locations, movement and securing buildings. 1 Flight also do training throughout the week, with a set aside session on Monday evenings as a group. Sunday Operations and Exercises : The Sunday session is normally an operation or exercise, whereby we deploy at one of our pre-made camps on a range of maps then insert into an area with the use of 1 Flight. The missions are very varied, but built for realistic game play, both with the number of enemy units and also the taskings. Below is an example of the OPORD that is issued before a mission - the orders are then cascaded through the sections for individual orders. Example OPORD : Summary : We're going to be conducting an Operation Wednesday night with a few real-life insurgents mixed in with the normal civilian population, this is to make the exercise more realistic. Below are the orders - CPL Miller see me regarding LZ/Extraction locations prior to assembly. Everyone else, please indicate whether you will be attending above. ---- Operation Orders TASK ORGANIZATION I. SITUATION A. Enemy Forces: Small numbers of insurgents. Weather: - Sunny and clear. Terrain: The town is located on small hills inside a North/South bearing valley - mountains are on either side. B. Friendly Forces: 2UP Intent: 1UP Intent: Secure Town and search buildings for evidence of Insurgents - find a suitable location for a FOB in the future. Units: A Coy. 1 PLT. 1SEC and 2SEC C. Attachments: 1FLT (Transport and CASEVAC) II. MISSION Who: All sections will move into transport from Camp Oscar What: will conduct a sweep and clear operation to secure the village. Phase III: Begin our patrol towards FERUZ-ABAD Phase IV: On reaching the outskirts of the town, set up an OP and decide the best approach to the town. Phase V: Move into the town, clearing buildings as we move - secure the town. Phase VI: Identify a likely location for a FOB. Phase VII: Move to LZ November for extraction. B. Task to Manoeuvre Units: 1SEC will be the lead element on this Operation. 2 SEC will follow 1SEC. 1 FLT will provide transport to LZ India and extraction from LZ November. They will also be prepared to CASEVAC troops as needed and bring in reinforcements or supplies. IV. SERVICE SUPPORT A. General: No changes to SOP B. Materials and Services: 1. Arma2TS

Just so I can be sure - this won't effect those who have not yet updated, correct? Currently I've been getting people to go back to teamspeak beta 17 after accidentally upgrading.
  6. Does anyone have a working link to the mod? All the links in this thread seem to be dead-ending :(

    ShackTac Fireteam HUD (STHUD)

Absolutely excellent add-on. At the 16AA we generally move in eight man groups (really two fireteams of four, but sticking relatively together). So would love to have the functionality extended to the full eight men, however, it's not a /huge/ problem as you can still see six of the other men at any one time. Either way, brilliant job.. !

    Adding Javalins To Missions

Solved it, now using JAVELIN as the ammo and the weapon type. Pity they don't come up in the players inventory when they're there...
  9. Hello all, I'm trying to create a mission with Javalins in, but I'm having trouble with getting the ammo to go in the ammo crate.. it keeps sayign that the ammo code I'm using (from the wiki: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Weapons) M_Javelin_AT I'm using the following code: this addmagazinecargo ["M_Javelin_AT", 10] Any idea what I'm doing wrong? TIA, Paul Hutson

Send Text only to a player in a trigger

Thanks for the quick reply - the condition doesn't seem to be working on that last one.. ... but wait, with a little fiddling, it does indeed work Thank you very much for your help!
  12. Hello all, I've currently trying to set up a mission whereby when someone moves into an area they get some text on their screen.. however, I only want *them* to get the text.. not everyone else. Does anyone know how to do that? (I've tried groupChat.. but it pops up from everyone, hint also pops the message up for everyone as well...) TIA, Paul Hutson
  13. Hello, I'm writing up a few multiplayer scenarios for use on the NATOGC operations. One of the elements that has been suggested to speed things up is the opportunity to select the weapon loadout as you respawn (in the form of a menu that pops up, similar to some that are found on CTF maps now). Does anyone know how I would go about achieving that? Ideally, an example of it having been done would be excellent - I'll be able to mod it as required. Looking forward to any help you can give me. TIA, Paul Hutson

    Armed Assault videos

Sorry - I should have mentioned that I was trying to post to the ArmA Movie Makers website, but the submissions weren't going through for some reason. I've posted on their forums with the NATOGC videos, hopefully I can speak to someone about getting them added as news items in the near future
