    Deus ex 2 sp-demo out

    this is the unreal engine isnt it, so why have they made it not support gf4mx and down, these cards are used by alot of budget gamers, and like me see no worthwhile card to upgade to yet. Imight just get a ti4200 performs well in the games i play. Pixel shaders i dont like em, sure u can make sum good looking stuff but unless you have a top o the line computer it kills performance for a small bit of eye candy, look at halo.

    ya games with native linux ports do really run much nicer, it uses far less ram, xp uses 54% of my ram with nothing running, linux even running the heavy KDE window manageris on about 30-40%.

    the open gl drivers come with the vid card drivers, notice if you use windows drivers for your video card no open gl apps will work. Plus windows isnt the best technology it just has the maket share thanks to its early start. There are open gl video cards out there, firegl i think is ati and nvidia has one to, atis is for budget people the nvidia one is for the non budgeters.

    The Quake engine games (MOHAA, QUake3) defintely support OpenGL - much better than they do DX. Like I said I don't play that mnay games - it's just that all of the major commercial games I DO play don't even support OpenGL. I wouldn't call OpenGL 'the standard' - just one of the two choices game developers have. Edit: I think the Doom series are based on the quake engine too, right? Dunno about Jedi knight or 'RTWC' (what does that stand for anyway?) Doom3 will be using the doom3 engine, it might have some stuff in common with q3 engine but it is its own engine, the things people go on about in hl2 like physics are also in doom3, they aim to make everything destructable probly not the levels tho, and the destructable bits destructable and agian. PLus the lighting effects in doom3 would be beyond q3 engine. The games u listed mohaa rtcw etc all games on the q3 engine are open gl only.

    home world 2 also uses open gl, uses dx for multiplayer, ut2003 has open gl support also a linux client, ut2004 will also. Il2sturmovik uses open gl as default. the open gl 2.0 standard shouldnt be too far off.

    jus have it so u jump u get tired, when sprinting jumping etc and u are tpp tired make it so u cant sprint or jump, i know i cant sprint and jump everywhere.

    u people really need to think a bit more, if jumping is included in ofp2, we can assume it will be realistic, how many jumps can u do in real life? not many, also at the ranges people shoot u at jumping isnt going to save them. Even in games like ET people dont jump in a fight because then they die. Jumping is probly not useful if implemented, instead a climb feature like in hidden and dangrous would be more usful jus have it bound to a key and have the soldier move quicker than h&d. For reloading, slow walking should be al option with increase in reloading time, also sprint should have the soldier stop and move maybee depending on the stage have him drop his magazine.

    really the only teams i see as a chance of winning are New Zealand Australia England England are looking very dangrous, australia hasnt been playin well losing to NZ alot latelly so im going to say its ither NZ or the brits, me being NZ will vote for NZ.

    Cti- worst thing to happen to ofp

    CTI was one of the best game modes for OFP, along with rts, cti more so, it was like a cooperative against humans and ai, while you built your bases and dug in you got to work with others to take the towns. This meant that the other human side was doing the same thing not just sitting in their base, u could get a squad of men an a cessna and go behind enemy lines that sorta thing, there usually was alot of team work like once on an overseas server i rember taking out the other sides base with a combined assult of 4 squads of ai controlled by 4 humans lota fun. CTF is death match plain and simple theres a flag but often after 30mins its 0 - 0, CnH again for 30 players these are far to large, often they have 3 areas to hold or more with 30 players usually the most u see if 3 guys in 10minutes, i once defended a flag with 3 others for 20mins without seeing a single enemy aside from the helecopter that showed up at the start, if they base it around a single flag as i did in some of my maps u have more going on and no boring defence duty against an enemy that wont attack. Then theres coops sure these are fun but usually online most people dunno whats going on, usually most good ggames are from a map played over and over until people know what to do, ild rather play these on lan or with small amounts of people. These CTI like maps are really the only ones that combine all aspects of ofp, there is no spawns to camp no fixed enemy location, u have to do recon to find them and be alert to attacks they send out, nothing like a well coordinated ambush on an attacking tank squad. What kills ofp mp is lack of Join in progress this limits the game to short deathmatch like games, the waiting turns away huge numbers of people and makes it hard to build player numbers on a servers, they can quit anytime they like but not join. OFP2 and hopefully sumthing brought back to the pc version from the xbox one might open things up.

    ID have recently realeased ET about 2 days ago, the planned wolf sequel that went free after its sp was decided not up to scratch and canned.     i reckon they should add open gl support to ofp2, i hate direct X it jus dosnt work as great as my open gl games. If it supports open gl then they can let a group like iccus port it for them, they dont charge you, it probly wont bring huge profits but chances are all games using linux will get it, and any window ofp fans might make the switch to get the performance increase, this sorta thing makes linux users love u can support u, if linux is to continue to gain market share cant be a bad move. Need sum open gl support.

    I've suggested publisher/developer-run dedicated servers since the beginning, as Novalogic had for DF1, DF2, DF:LW, etc. Codemasters did not deliver this. Funny that when they released IGI2 they had dedicated servers offered by Codemasters. Codemasters has done some disappointing things with OFP since v1.00. They didn't even get the vehicle pictures right in one of the manuals. that wouldnt make the slightest difference, whats the difference to playing on a local dedicated server to a offical one in ofp, if it was ofp2 and a server for a large amount of players like df2 and the 64 people ones then yes but for ofp it would of added nothing, without jip u cant expect large or long games, ofp2 with JIP should bring the element of dynamic battle fields and games that go all day, an quitters being a problem well no they wont i play other games to like wolfenstein and dose everyone quit no they dont, when one dose one takes his place in ofp one quits no one else takes his place. With JIP quitters arnt a problem without JIP quitters are because they uneven the sides and lower the player count.

    well its a hotly debated issue, it has been on a news recently to about people who build a replica of his design and engine and going to fly it, i heard about it first as a kid, he was meant to have flown some many weeks before the wright brothers, his design wasnt to bad looking more modern than the wright brothers one.

    heh i use the 190D, its very strong with lotas ammo, and can keep speed in turns, if u see a p47 go for it ur almost guranteed a kill :P, cant wait for the patch tho where they fix the undermodeled 20mms and doras climb rate.

    u ont generally look for people to shoot, i hide out of line of sight and just shell areas i know they will be, also when a field ops throws a smoke can or calls arty, u get a marker showing you where to aim. http://www.gpforums.co.nz/attachment.php?s=&postid=2312489 in the case of battery as allies just shell up and down the wall, use g to see your command map showing u where the round lands.

    u havnt played battery until u have been a allied mortar man, i had twice the kills of everyone on my team, even got 4kills off one shot with it, we held up the axis in the bunker while we got a covert and neer thru the back door and planted at the gun

    theres no sp because sp was canned, and they wernt able to get the bots finshed for cooperative and offline mods hence y the games free. Covert ops can steal uniforms and blow things up with hims remote bombs, with an enemy uniform he can let his team through certian doors or sneak around and blow up small objectives like command posts or on battery a generator that unlocks the back door. All the old classes are there with a few new toys and abilities and a experence system, u do ur classes job well u get better at it, u just fight you get better weapon abilities, you stay alive for long periods of time and give or take dammage you get battle sense which allows you to spot mines at higher levels etc.

    the game will have an sdk so its gona be modable, and its not mindless fragging, less so than team vs team ofp in a way because, u have classes and objectives, u cant win the game as a med but if u support ur neers as medic u can, but u cant do that with out ammo from a lt, and u cant get to some places without a covert ops. Its the mindless fraggers that piss me off when they arnt helping the team complete the objective like on rail gun we hav eabout 5 guys helping get the train to the depo when the other half r playing on the rail gun.

    ya but then they wont last ither, also geting it enough quantities would be difficult, the cost mass produced or not would be signaficantly higher. Hydrogen also isnt an option at the moment, most of it comes from oil refining and getting it by other means like from water requires large amounts of energy. Methane could be used but they already are trying that with little output. Theres also the question of power out put and endurace vs petrol.

    i think we might see the end in our life times, the cause? oil yes its gona run out and if we still dont have an alternative by then were all stuffed, if we do then the balance of power shifts elsewhere, China will be one to watch. Nothing lasts forever, the romans had a pretty sweet empire going on head and sholders beyond everyone else, big cities a first back then i think with running water and sweage treatment, but they fell.

    i think its going to be a very good game, one big advanatage over ofp is its vechicle control, u can walk inside them u can have many guns, i got the tank and loaded 3 guys in it it was cool as they fired in all directions. I then fiddled with the script to get the space ships and drop ship, loaded my guys into the drop ship and flew into space and landed on the ship. Its pretty incomplete tho this demo, the space ships dont have the first person view seen in screen shots, the tank dosnt either, yet the broken tanks has a first person view. When this game is finshed i think it will be very good, cooperative multiplayer and the usual modes sound very cool and it runs great on my 850mhz. Its a bit like ofp in the future, havnt tried halo. Other good points tho is indoor fighting looks like it dose that well to, judging from the big space ship and screen shots.

    hidden and dangrous 2 looks awsome, u can even fly planes in it, its graphics look stunnin, all that and being able to steal uniforms and creap around in indoor and huge outdoor environments.
