    maps under construction:

    I've had a Yemeni map in the works for about 6 months now (not touched it in a couple of months). Originally started out with Terrain/Sat/Mask/Tex for "Little Aden 20KM" (just down the coast from Aden), binned all that and went for "Aden 20km" as the city/port has a bit more to offer. Right now I'm up to HFZ terrain editing (L3DT), which I've imported from Global Mapper (NASA ASTER 30M DEM), Pulled what ive got so far into V3 for a quick screenie: I've finished the high res satmap which has been mapped to the exact UTM coords of Aden (hopefully works out in V3): Zoom in of the above marked area: The 20km area I'm building has few sandy areas, some beaches and outskirts of city. the city and port are busy and cramped.........I'm already dreading filling with objects. Maybe outsource the object placing, :cool: One day I'll get it finished (<<<< the motto of V3 mapping IMO)

But when a moderator displays clear lack of reading abilities and ignorance of peoples right to to answer when spoken to, I can spill over. Your action of closing my thread before I have a chance to answer is plain rude. It won't be available for non-VBS2 customers anytime soon." Well at least you answered an off topic question that didn't come from my mouth, again a bit ignorant for your closing words. I am a customer of BIS products and consider this to be a forum to support the products BIS make and we purchase. Maybe you had a bad day, late night, who knows. As a moderator you are supposed to be a punctual embassador to BIS, In my case you could have put more effort into acting like one. Thanks for reading this.

    DLC - Canadian Forces

    General Dynamics formerly GM Diesel Division in London, Ontario, Canada produces LAV's for canada and the (lower chassis) for the US, possibly others too. These LAV products are built by canadians with canadian steel/alloys Anyone in Buffalo NY/Detroit MI can look to the border and see em being shipped across by truck sealed in shrink wrap, or on rail flatbeds. Products on sale back on topic: A canadian DLC would be great, A tribute to a country who has actively participated in in 90% of major allied conflicts this century, They invented peacekeeping too. Consider it BIS :)

I am so much looking forward to the BAF DLC, It's too bad I wont be purchasing it until the updated BI Tools suite is released, I guess that would make this a protest :yeahthat: Please BIS help us out. I've had three middle east map projects on hold since the release of arrowhead. I would really like to finish them. Tools please.

  8. PROBLEM: I would like to suggest some ideas for character & doorway models, the way they interact. The issue is with getting 'stuck' in doorways and having to either enter/exit with your weapon pointing forward, you cant seem to sidestep through the doorway with your weapon. SOLUTION: Make all character models that hold a weapon, bring the weapon vertical to the chest (automatically, not by command) when a doorway is encountered (the inside of the doorframe?) I imagine this would mean animation has to added to models and some sort of boudary/collisson code (I'm not technical in this area) to the doorways. Having a model/character do this automatically when the door is encountered would be prefereable, as real life your body would naturally do this (pull your weapon from horizontal to vertical against your chest) [if] weapon [equals] doorframe [then] animate weapon to chest? I know nothing about creating or coding in 3D, so excuse my terminology. Cheers.
  9. Wishing you had used 'online activation' instead of 'disc in drive' to save your disc from being damaged? No need to unistall ArmA 2 OA. Use the official SecuROM removal tool, run as administartor in Vista/Win7 Run the game again and you will be prompted to select one of the above methods for activating your game, just like when you installed it. Tool and instuctions at: https://support.securom.com/removaltool.html Avoid bashing your head off your disc, your ArmA disc is now safe:D

Classic 80's, Back when ground techies knew how to use a brush, lol I loved that era of RAF camo too (Phantom FGR.2) It could be done, but may not look correct, the texture template mirrors itself on the fuselage. So that side view in the pic would be mirrored on the other side of the aircraft, this works, but when you veiw from above and below you have a symmetrical pattern which looks bad. That is also a C1 with 4 blade props. There has been a C130H released which is the same as the C1, I would however need to contact the creator for permission to skin mod the aircraft. ^^^^^That could be an option^^^^^ ?
  11. I can't stop flying this... if you want a laugh..... 1. Create a parked squadron of various aircraft, Choose the tiffy armed with 2x Storm Shadow guided missiles. 2. Take off fly low level, launch said Storm Shadow at center of mass of the parked aircraft....give it some reheat and switch to external view as you pass overhead.....BOOOM...nothing left Amazing. The CRV's are nice too, I like the different burst rates. Can the FGR4 carry JP233, if they are still in our war stocks?

    It sounds like a VGA issue, as stated get your specs up, mainly your graphics card for that particular issue
  13. Starting it this weekend, all should be good except for the 'Royal Air Force' on the fuselage, Both Green and Gray versions? I will investigate adding replacement versions this weekend. Update for the mod............ ADDON RELEASED

  20. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I agree with the standardisation of factions, The helos appear in the editor like so....... A couple of questions..... 1. What is going on with the hellfires, They appear in game the same as in the picture. [see screenie below] I have eliminated my mods because I did a complete reinstall of the game, ran it and got the same same effect (no mods, just stock out the box).....weird....any ideas? If possible, I will attempt to fix this anomoly and include it with the AH.1. 2. When these are ready (soon), I beleive it would be wise to sign the addon, I fully understand the purpose of keys and totallt agree with them, would one be needed for just a skin modification? @ rexehuk: This stands as an addon for the time being, I could work on a replacement in the future. On a side note.... Overall this is the beginning of a learning curve for me, The config scripting will certainly come in handy for completing my maps (more details to come) and texturing is always something ive tinkered with in PS. This is the first time i've managed to get them working in a game with specifics. I've many users and forums (google incl) dating from OFP to Arma2 to thank, The information is vast and duly greatful, so much reading...thanks to all. Every step understood opens a new challenge....relentless! :D Cheers
