Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only
Godfather-BEF- replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hooah, TheForce, you're probably using the wrong shortcut. Try using this one [HDD]:\[XXX]\ArmA\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta -nosplash, which must be started in you ARMA root folder. G. -
Hoooah, Nvidia 174 + beta 112: best combination so far as it nearly doubled my FPS! Nice work BIS. G.

1.11 beta patch troubleshooting thread.
Godfather-BEF- replied to hoz's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hooah, I'm having similar issues Hoot, after some time only however, with the Nvidia 169.44 drivers as well. I just "flush" the memory and it goes quiet again. G. -
Freezing for 2 seconds while ingame
Godfather-BEF- replied to Dudester's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hoooah, Have the same thing with Nvidia drivers that have followed 163.71 beta version, reason why I still use that one which is the most "stable". The freeze is indeed boring, especially when you drive or fly and occurs disregarding the game version (1.09b or 1.08). G. -
Hoooah, Had the same problem with TeamSpeak and solved it by (i) running both arma and Teamspeak as "administrator" under Vista (right click on desired icon to access that option) and (ii) ensuring that my voice activation key was not already assigned in Arma. Check if this helps! G.

Hoooah, Yes indeed. The best you can do is test it e.g. with FRAPS to find the right balance between FPS and details settings. You may as well use different gfx card drivers as we have seen in the past that the "latest of the latest" were sometimes less efficient than their older brothers. Have fun! G.

Hooah, Can't actually now  but could with the demo, everything maxed out, even VD at 10.000. And God, what a beautifull game it was! G.

Godfather-BEF- replied to jasooon's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hoooah, working for me .... again with the maxmem=512 function G. -
Hoooah, Output is not the problem. Input is. I'll try to tackle the port issue tonite. Tx. G.

Hoooah, For once a topic that's not on gfx  ARMA is running smooth (but not as great as was the demo) on my system (AMD 4200+ Dual Core, 2GB, 8800GTX, Vista Ultimate 64) with -maxmem=512 and "all normal" settings. On desktop, Teamspeak works perfectly, I can hear my team and they can hear me. However, when ARMA is launched, they can't hear me at all, but I still can. A little help would be much appreciated. G.
