    What? I can't belive people are saying No. OF COURSE include fast roping. 1. Some other games have it in one way or another. 2. Its VERY realistic. Fast roping is used a lot in urban operation situations. 3. Its very fun! Its is! and you know it!

    ArmA is too hard

    I'm a little bothered by this comment. You don't have any empathy for the average user. Making missions in Armed Assault is VERY HARD. Its basically a semi-pro activity. I do it, pretty well infact. But I got a degre in computer graphics, programming and web expereince. Without that, I couldn't have learned what I did. The editing support documentation by the community is confusing at best. =EDIT= Yeah. Looking at Second's post below. Well put. Most everyone can use the editor to place units etc. But where most people get lost is implementing scripting of course, but even the briefing. Its too bad that BI wouldn't create a way of editing a briefing in the editor. I think its important to remember that very, very few of the players for this game have any scripting or html editing experence at all.

    Laser guided bombing changes in 1.14?

    Yeah. I think they have been making changes. It seemed like back in 1.09 the laser targeting was not even working if I remember right. Now it does work again in 1.14 however, I never noticed the cursor which you showed. Very observent.

    Next Gen Stealth Bombers

    Man I wonder how much these cost each? Maybe they should just keep what they got for awhile. I mean, the B-52 is going to have a 100 year service life before its retired. Amazing. Don't ever doubt that some of these decisions are just simply to spend money and get rich. War profitering. There's a lot of money invoved in this. We are so far ahead of most countries, we could afford to wait awhile.

    USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

    I am embarrased to call myself an American sometimes. First off, I belive the two party system is totally broken. It is really a one party system which has been bought out by Wealthy internationalists and the military industrial complex. Disagree? Since World War 2 we have done nothing but get deeper and deeper into debt, much to most American's disagreement. And we keep getting involved in conflicts where we spend a lot of money, but nothing good ever really comes from it (Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afgan, Iraq etc.) Both republican and democrates have been involved in these situations. Heck, the recent banking bail out was under the Republican Bush administration not democrates. I think America will only get back in line if we get some third party or independent people into office. People who live and vote on principles not who puts money in their pockets.

    Far Cry 2

    I played Far Cry 2. It was interesting. However, I was frustrated at the lack of realism with the firearms. You had to shoot someone like 30 times to kill them. I'm tried of that. And there is not a very interesting varity of missions. They spend a lot of time on "world development" for the playing environment.. and it its very good. But I found a lot of the missions to be somewhat of a bore. And the story? Huh, there was no virus, no monsters, no elements from the orginal Far Cry, no JACK CARVER! Nothing. I mean, they just took the name. Thats it. No references at all. I was hoping to see a tie in to the previous games. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

    Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway

    Have not played it. I'm burned out on World War 2 games for the moment. Anyone else? They are going to have to make something different than the standard run around and shoot game to get my interest. Yeah and I agree, the cut scene's for that game series are generally lame. I was not impressed When I played the other game, I had the feeling like I was moving around tiny toy soldiers on a large chess board. There is some kinda weird sense in scale in the world design that is unsettling to me. "feels" unnatural.

    Delta Force "Angel Falls"

    Good topic. Yes, DF 1 and 2 got me into shooters. They were amazing. Blackhawk down and JO were interesting, but I feel like it lost the effect of DF 1 and 2. Its hard to describe why I didn't like them as much. Maybe the graphical changes to the game engine? I think one thing I liked with DF1 and 2 is that the story, missions, and objectives felt "real" to me. It was very objective focused, and not "hollywood style story" focused. If that makes any sense. I felt more like I was a professional soldier. Here was the brefing, the objectives and lets get to it. No character development, or any of that stroy crap. Like, I think the Rainbow Six series has been ruined with that. I miss the impersonal days of the orgional RB6, and Ravenshield. Ghost recon is the same way. The first Ghost Recon was awsome. I don't like the format of the new one so much. (again focusing on the story side with character development etc) Also, DF 1 and 2 really had a big scale in missions. The action was spread out pretty well. It seemed like BHD and JO didn't have this as much. Or mabye its just the DF1 and 2 were the first big open outdoor environment games. Maybe when we got to BHD, and JO we were jaded.

    Government internet filtering in Australia

    Scary stuff man. I don't think any of us should be suprised by any of this. I think we should be ready to stand up to it. Ever since governments have been around throughout the world there is always a back and forth battle for rights between the people and the government. We are lucky to have freedoms like we do, but rest assured there are very wealthy people who have socialist plans for the Western world, and censoring the public's ability to protest them will be the first step towards stopping resistance. The Internet is the ultimate system for dispersing information to the masses, rest assured they will make their best efforts to "get control" of it. Just remember that there is always an element of truth in the control campagins governments use. Yes, that filtering system might limit child porn, piracy etc. BUT you know as well as I do, it has the potential to censor ANYTHING they want. That's too much power over Australian citizen's free speech and you shouldn't trust the government to "honor" that freedom. Because they probably won't. Vote smart, protest when you can, write your representatives, watch politics and stay informed guys. Most importantly, spread awareness to your neighbor (coworker, friend, classmates etc). Thats the only way we'll be able to fight this. The downfall of the Western civilization as we know it will be if the majority of the common man populace becomes totally apathetic of political issues, and being involved in public matters. Don't be a part of that group! Better to do the right thing, than join the apathetic masses. Live by principle guys!

    ArmA is too hard

    Yeah. I do see a lot of the guys commenting that arma is a simulation, and ment to reflect reality more than most games. However, can you blame them? I mean, it is sold as a "game". On most games sites you don't find it listed under "simulation", its listed under "action" usually. And others things to consider.. being the ballastics and AI are more real, the visual side of ArmA is not. Its way easier to spot stuff at 400 yards in real life than on your pixelated computer screen, unless you have a very high end system and can run max detail at a high screen resolution. However, a VAST MAJORITY of players do not have this type of setup. So, i can empathize w/ the complaints. But overall, people do have to realize they can not play ArmA like other games, you gotta use proper fire/cover/movement tactics in this game.

    Hey Xeno, Thanks for replying eariler. I like the sound of where you plan to take this map. One Edit. I suggested a modification to the main type of combat experienced. I didn't mean cut down the use of friendly armor. I would like to see the enemy Armor presence at objectives cut in half and double the enemy infantry presence. Seems like i'm fighting more crewmen these days from disabled vehicles than infantry. Thats all, Thanks : )

    Fantastic Comments from everyone. Â I enjoy reading everything everyone says. So, here are a couple of mine, HOW TO TEACH IDOTS TO PLAY IDEA... Yes, I see everyone is talking about the Gun ho, "I don't know how to read" players who run and gun, destroy blackhawks, and don't play roles. I think an answer to this is to provide Hint, or text prompts on screen of player roles, what they can do. mabye even show pictures of actions/tasks they can do? Â Kinda like a dymanic in game "in your face" unavoiable briefing. (since most people don't read briefing). Think back to Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142, you jump in game, you got menus, pictures and voice tutorials teaching you your role.. this is what I think you should implement. Â This will teach people how to play. Maybe only do this once, and include some way to access these screens again (via radio or action menu)? BATTLE FIELD COMMANDER IDEA In my opinion, support drops, and artillery should be replaced by a single unit in this role. Do away with the arti operators. Maybe you could borrow the scripting out of warfare for voting a person in/out? Also, he could set waypoints for the teams. Â Pretty much like this position in Battlefield 2. REWARD SYSTEM IDEA Creating some kind of REWARD SYSTEM with WEAPON POOL UPGRADES is a fantastic idea. Like, if a SF operator lases a target, and it gets bombed, maybe he gets a point or two which adds up to unlocking bonus gear. WEAPON & CLASS IDEA ****For weapons.. maybe do away with ammo creates, go to a class-based interactive menu system with pre-defined configs? (or use the create as the "arming point" to execute this menu) PILOT CLASS IDEA ***I would also like to see a pilot class role. Maybe 3 or 4 (only they could use air craft). Perhapse make it a feature that could be enabled or disabled? IDEA FOR SUPPORT DROPS.. And finally, the chopper dropping stuff is buggy, and the thing gets shot down a lot and crashes a lot, I recommend using a support system similar to Evolution. Mabey just play a sound of a plane flying over head.. then shortly later your requested support drops in. COMBAT IDEA Less armor. More infantry. Maybe cut the armor present in 1/2 and double or triple the infantry presence. Its too lop sided. Most people are not fighting in vehicles. MY MOST RADICAL SUGGESTION.. Here we go.. do away with the ability to para drop anywhere. Perhapse limit it in the way of a DEPLOYABLE MARKER which must be manually moved? I, for one, enjoy a little traveling. It slows the game down, gives you time to think/plan, and forces you to play smarter. Perhaps the battlefield commander can do this. Just my thoughts. Great job Xeno.

    F/A-18E/F Super Hornet

    Alright, I tried using this in multiplayer and we got some really crazy syncronozation problems. We tried combining the F18s into Domination. Â Players were moving and interacting in the game and it was not being syncronized between everyone (you would move, but others would not see it). Â Once the F18s were destroyed, all was fine. Â Very strange. Â This occured on a dedicated server. Â We never had this before, so its not our server. Â I'm not going into details. Â I'm experienced in scripting, addon installing/use and I know we were using the addons correctly, we had access to the loading menus for weapons and everything. All I want to know is if anyone else has experienced this in multiplayer and also to let the developer know this might be a problem.

    Dialog Template, plus Standard Dialogs

    Dr. Eyeball I love you man. I really like where your going with this. I am a little confused about how to implement this into my missions and customize the options and titles to what I want. I wish you could explain more about the individual options in lists and where to change them at. Perhapse a sample code (calling in atrillery, supply drop etc). I have a pretty basic understanding of scripting and can usually read through most scripts and get an idea of what's going on. Thanks again.
