The emagin unit you mentioned really isn't that good. I've tried it. Not all that great. You're better off using a TrackIR and a good monitor. Plus the visor only works in 2DOF. They've lowered the price recently. They weren't selling very well. I know that much. These VR Helmets just aren't very good. Jason

Hi guys. Nice to be here. I'm not positive what NP has in store since I don't work for them anymore. What I do know is that the TIR is still the easiest and cheapest way to get you into the game without and expensive headset. Armes Assault with TrackIR will be awesome! And X al...OFP players are cool peeps for sure. Great community support. Jason

Hi Everyone, I haven't read the entire thread here about the TrackIR, but for those that don't have one or understand the impact of the TrackIR I will say that Bohemia supporting the TrackIR is a great thing. Well, who am I to say that? Well, I am the former TrackIR product manager at NaturalPoint and I have been involved with NP for a long time. I am currently the Marketing Director for GoGamer.com and yes, I am a huge gamer. :-) And yes, I play hooky and come to post on forums when I should be working. LOL. Let me start by saying I hope Bohemia does indeed release the game with TrackIR support included. The videos I have seen are spectacular. TrackIR in 6DOF adds a whole new level of immersion to any game or sim. Obviously the videos show when TrackIR is coupled to character animations you can get some amazingly realistic looking gameplay. Imagne a battlefield where Heads are bobbing, eyes are scanning and bodies are leaning and peeking. Imagine standing on your tip toes to look over an obstacle just like in real life. All of this is possible with a TrackIR. Bohemia almost has it down. Great job Bohemia! With regards to some gamers saying the TrackIR is a cheaters tool. There were many flight-simmers who said the same thing, but once experienced, the community adopted it and flight-simming has taken a leap forward. They recognized that it make computer flying better. Armed Assault can be that title which takes shooters to a whole new level and should be recognized for innovation in gaming. And using a TrackIR is basically the same thing as buying a faster mouse or a better joystick. It is a tool that enhances gameplay. Imagine flying a chopper with TrackIR. It will become extremely easy and imagine it coupled to the chain gun in the nose like in a real chopper. Good times! Also, if you absolutely don't want TrackIR usage on your server, it should be made a server side option just to keep people from getting upset. Let the market decide. I bet over time more servers will allow TrackIR than not. I almost forgot this point. The TrackIR technology is an amazingly simple solution to a very complex problem. It is not wonky VR goggles or a complicated headset. And it works in true 3D unlike other failed products. They have mastered the technology and it works as advertised. Also, TrackIR users are a loyal bunch and they support those titles that support it. Bohemia will see a boost in sales if they support it. So anyways, before I write a book, I will say that if any Armed Assualt fan has a question about the TrackIR feel free to write me. And the price of TrackIR has come down and we have some awesome deals on it. Hit me up if you want to know more. Regards, Jason Williams GoGamer.com
