Sorry, but the videos I have seen/reviews I have read to this day are reviews that all used the patch and still say it simply doesn't work. I'm surely not bashing the game, but reality is far from being the great game I longed for. Let's wait and see what BI will do with more patches.

If the game is still this beta version with all the bugs and problems they won't find a publisher for the 360 anyway. I doubt that the game will pass the MS quality control which is necessary for all 360 games before they can be published for the console. I'm so disappointed by what I have seen so far. AI, controls, scripting - all broken. Really sad and if BI doesn't rework the complete game with their patches (which I doubt will happen) CM will have an easy win on the consoles (given that they don't fuck it all up, too).

Some players are not 'PC players' but console players who also sometimes use a PC for different reasons. A game not yet published on a console (or the 'wrong' console), Modding, whatever. Then it comes in handy to use the controller ;)

Scripting could be used if they simply give us some pre-set scripts we can drag/drop on a unit so it follows the commands of the scripting template. This way we could use a bunch of scripting commands without the need to actually write them.

Oh I'm sure it will work great like it did in Elite, I was just a bit confused because of the mission/template thingy. It was good to see however that they work on both versions at the same time so we don't have to wait 4 years again for the console version ;)

All true, but he said 'We're adding missions the player can modify by a simple editor', that's what I don't understand. Seems to say that there's more restriction in making of missions than we had in Elite. But we'll see

Thanks :) Hmm...some special missions to tinker with? Don't know how restrictive this actually is. Why using 'missions' here at all? I mean we have a huge map and lots of weapons and units with hopefully good AI. Shouldn't that be enough for making some missions with the editor? But we'll see and if it has an editor CM's game is already doomed to remain the no. 2... Grim

Didn't Placebo give us a clear hint recently that it will at least definitely come to the 360? A hint, between the lines, sure, but rather clear nonetheless - I personally don't doubt that we'll get a 360 version of the game, I hope with an editor(!!!), so the only thing left unsure is when - not if. It's absolutely unacceptable that CM removed the editor from the console versions - they took it out again, so it was in there already! - since that is one of the key points of the OFP games, besides the realism. I considered it a close competition between ArmA2 and FDR on consoles, but now they have already lost a major battle in this war. BI could make a powerful editor on the Xbox 1 and now, with the 360 x-times more powerful CM can't do it? Ridiculous... Grim

Ok, I hereby apologize for my harsh words SaBrE_UK, seems that the prick was me. Â I wasn't aware that he had that statement on his carreer profile. I'm sorry. But I still think we shouldn't use that as ammo now for doubting all his statements about the game he is currently involved in (at least that's a fact). Come on we had that discussion before all over the fora regarding Clive and his status as 'part of the original team' or whatever it was called. There was never much evidence that Clive tried to be someone he never was. It was a wrong statement but I don't remember it was his statement so what all the fuss made about it now? Fact is: we do have two factions that want to make the 'true and only' successor of OFP, one having the rights for the engine, the other having the rights for the name. Gamers and fans want to have a true successor and most gamers are not into all this BI vs. CM nonsense. We are waiting for two great games that might have the right to be called 'OFP2' and there are fans for both BI and CM - and the real fan of the game as such will certainly buy and play both. But all we see here on the BI forum is bashing and trolling and bs about the CM game and persons involved with it. You are a member of the CM forum - you should know how it could be done without all this bashing here. So, no I'm not Clive and I'm sure he can defend himself well enough. If the members here can't just talk about the games and all that, you should expect some crystal clear responses to these 'he's a liar' notes. If you don't consider such accusations as off topic Placebo, just live with the reactions to them. Grim

You know what? More and more people play on a console because they are not interested in this 'thrill' at all. All they are interested in is playing games on a BIG HDTV often in a room with friends playing the same game on the same console and the same TV while downing a few beers. If not they like to play online without much problems and generelly they like to play their games without much problems. That's why the money is made now with games published for consoles. And that's why FP:DR is published for all platforms. If this means the PC boys don't get their usual 'thrill' then this is a small sacrifice for the publishers who want to make money and many players who want to play games in a comfortable manner. That's what we all hope, mate. Grim

Do you have both, SpeedFreak and FPS Freak? Perhaps I try them out too - why not, better aiming and smoother steering is always a good thing Grim
