  1. I had the same problem. In my case I realized that Arma2 kept detecting 128MB of video ram(I also have 8GB of RAM). Check arma2.cfg - localVRAM=128974848;nonlocalVRAM=128974848;. Also in game I was unable to increase texture details from normal quality. Manual change of values didn't help.

    solution - I removed nvidia 185.85 driver, rebooted a installed older beta driver, rewrited values to 780MB of localVRAM and 2GB of nonlocalVRAM. Everything fixed ;)

    on Vista buss 64-bit

  2. Our CSF clan is planning new server based on this system:

    PIV 2.4 GHz

    ASUS P4SDX, SIS 655 chipset

    512MB RAM

    Gentoo linux

    (100Mbit for 1.5USD/month lol )

    Is there any server admin experienced with OFP on SIS chipset mobo?

    Problems, performance, stability etc. ??

    We'll buy it tomorrow, so quick response would be helpfull. smile_o.gif

  3. check your DNS and your fully qualified domain name

    problem is that IP 80.1.206.187 is not resolved for any hostname - and this is necesary (for 99%)

    if u have any domain, than assign some secondary level domain name to this address like 80.1.206.187 - ofpserver.myowndomain.com

    or contact your provider and ask for a hostname in his domain

    Easy to understand ? biggrin_o.gif I hope so.

  4. there is no reason to run DirectX 9.x version on gf2mx!

    remove it and use 8.1 version

    2nd thing is to use older drivers - 12.41-those were stable and runing fine wink_o.gif

    ps. don't forget to use via 4in1 drivers

    pps. set your agp aperiture size in bios to 32 or less

  5. on win, u should, at least, try to set correctly your DNS setting(once this was the problem)

    be sure to have server.cfg file something like this:

    passwordAdmin="12345";

    hostname="Testing Server.";

    motd[]=

    {

    "Welcome.",

    "Bla bla - edit as u like it"

    };

    MaxMsgSend=128;

    MaxSizeGuaranteed=512;

    MaxSizeNonGuaranteed=256;

    MinBandWidth=131072;

    MaxBandWidth=512000;

    voiceOverNet="false";

    maxPlayers=6;

    kickDuplicate="true";

    motdInterval=3;

    voteThreshold=0.33;

    reportingIP="";

    voteMissionPlayers=0;

    class Missions {

    };

    This is the minimum, that config file should contain.

    Later u can use more precise config file .. search this forum - it has been discussed many times here.

  6. 1. As BIS net-devel. told me, RedHat 9 has incompatible library, so do not use it for dedic. server until BIS announces new version of the server.

    2. I've had the same problem under linux.

    U need properly set this:

     1. network card configuration

     2. etc/hosts file (DO NOT USE "space" but TAB key!!)

     3. if still the same probl., than run NSCD - name service cache daemon

       (very simple to use, just read readme)

    => shoult work fine

    And I think it is the same problem under win, so just correct your DNS and hostname settings.

  7. I've some questions (on Linux server):

    1. How to DISABLE personal sounds? Only sounds, not faces.

    (not MaxCustomFileSize) like CustomSounds=0

    2. How to require higher version of OFP ?

    e.g. does exist something like MinClientVersion to put in server.cfg confused.gif

    3. This one is for win client :

    What parameters to use for direct connection to a server?

    To skip the menu.

    e.g. : FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE - server:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2302 -pass: xxxxx

    I was searching a lot, but couldn't find these sad.gif

    THX.
