CoD is a good game on its own (if pretty ugly), but compared to MoHAA, it´s just disgraceful. Stalingrad landing? Tank missions? Bastogne? Even the weapon holding animations! It IS MoHAA. Embarrassing.

Why would TBA care about AQ or Afghanistan without 9/11? Bush heavily criticized Al Gore during his election campaign for "using nation building and the military in the same sentence." In fact, opposing peacekeeping and nation building (Somalia...) was one of the distinguishing things of his campaign. The U.S didn´t want to invade anyone before 9/11 (Right? )but now they´ve invaded two countries and are rapidly learning how to keep the peace. I think the same wars wouldn´t be fought without 9/11 and the war on terror.

Now of course I don´t expect TBA to intervene in every terrorism war in the world, but it´s just hypocritical to suddenly start fighting a war against "terrorism" that´s threatening the "world". Just say it, you´re acting in your own interests, like Iraq. The revisionists are saying that the U.S went in to help innocents. Bulls**t. The war was founded on fear of Saddam´s nonexistent weapons. "Help! Maybe Saddam planted a WMD under my bed! I´m too scared to look!"

I have a HP deskjet 3420, the first one broke after 2 months. I had to phone all the way to Brussels to get a new one (true story) since they didn´t have any in stock in Europe and had to order it from the U.S. The ink cartridges last a reeally long time, btw.

The campaigns are really long, I´m about 10 missions into both (allies and axis) campaigns. But be warned, about every fourth mission...or actually, *map* is used in both campaigns once. It doesn´t really matter, each time you fight in a completely different part of the map and have different objectives and conditions, and the maps are high quality, but still...they´re the same. No matter. The character editor is pretty nice, you can choose from 20+ uniforms for each gender (okay, so a few are civilian skins or just ridiculous), but the FACE editor is the really good one. You can adjust different things with sliders, like gender, age, race (caucasian-asian-african), chins, brows, nose, hair, facial hair, facial damage (or camo), glasses/goggles and some more that I don´t quite remember. And there are more SMGs, rifles, pistols, MGs, bazookas, medical supplies, pistols, melee weapons, explosives etc. than you can ever have time to use! Same thing with the characters.

I´ve been playing this game for over a week now, and I could go on for pages about different things, but the only thing that matters is: BUY IT. Now I must go play it even more...a classic.

Are you serious? Tell me, are you in the military? It's easy to say something like that when it's not you who has to risk his life. You just watch it live on CNN yelling: "Bring it on!" I agree. What a brave soldier, fighting the war all the way from his computer. Yes, this thread has been pretty stale for quite some time.

By the way, how is 1.1 progressing? Are you still working on new units, planning new units or making a campaign? I just wonder in what kind of phase you are in. I hope to see some real Finnish terrain.

After playing Max Payne 2 and Silent Storm I´ve realized that dynamic physics are the light, not photorealistic graphics.

Right...from what I understand, all the play areas are more or less the same as in JA2. Still, could be fun. Well, has anyone purchased the full version of Silent Storm yet? The Finnish magazine Pelit gave it 94/100 and a "recommended" stamp. Now, Pelit is a quality magazine and the reviewer is an old JA2 fan. SS should get to my town about next week, I can´t wait to get my hands on it.

I found this strange. in this topic:Here Blackdog was PRd 48 hrs for an outburst, which later edited. After he had edited his post others quoted it, so he couldn´t make it go away. Now I´m not going to comment if it was right or wrong, but I distinctly remember a time when FSpilot received a PR for deliberately quoting someone´s flame post so it wouldn´t matter if it was edited. A mod called him childish or something like that. Why were they treated differently? Sorry if I missed something essential.

Cheap broadband my arse, 57e/month for a lousy 1Mbps/512Kbps without transfer limits. Yeah, you´re confusing us with Sweden... And it´s not that cold, the temperatures usually range from -25 to +25 Celsius. It´s a much more varied and fun climate than perpetually rainy and chilly England...(another stereotype?)

That´s probably why 1st SFOD-Delta use the Blackhawk and not the Pavehawk, they´re not interested in those high-tech thingies that they don´t understand, and after all they´re not that important compared to CSAR teams.  [/light sarcasm] I think you´re talking about the "standard" UH-60 Blackhawk, Defender, while the reeally expensive ones (more so than the Pavehawks if I understand it correctly) MH-60Ks are also Blackhawks. Ah, all I know is that my inquisitive mind isn´t quelled yet!

@Tigershark: Yes, but if we look at it IRL, why doesn´t the USAF use Blackhawks or vice versa? What are these differences in avionics that you mention? Otherwise very informative post.
