Is this the right place to discuss the released beta grass? Well, my opinion about that is, it looks great but you can't fight in it. I don't know the technical side of how it is created to reduce lag, etc. but when you fire or throw grenades, about every other shot ends up impacting/exploding in the middle of the field! It's because the bullet touches some part of the grass that's part of some technical...thingamajig. Also, I was doing a recreation of the grass ambush in Saving Private Ryan...after I hit a halftrack with a bazooka round all the Germans, who were wounded in the legs and couldn't stand, poured out of the vehicle and lay down in the grass and started shooting at me. The thing is, I couldn't hit them and they couldn't hit me! Damn OFP engine...

Eh? I think you've got it wrong, my friend. Gollum is the name of the creature that the former hobbit Smeagol has turned into due to the effect of the Ring. Gollum (who gets his name from the coughing sounds he often makes) has a split personality, and the kinder Smeagol sometimes surfaces. Gollum and Smeagol are the names in the English version and many other languages also, it isn't just in the French version of the book. Gollum is not = Smeagol, but it's close. BTW in Finnish Gollum's name is Klonkku (pronounced KLONKku) Hope that cleared things up. Edit: And I don't have a habit of stealing jewelry just because my name is Gollum! Something for Goeth: Since the East Border map is supposed to be inland, it's pretty much impossible to do missions on the edge of the map since you can see the OFP sea, ruining the setting. What I propose for this map, in fact for all maps, is to put low hills all around the edges of the map. This way, the sea would be hidden except for aircraft.

Right now, we have 4 sides, West, East, Res, Civ, and we can't create new ones! A team system like in the "skirmish" mode of, for example, the Command & Conquer games would be practical. You can create as many teams as you like and then decide which teams they will be friendly to and which sides they will be hostile to. I bet this could be adapted to OFP2.

F*ck PC gamer! Most gaming magazines, especially that one, are walking advertising brochures, they get an advertisement from the game dev and then post it as a "hype" or "preview" article. Not surprisingly, according to those articles, games like H&D2 and Black&White will bring about world peace, end famine etc. Well, getting a bit OT now... My favorite MP game besides OFP is Day of Defeat, the WW2 HL mod. Not perfect, but I like...the realism. I'm not playing it anymore, though. F*ck Steam! Â Edit: If only DoD had Russians...*dreams*

JAM is a great concept (especially HD for AI! yay!) but IMO it does need a bit of tweaking. For example, the sound for the Soviet 7.62 for the PK and RPD...it's too *beefy*, while rifles sound very weak, like ripping paper. Rifle fire does sound sharp IRL, but you forgot the bang mixed in there. :P I do know what I'm talking about. I think the FDF m16 sound is the way it should sound. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work.

If you're referring to the remarks about the appearance, don't take it too seriously! We're just bored. And the existing M4s/m16s can be upgraded to be VERY reliable(I've heard... ).

I guess that's why the Soviets were slaughtered in Afghanistan. The only thing Afghans didn't have were Su-25s, Mi-24s, BMPs, T-64s, Spetz Naz...actually, the only thing they had were AKs and RPGs. Â That's a completely false argument. A10s can't fight guerrilla wars. They can't hold ground or win the support of the local population. Agree with Heavy Metal, the U.S sure isn't getting bang for its buck! Just upgraded M4s and M16a4 instead of M16a2 would be much cheaper and almost as effective, plus U.S troops are accustomed to them!

@Goob Sissi isn't an abbreviation, so it's spelled with caps off. Also, Masi and Rasi consist of two words, the Si being Sisu, the company which makes the trucks. So actually it would be MaSi and RaSi, but they're spelled Masi and Rasi, caps off. (Pasi, same thing) Sorry to nitpick. @FDF: I haven't found any new units that actually use the new weapons PPscH-41, RK-95 VV2000 and Barrett(?). I almost forgot they were there! Maybe you should equip the Special Jaegers with the VV2000 and some Reservists should have PPscH?

Are there black Apaches IRL? I always thought they were dark green...
