Does anyone else have trouble figuring out how to use all the new optics? I think a PDF/html document with the addon that explains how to adjust your range to target etc. would be very, very useful.

I agree that the SAW has way too low recoil. I mean, I was playing with FDF mod with increased recoil and the SAW was like a sniper rifle while standing up.

Aaah, I'm in awe of the beautiful units that you have created. My favorite soldier is the Patrol Spetznatz, with the AKS74U with optics and GL! I can't really find anything wrong with the pack, everything is just about perfect, except that I would prefer the units to have standard icons in the editor instead of the large and ungainly branch symbols. Oh and the ROF of the M249 is so high that the sounds always skip for me. Not your fault, it's that damn patch, was it 1.90? Great work, anyways, going to be playing with these for a loong time.

Silmarillion would be an overdose of Middle Earth stuff, and not many people have read it compared to LOTR. It would be mooore of the same, really, and not even with ONE plot like in LOTR. Sorry, commercial suicide, IMO. And would Peter Jackson want to be know as the "tolkien guy" for the rest of his life, not to mention be straight out FED UP with Middle Earth after being a workaholic because of it for 6 years? But the Hobbit would be a very cool children's movie!

@Freddern: You need to set the amplifier on DTS mode, too! You should be able to switch modes through your amplifier's remote control. Only then will it decode and output the signal it's getting from the DVD. Of course, you need to select the DTS from the LOTR DVD setup menu, too. You should also be able to switch soundtracks in the middle of the movie by pressing the "Audio" button on your DVD remote control! Hope that cleared things up, I don't have a surround system myself, just a 21" TV, a Philips micro-hifi stereo, hifi headphones and a cheap but very good Baier DVD player. But my friend has a hifi 5.1 system with 32" TV at his apartment, so... Have you noticed that they play the same damned theme over and over and over again in all three LOTR films? You know the one! Baa badabaaa badabaaaaaaa BABABAAA BABABAA BABABAAA BAA BA BAA bababaaa etc. Ahem.

I've finally decided to start posting pics here, my pics will 0wn most of the pics here. Nah, just kidding, but I do have a problem first. PM me if you can help. I'm having difficulty uploading any files over HTTP or FTP, for example I can't attach attachments at all in services like hotmail, I can't send files over MSN messenger, but I can by POP3 server in Outlook express. This started about two weeks ago, can't imagine what triggered it. And of course I can't upload pics to hosting services (I've tried three!) I've tried it with two browsers, same thing, there's just no activity 2 seconds after I click the attach/upload button, then after about a minute of no activity it says 404. I've turned off all of my firewalls and such and fiddled with my DSL router (no firewall there). My downloads and regular web browsing work fine. So if you think you can help, please PM me. Back to posting, now, and sorry for the OT. I do have loads of thought-out, nice pics just waiting to be set loose.

The ending was so incredibly happy and sickly sweet that I should have been laughing, but I was just so happy for all the characters that I was grinning like an idiot. Remember this on the Pelennor?: "That still only counts as one!" Ok, predictable, but the whole theater laughed so I did too.

Hmm really? Because i saw an interview with Peter Jackson Where he predicted the DVD movie to be around 30 minutes longer. (Obviously excluding behind the scenes and stuff like that.) I heard that the ES for ROTK would be longer than the other two (the two others had about 45 min new footage, right?), but not 6 hours!. Maybe you confused it with the director saying that he would have had to have a 6 hour cut to fit all the things in the book in. Or not. Link?

I'd say, go for the Audigy. No need for Audigy 2 unless you have a hifi system or if you're seriously involved in both creating music and gaming. I have a SB Live! 5.1 myself, and ever since I got Win XP pro, I get lots of miscellaneous sound problems in OFP. OFP is the only game i have problems with, though. I should get an Audigy myself, I should be able to get one for 60 euro.

Same here, but I went anyway. @Goob No need to boycott it, it's just that if they released it 45 minutes longer in the theater, no theater would have it! You're really missing out, the EE's (extended editions) are soo much better. So I got about 3 hours sleep right now, but let me tell you, it was Worth It. Words can't describe. It's not perfect, of course, but it's a unique experience. The LOTR trilogy is now my favorite movie (yes, I see it as one movie). You can't show the director anything but respect for what he and the crew have accomplished here. And people, unless you have a digital video projector and 6.1 DTS sound at home...see it in the theater first, not on DVD. TRUST me.

Ingame right ? Â Â I like how every weapon in DoD is great if used the right way, in the sense that every weapon has its advantages and disadvantages. My favorites are K98 (I shout out in glee everytime I hit someone with the bayonet! :P)/L-Enfield, Thompson and MG34 (accurate, especially on D-Day). Also, the game manages to hide the inherent ugliness of the HL engine pretty well, except for that godawful forest map.

Oh ok, sorry. But it is under I44 in the editor. And those pics are looking great! Especially that sniper...hoowee! Great that some high-quality Eastern Front stuff is being made.
