I don't know about that, I'm playing with the FDF and CSLA complete armed forces all the time. But I guess UKF has been in development a much shorter time so it might run a bit close to OFP2 (whenever that comes out). I can only speak for myself, but I can't see myself using these units as separate addons in MP, it's just hell to get everyone to download several addons instead of a mod.

Perfect textures, perfect models. I see you use JAM for the weapons, that's OK but I don't fancy the sounds much and it feels strange firing the Gimpy and Minimi from the hip (actually, from the shoulder) with no recoil. Why use an SA-80 when you can just bring an MG along for all your long-range and CQB needs? The units are good in and of themselves, but it's difficult to use them for missions when they don't come with any vehicles. IMO it would be a better solution to release the whole package with helicopters, like armor, soft vehicles and helicopters as a mod than as a trickle of addons that are a mess to update and increase addon dependencies. edit: read the readme. I think the beret and camo selections should be off by default, though.

Oh really? Can you put bulletholes in a window without "faking it", or execute a small explosion near a building without it killing everything inside and leaving the house without a scratch without this addon? Really, I'd like to hear how you can do this without "faking" it.

About the addons: Okay, you want to use the "best available" addons, so you want the Abrams and Bradley that were NOT used in Afghanistan to any large extent, did you consider that it will already be a hell to get people to get people to dowload EVERY addon on that list even without those vehicles that aren't there IRL? I have all those addons, but many people I know have about 3 of them, if that many, and would be interested in playing the campaign, but maybe not as to download that many separate addons, FDF is big too but it is still one pack. Really, considering that there are too many addons already IMO you don't need more of them that are there just because they are nice? Why do we need the T-64 pack, I thought Russian T-64's were not used in Afghanistan at all, or to any large extent? Correct me if I'm wrong. If the Marine AP is required, I hope the weapons will be used by all units, since the weapons of that pack are superior to BAS/JAM weapons IMHO, and it would be a shame to see those beautiful M249's and M16A2's just lying unused. Love the addition of the F-15, that's a great plane. Looking forward to the campaign anyway, I think it will be great.

Phh...this topic has been discussed so many times. I think a tiny update like this would make NO money and break all the old addons and missions for OFP, just wait for OFP2.

I can imagine, I've heard it described as training (Americans) vs emotion (Iraqis).

Addons?

To cetain extent, they do flank. While planning their route, they try to avoid areas which they now are being watched by enemy forces - which often makes them avoiding head-to-head encounters and resulting in something like "flank". I did not know that. It's always good for a coop player to get information about how enemies think.

Please STGN, like denoir said no-one is seriously disputing the superiority of the G36, the discussion is more about how much of a better rifle the U.S military would get compared to the cost of buying hundreds of thousands of new rifles.

Looks good. Piece of general advice, if you want anyone to use them the weapon should be included in a large mod/pack.

Kegetys' home page states that some of his work is being used in VBS. It wasn't totally clear if it was addons or the aforementioned spectating script.

Eh, still remember that VBS is not supposed to replace OFP so don't let the "dissing" get too out of control.
