At least I have reflections disabled by default, in my experience they can drain your FPS even if you don't see water. The FPS hit isn't IMO worth it, anyway, I just use the image-quality enchancements like PP (I CANNOT play OFP without hard light), night fix, trilinear, etc.

That sounds like a MOH game I think you have to look at moh games not from a realism standpoint but from a fun standpoint, because it is basically quake with wwii weapons. [rant]Yes, but the game devs don't seem to think so, in the intro of the demo, it said How arrogant and stupid. The game also comes with a documentary disc. Btw the intro of the game also said that the Guadalcanal fighting was "the worst" in history, not "some of" the worst. Highly debatable. [/rant]

This demo is quickly explained. There are iron sights, the default binding is left alt. It is COD in the pacific with shiny graphics. I didn't know the Japanese oiled their uniforms and faces to shine and mirror in the sun, or it's just the shader effects. The demo is 500 megs, and you play it through in 10 mins, less if you're good. I shit you not, there are two places, an airstrip and a few huts. In 10 minutes you shoot down 20 Jap planes with a .50 cal and mow down 300 Jap infantry with a Thompson (OK, actually maybe just 100). I actually beat a squad to death that was charging me with bayonets, they came in a column so I smacked the first in the face, the second, the third etc. and wasn't hit once myself. ....500 megs = 10 MINUTES. Nothing surprising here. edit: Does it take about 3 minutes for anyone else to load the main menu?

Not only that, but try bringing your gun around that fast, because that is what the character does in OFP. I actually bet the character turns FASTER than Skumball would in real life in that situation. So what I think: No.

well, for one he uses the ducktape mod ( see screen of the "about to be shotgunned" guy) and maybe he couln't handle it and uppened his brightness? well, he can do that but it takes away SO MUCH from the game... i played it without brightening the screen up (and without the flashlight ducktaped to my rifles) and WOW! First, I use the Super Doom 3 mod 0.4a, not the simple duct-tape mod. A 22nd century Marine not equipped with NVGs, let alone a flashlight when shooting (only with pistol, shotgun, SMG, chaingun), is, well...silly. Secondly, the brightening option in D3 only increases contrast, it doesn't remove shadows or actually increase gamma or brightness significantly, it is so that you have to play the game the way it is supposed to be. Thirdly, yes I brightened a few pics in Photoshop CS so you can see something.

The Naval Infantry in MAP are supermodern with exclusively M models of the AK/RPK with Cobra and 1p29 optics, Sfera helmets etc. Snypa, the point is that you can't use these as Soviet-era soldiers, that would be silly.
