It's a specular map with higher bit depth apparently. Regular spec map I'm familiar with, but this I don't know what tools there is for. Anyone know? Also, I'm having some glitches with a normal map. It's sort of flickering between on and off when moving around. Here's how it looks on my model, top one is with and the other without normalmap. It changes depending on which angle it gets lit. Anyone know what's going on? Is it because I don't have a smdi yet or is it texture compression?

Yeah! I'd like to see tracers specified in the type of magazine you use. Also, there could be a toggle for realistic tracers so you could have them for all weapons like now or just for those with tracer ammo. Then everyone would be happy

Three magical feature wishes: *Thermal Imaging/Flir *Individual weapon animations; no more hands sticking through grenade launchers *Realistic tracers If I had to choose three (hopefully)reasonable features to add, it would be these.

Do you even play this game or do you spend all day shitting up threads on this forum? Just curious.

Good job! It's looking really promising. The specularity needs to be toned down a tad, obviously Are you going to add a spec-map to it? On that object it would have to be pretty subtle. But it takes away the shiny plastic feel when done right.

Dude, you have no idea what a flame is. Sorry. Edit: I think you missed my point entirely. It's a entirely subjective statement that's only true if you think it is. And if you do, you have some kind of persecution complex stemming from insecurity. Whatever opinion you have has nothing to do with it.
-
Who's saying this? You are. You are basically stating; "if they don't agree with me then they're FANBOYS". You realize by acting like this you actually behave exactly like the supposed people you don't like. It's very insecure behavior. Eh, I tried anyway.

Though, if you've been following Luciano and his amazing posting career you'd know that he is a giant troll rather than a opinionated person that actually has something worthwhile to say.

Try Kegetys Photoshop plugin, PAAplug. Link: http://www.kegetys.net/arma/

That's frequency you're thinking about. Pitch is the 'tone' caused by frequencies and it doesn't work like that. The game uses a lowpass filter to cut higher frequencies which produces a muffled sound. I think the best way to achieve realistic gunfire would be to use different samples according to the distance they're emitted. So you could use reverberated(preferably real recordings from a distance) sounds for those far away shots.

Nice! Have you done any ingame tests yet?

Jeez, for a guy named Unhappy Gamer you sound really bitter.

But, I thought I was supposed to stop comparing things. Oh Luciano, can you ever set us straight?!

This sentence is just pure brilliance.

No, wikipedia would be the best place to suggest changes to a wikipedia page. If you don't know how or are willing to learn(how to read) then just give up. Don't try to make other people do work for you.

Why make a thread about it here when you could just post here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Armed_Assault
-
From that page: I hope that they meant to say that it's the latest version.
-
Well sure, if Arma was a complete sim I wouldn't argue against that too. But it's not. So I just don't see how a small feature like that could do nothing but enhance the gameplay. I'd love to have it work like in Enemy Engaged which is a pretty nice heli sim.

So, you think the "manual fire" option is ok but not having an option to be able to move the sight with trackir? That's ridiculous.
-
TrackIR aiming would be pretty sweet.

Somehow I don't think you fully grasp the concept of positivity.

^^^^ Totally jealous.

They mostly are. They have one generic hand position to fit them all which mostly works until you get a weapon that's held in a different way. It would be great if modders could have the capability to change the animations for individual weapons. It seems obvious when comparing to other games but I guess this engine, being based on such an old engine, that it's really hard to implement.
