Make the support action work?
Gaswell replied to erfworm's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
You need to add support units (medics, ambulances, support trucks), and you need to have them reach a SUPPORT waypoint. Once they do, and you call for the relevant support, they'll come rushing to your location. -
Go to Codemasters' site and click the "Download now" link on the main page. If you're talking warez, I can tell you to go somewhere else, but you sound like a nice, honest person so that's probably not called for. http://www.codemasters.com/flashpoint/gold/eng-index.php

... which is what I'm doing right now. For your information, Red Hammer has become available as a download from Codemasters' site.

Too bad you can't give armor or aircraft support waypoints and then be able to request fire support...

Look, a leet-speaking geek! Don't let him get away!

Is "Creative Soundblaster live (value)" a problem ?

Brass, don't you get the footsteps bug when using hardware accel? What OS are you running, and which SB Live! chipset do you have? -

My SB Live! Value has ruined my sex life... but I'm not giving you my system specs. Footsteps... I hear footsteps in my head! From far away lands! -
Just you wait until that download becomes available. I'll throw bandwidth at it pronto.

Just got in, but no download available. Site seemed to be pretty slow.

I gathered from another thread that there may be some friendly fire fix in the next patch also. Fratricide is currently my #1 problem with OFP, so that would be very good news indeed.

I'll still be playing OFP regularly two years from now, same way as I still play Total Annihilation skirmishes whenever I crave some decent RTS. I've played enough games to know the good from the bad and the ugly.

BIS - Pleses implement a \'lean\' movement
Gaswell replied to 84 Charlie MoPic's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This sounds like a major re-write. You'd even need new motion capture done for the animations. Maybe OFP2. Can't say that I've ever felt the need to lean myself, though... -
There's no platoon-level command structure in OFP, so no, that can't be done. Unless you're heavily into scripting, that is.
-
Pete is right; as you zoom in on the game's map (not the PDF) the grid's granularity changes as the lettering goes from A, B, C, etc. to Aa, Ab, Ac, etc. What distance does a "large" grid square (say, from D5 to D6) represent, and what distance does the "smaller" grid squares (from Df56 to Dg56) represent?

After the nightmarish navigation in "B17 II: The Mighty Eight" I find that using the map in OFP is pure joy.

That mission originally (at least in Euro release) had a bug where those spec ops wouldn't follow you around. That could explain why you don't get a full squad leader orders menu. Have you downloaded the latest patches?

I'm just learning how to use the DESTROY waypoint properly (don't laugh) and I've noticed a problem: Once a group gets to a DESTROY waypoint, they'll attack EVERYTHING present near the waypoint, including not only friendlies, but also themselves(!). Try this; make a two-man group (AI as leader, #2 as player), give it a DESTROY waypoint some distance away, and add a CYCLE waypoint next to the DESTROY waypoint. Also add a friendly soldier near the waypoints. The AI leader will order a move to the DESTROY waypoint, then call an attack on the poor friendly soldier present nearby, and finally complete the day by either attacking you, or ordering you to attack him. Pretty disturbing. My question is: Is there any way I can use a DESTROY waypoint and NOT risk attacking friendlies? For example, I don't want my tanks attacking their own recon. (Yep, that's me in the BRDM, scouting ahead of my tanker buddies). The DESTROY waypoint has a lot of nice properties, but I don't want my own guys fighting themselves...

Interesting. Think I'll try those double quotes.

That's the way it is in Veteran mode. Look for terrain features and compare them to the map. It takes a bit of practice, but it is certainly possible. Quite fun too, in my opinion.

How do i assign a group to a vehicle? (cargo)
Gaswell replied to Mouse's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
If "grp=group this", then it really doesn't matter whether you type "units grp" or "units group this". Either way it still represents an array of units. -
You're welcome.
