I'm running Arma via Bootcamp (I use a MacBook Pro, core 2 duo, 3GB ram) with XPsp2 and do very well. Vista's not really needed.

Still loving that original pic of the Arleigh Burke DDG. With what you're doing for Arma I'm surprised you haven't been offered a job yet.

Which it was why a rhetorical question posed of Gnat! Not others. It was first brought up in this very thread....somewhere around Pg 4 I think. So as not to make numerous threads about the same subject I thought I'd ask my rhetorical question here....appropriate, dont you think?

Any thoughts on making an LCAC or LCU for amphibious landings?

I still have OFP installed. I think the B.A.S. Tonal add-ons were the best! Would love to see Tonal remade for Arma. Also I still play Harpoon 2 and 688 (attack sub). I have somewhere around here Realms of Arkania and some of the old Ultima games (EAT THAT Oblivion!! lol) While we're talking old school, I just re-read Red Storm Rising (Tom Clancy) for about the 6th time.

Anytime Gnat! Your addons are awesome, just wanted to help with what little knowledge I have BTW, the "one armed bandit" looks awesome (forward MK 13 mount)!

BEAUTIFUL !! I'm assuming this is still beta right? Well the OHP FFG-7 class guided missile frigates only have one screw, I saw a pair of water cavitation behind the model. Picky I know, but the rest of the model is so great I'd hate to see that accidently overlooked. Meathead, yes we still use various alarms aboard ship. There the General Quarters alarm, Collision alarm and, CBR alarm. Anyway, Gnat, you skills are awesome!

So, I've been toying around with Blender for a few weeks now and I'm blown away by how user friendly it is. I'm far from an expert, more like not so new noob (lol). My point is that it is much easier to make 3d models in Blender than O2 and they can be imported into O2 as 3ds. Has anyone else tried this? I have a few designs that i've been working on (not wholly of my own design, but also not copyrighted) and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I just wish there was an easier way to texture (like paint on textures) and an easier way to set Geo lod, etc.

I have the trial version of 3ds, Blender is much nicer to my wallet (free) LOL! I wonder if we could create a 3d model depository?

It seemed a pretty straightforward thing importing 3ds files into O2. I was able to download 3ds Max today and was toying around with some ship models. I'll have to do a bit more research to figure out what else to do, but I have  a basic patrol craft as well as a battleship model. NEW Downloaded Blender and am loving it! I can make decent 3d models, but suck when it comes to Geo LODS and texturing. Maybe I can make the models and someone can texture??

I see your point, I played the hell out of my OFP games, so much that I rebought them anytime the discs got damaged. I'd hate to see them get sidetracked too, but more exposure means more money and hopefully more money = more and better OFP games.

Q: any chance we'll see ArmA on the XBOX 360? Searched but couldnt find...
