[SP/MP] Dynamic Whole Map ArmA3 Missions by SaOk
Furret replied to SaOk's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
How polite! -
This is why I was hoping for big things from the new nvidia driver, it apparently improves draw call performance. From what I've seen it unfortunately has very little impact.
-
There is a measurable improvement for people who have cores parked and then unpark them. Your anecdote provides nothing of value to the people looking for help in this thread. If it means someone is dissuaded from trying core unparking, you've actively hurt someone's changes at improving their arma experience. Edit: In more positive news, Nvidia is releasing a new driver tomorrow (7th) that promises to lower the overhead the CPU has on the GPU. It should work for high end 6xx and 7xx cards to some extent. http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/74838
-
Your personal experience does not prove core unparking is ineffective, only you were not experience core parking.
-
Core parking is not a redundant parameter and cannot be compared.
-
I believe you are incorrect. Under certain situations performance can be improved.
-
Look into turning off core parking. The exthread parameter will not damage your computer, I would image it's set to 7 by default. based on your CPU.

Obligatory question regarding the object drawing optimisations, who came up with them? BI or BISim? if BISim, will we see them utilised on BI games?
-
Take a look at the old bug tracker, it has nearly identical issues dating back years.
-
Is the mission filling up the rpt file and causing I/O saturation? this cause cause FPS problems.
-
Try contacting the creators of the Altis Life mission and see if there's anything they can do to lower the hit their scripts have. Try playing on a stronger server / server running the performance binaries.
-
Having a average to high PC and still having lower FPS then someone with lesser specs
Furret replied to Pek's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
You need to compare like for like. MP vs SP isnt a fair comparison, FPS can vary significantly between servers (differing binaries). And sorry about your processor :( -
CPU and GPU overclocking does sweet f a.
Furret replied to Polymath820's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
You don't get a uniform % increase for all applications, it'll vary for each piece of software you try. Applications that are limited by the performance of one core (arma3) will benefit significantly. So take your hyperbole and leave. -
Look at this guy right here.

Please share with us your ideas for optimising the RV engine.

Task manager
-
triple buffering is supported, I remember a post by Dwarden saying so, it may require a flag to be set in the config file.
-
People are confusing problems again, we have this issue every 10~ pages. Low FPS in single player is a different issue to low FPS in multiplayer. Improving your computers hardware will not help low FPS in multiplayer but WILL help to some extent in single player. It would really help everyone to give as much information regarding your low FPS, mission, sp/mp, players in server, server hardware, number of AI, etc.
-
Everyone has terrible performance under certain conditions, yeah.
-
(It's not a RAM issue) This is more a mission problem + engine limitation, your best chance for help is to ask in the mission thread. You could try: Get the owner of the server you play on to use the performance server binaries. Get the mission maker to optimise his scripts.
-
Into the server? I don't follow. Does the problem occur in single player/different servers? Made the RAM 4gb? you added additional ram, or so you mean page file? Made it use all your CPUS? are you running a multi processor system? Try updating graphics card drivers and run the game in borderless windowed mode, if possible.

Large Number of AI and heavy firefight, physic simulation and game engine limitation?
Furret replied to wasserkool's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Oh you! related link: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147533-Low-CPU-utilization-amp-Low-FPS -
Increase the size of your page file, 4gb or more should be sufficient.
-
Check temps of components, might be overheating. If running mods/non-default missions: disable them and run vanilla, see if problems persist.
-
Provide more information if you want help.
