I saw that the press is handling it as the sequel while they cal your work "theyr own thing", so you can call your lawyer :). But sad that the writer of the preview haven't play OFP, it seems he even don't know it. About the preview: Sounds nice. The wounding system and the respective effects seems to be interesting. Also there are difficulty option that affect the UI-information. And a built-in artillery strike. 35km visibility, bullet penetration system that simulate the different calibre and even the lead AI designer aren't able do walk 100m without beeing shoot by someone :). Yes that is what i've expected from OFP2. Not a 1 to 1 copy of the original, but an interpretation of it by CM. Now i just hope that both "fractions" will release soon a demo, almost just as "hardware check", because it's out of question that i will buy both games :).

At least he doesn't insult anyone or had attack directly some other opinion. He just tell his opinion. While you need to attack him, so who is antagonizing who? And yes, i share his opinion. Maybe we are just two that think so, but we have the right to tell our opinion and are able to do it without insulting. If you don't care don't read it. Or did you all just expect words like: "Blame CM, blame CM, blame CM. And hail to BIS!!!". No, there will allways be someone with another opinion, so lern to deal with it! OT: I also think that Jets are a bit "overpowered" for an island, of course CAS is a important point in todays warfares, but for a game it is enough to let a Chopper handle this job. Civilians are a thema fo it self. I agree that they would increase the athmosphere of a "war simulation", but we also must see that's a disputed thema. Some countrys and some societies don't like to see civilians in such games where the player are able to "amuse" hisself by slaughting them. That have nothing to do with gameplay, just with moral (i don't share that moral but CM seems to do). I see it positiv, my pc don't have to spend ressources for theyr polygons and AI :).

That's realy just "a bit", if you buy one. But military need a few dozen, so the little difference of ~36 Million is multiplicated. 360 million for ten as example, that can't be called "just a bit more" anymore.

A name define a sequel. If CM would make an "OFP: CWC2-Guba's return!", they could. Because it's theyr name. BIS could still "adapt" a story sequel, but they are not allowed to call it "OFP:....". Just like Monolith and "F.E.A.R.", they had to buy the name back before theyr "Project origin" was named back and sold as "F.E.A.R. 2". For me ArmA isn't a sequel, it's an other game with the same features as OFP. Jesus yes, it's hard to understand. Or, no isn't. I understand but i have another opinion about. Your point is yours, mine is mine. What have Jesus to do with this all ;).

True, examples? WWII: German was way more sophisticated, Impulse engines, ME-262 Jets, flying wing aircrafts and the first "cruise Missile" types (V1 and V2). But they loose though. And a most popular example, Vietnam: Here were the US more sophisticated, but who "win"? (here we must be aware that no side realy can win a war, there are just sides with "less" casualties) ;)

People who played OFP know very well who have make it, you (and BIS too) just fears that the younger generation don't know it. But who cares about that "BF2-kiddys"? Oh wait, they pay too, right? So BIS don't care about the principles or that we "older" fans don't know who's the real producer. They smell lesser money. That's all, that's sad. So 99% of the people are stupid? A daring statement.

I think that would shock Sukhoi instead of the F22 performance... a Flanker is ordinary... :D

Of course, i've registered in Feb. 05 just to blaim ArmA2 now... But before both got theyr "shares", BIS had to change some publisher. So who needed who more than the other? ;) I think i can be called Fanboy, yes. Fan of OFP and Arma, i like the work that BIS is doing and can't wait for the release of ArmA2. But the same count for OFP: DR and CM.

Then tell me what i have to know please. But in a normal kind and not in such CS-slang ;). Ok? thanks, bye ;)

In this case, where a big company has give to a small studio the opportunity to prove his self, left him the right to autonomy and to the most parts of the software and product as well as the permission to still use the name "Operation Flashpoint" for marketing (how it's wrote on the ArmA box), yes. I think here came publishing right near to charity. I also think we are conscious that BIS now could be called "EA-Prague" or something similar if they has "dealed" with another publisher ;).

I think Boomar is right. The most posts in this thread sounds like "BIS is god and CM nothing worth and a lier". But most forget something: Where would BIS now be, if CM had not publisht OFP? Would that studio still exist or would the talented developers be degradet to program boring office-software for third-party companys? So it's unimportant if OFP: DR would beat ArmAII or not, if CM lies or exaggerates with marketing, we all should be thankful for that they have give BIS a chance nine years ago to show the world what they can. Don't blame CM that much, they don't deserve it :).

I think the US governement know better then anyone else what they need and what not. If they cancel the F22 then there will be some reasons that we don't have to know or understand. If good and superior or not, that aircraft is ugly :D. I like more "natural"-designs instead of "the computer say that have to look so"-designs. @Saint Warrior You realy speak like a paranoic general while the 70s - 80s. Just to know, the cold war is over and Russia IS NOT a hostile anymore (if they ever was is an other question ;)). The countrys that your governement declare as hostile, are it just because of the natural ressources that they have and USA want to conquer. Of course they invent reasonable and plausible reasons to attack (Iraq has nuklear weapons as example ;)), but noone realy believe it (how many NATO members are in Iraq? 4 or 5? from 28... not the majority). That proof how credible that gov. was while the Bush "dinasty". I just hope Obama makes it better. Greetz Fumo
