    30 minutes sounds about right as to what we were experiencing... Maybe you could bump it up to 45 minutes or an hour? I understand the need for a time limit, but take for instance this example we experienced the other night. Took a CSAR mission. After planning it out and outfitting the squad, we had to take a little bird around the far south part of the island, up along the coast to the NE corner of the northern island. All of this to avoid the blanket of AA coverage. Just as we actually landed, we got the 5 minute warning. Quickly dispatched the squad protecting the hostage and had an AI bring the helicopter forward, which he promptly crashed. So there we were, out in the middle of nowhere with no wheels. We decided to fight our way to the nearest town and try to get some transportation from there. Alas, the timer ran out far before we even had a chance to get the hostage back to the base. This could have been a rather interesting mission with your random conflict script (is it in 3.0? Hadn't noticed yet...) and the large distance we had to cover to return the hostage back to the base.

    Didn't notice this mentioned anywhere else... It seems like the missions are expiring awfully quickly. By the time we gear up, get to the objective and devise a quick plan, we get the "you have 5 minutes left to complete the mission" notice. Don't know if it's a factor of having the server set for 4hr days... so the mission is expiring 6 times as fast as it should?

    FYI, We run the 4-hr MH6-R mode on our server exclusively. If you're in a good playing session, it allows you to play through a full day night cycle, or at least a majority of one, in one sitting.

    Regarding Atari patch 1.08

    Just an FYI for the US Atari digital download users, I got the 1.08 update from the fangaming link and installed it without incident. Game runs fine and is currently at version 1.08.5163. I also mirrored the patch on my site. http://www.teamfcf.com/downloads/AA/ArmA_USUpdate_108.zip

    1.08 performance increase!

    I must say, I am definitely impressed with this patch. I went from all settings at normal (tex. detail @ high) to everything at high or very high @ 1920x1200 resolution and the view distance set to 5000. No more LOD issues and it only takes a fps hit when in the densest of forests, and even then it's not unplayable... just noticable. 1.08 dramatically increases the performance on my 8800GTX. Current Specs: E6700 2Gb RAM eVGA 8800GTX 768Mb eVGA 680I Mobo

    KilJoy, Could you possibly add an option for the time scaling for a 4-hr day... maybe even 6 or 12? I love the shortened days, but the rapid transitions from light to dark and back in the 1 hr days have most people in my server bitching up a storm. Just an idea... Love the mission otherwise. Thanks for all your hard work.

    Or you could just go into the ingame options, set the difficulty to custom and adjust the slider bars to your liking.

    US Version runs awsome

    Sorry, I just don't buy what you're saying. I have damn near the same system and my AA runs pretty crappy IMO. E6700, EVGA 680i mobo, 8800GTX, 2GB RAM, X-Fi, WD Raptor, XP SP2, etc. etc. I do run it in 1920x1200, as I know a lot of people are still running at lower resolutions. I get the 8000700e error damn near every 30 minutes or so. I consider it a godsend when I can actually play a mission to it's conclusion. I see textures loading slowly right in front of my face close to everywhere I turn. It's almost like they start at the lowest setting and incrementally work their way up to my set level of detail. Trees, vehicles, buildings, everything ends up the same. I have to have my settings 50/50 on high and normal (save for object detail, which is very high) to make it where I can play without serious stuttering. To me, this is pretty unacceptable for a top of the line system. I don't know if I should blame it on the poor drivers for the 8800gtx or AA itself, but I hope the next patch (or NVidia driver release) addresses some of these issues.

    You, my friend, are an idiot. As previously said, this isn't Battlefield 2, CSS, MoH, or any of the other fairly lame games that pale in comparison to OFP/ArmA. For God's sakes don't try to make it such. One of the main reasons I continue to play OFP to this day are the lack of people such as yourself in the community. Get a clue.

    A new and improved race map inspired by the TT Race map on Everon. Takes place on Nogova. East races towards the finish line while West tries to stop them. West is equipped with helos. Respawn enabled. User selectable time of day. MP only. Can be downloaded in full (addons included) here. Or, the mission only file here.     Helo landing issues

    I didnt have a problem when it came to loading, cause I used a different set of commands to tell the helo to take off. But the problem at hand really bugs me...
  14. Before ya go off on me, its really not a repeat of a question... I have a simple waypoint set that lands a helo and dumps off you (player) and your team. While I'm hosting the game and playing as the leader, the insertion works great, no probs for any player. But if I'm hosting and another person is the leader, the helo gets to the landing WP and just hovers. If I host the game and play by myself with AI and am the leader, it works great. If I play not as the leader it works great. Same with the rest of the people that have tried the mission. Any other combination of leader/not leader/AI works fine. Just the one combo doesnt. I'm totally stumped. Any ideas?

    I realize this might be viewed as somewhat sloppy, but to get my guys to load and make the helo wait, I used a move WP instead of a Load, and then used a radio command to tell the helo pilot to take off. I sync'd the Radio trigger and the move WP after the landing Move WP. It allows you as the leader to get in first, and makes helo wait until all the soldiers are loaded. Works great, even if it is a bit ghetto...
