Laser designators can be used only for infantry and helicopters. They do not work with other simulation classes.<span id='postcolor'> Ah, ok.

EDIT: Silly question, now I've got a better one: The laser designator doesn't work on my tank. I can select it but it doesn't display the red dot and diamond.

Add two vertices to your memory LOD and name them "levy prach" and "pravy prach" and see what that does. Place the vertices behind or nearby the wheels.
-
I'll be releasing it soon, sometime before or after the 30th. The King Cobra has been delayed to make room for this "pack" (it will include the Hunter when i get it done).

One of the first things we checked. :) His UPC code is identical to: 767649400461

This is not a problem I myself am having, but a friend who I recently suggested OFP to. He was able to find the Gold Edition of it, but now is getting a illegal page fault each time he tries to run it. Illegal page fault message: OPERATIONFLASHPOINT caused an invalid page fault in module ~DF394B.TMP at 0167:00ff462b. Registers: EAX=4d35b068 CS=0167 EIP=00ff462b EFLGS=00010202 EBX=01067c58 SS=016f ESP=0098fa58 EBP=0098fa78 ECX=00000001 DS=016f ESI=01066390 FS=307f EDX=011f4360 ES=016f EDI=011f43ac GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 08 d1 e1 8b 55 fc 8b 42 08 33 c1 89 45 f0 83 Stack dump: 01066ff4 01066390 01067c58 4d35b068 4cf5b068 011f4360 4d35b068 4d35b068 0098fac0 00fea7c5 011f4510 40000002 002d5fd0 011f4504 01066ff4 01066390 His system specs are as follows: Motherboard: ASUS A7V Processor: AMD Athlon clocked at 900mhz 128mb RAM Riva TNT2 Model 64 video card Soundblaster Live sound card We're looking through all kinds of FAQs and still can't seem to solve the problem. Any help is appreciated.

Avon's FAQ says, at the start: "When OFP starts up, I get error messages about file ~DF394B.TMP or EF7194.TMP. What's going on?! These files are created by the SafeDisc2 protection mechanism incorporated into OFP's CD." And the illegal page fault: "OPERATIONFLASHPOINT caused an invalid page fault in module ~DF394B.TMP at 0167:00ff462b. Registers: EAX=4d35b068 CS=0167 EIP=00ff462b EFLGS=00010202 EBX=01067c58 SS=016f ESP=0098fa58 EBP=0098fa78 ECX=00000001 DS=016f ESI=01066390 FS=307f EDX=011f4360 ES=016f EDI=011f43ac GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 08 d1 e1 8b 55 fc 8b 42 08 33 c1 89 45 f0 83 Stack dump: 01066ff4 01066390 01067c58 4d35b068 4cf5b068 011f4360 4d35b068 4d35b068 0098fac0 00fea7c5 011f4510 40000002 002d5fd0 011f4504 01066ff4 01066390" In any case though, if he's lucky enough, he'll be having fun playing OFP soon enough.

Well thanks for the help and suggestions everyone. He's going to try to find a different copy and see what he gets. Thanks again!
-
Thanks avon, but we've already looked through that. I'm afraid he's gonna have to find a different copy or return it.
-
He says his CD rom is a: Hitachi CD/DVD Rom GD-7500 Any problems with similar drives and OFP? I *think* he's tried running unpatched, but I'll ask him. If all else fails, he can take it back and get a refund.
-
Correct, every time he launches it gives him a illegal page fault. "or he has a copy of the original CD(hence not original)." What do you mean by this? A corrupt CD maybe? If he got a non-gold edition copy, just a regular copy, would it function? EDIT: He says it gives him a illegal page fault about 20 seconds after he launches, also says that the OFP logo will show and then crash.

Try adding "hasCommander=0" and see what that does.

Here are some early images of a King Cobra gear from Heavy Gear: It's currently unarmed, and I do not plan to put it in game.

My strider pack, featuring the Mammoth Strider, and two versions of the Naga, has been released!
-
Actually, I'd like to make a SA-9, but I'm having more fun making these sci-fi mods.
-
Making it squat won't help; its something to do with the landcontact LODs.
-
It falls over on too steep ground because the land contact LODs aren't wide enough, or are too wide...
-
The way I've got it designed now is that the V key gives you the omnicamera view. But it does sound like it would work well to just "sit" the pilot into the view. I'll experiment and see what I can do; and you said something about beta testing on the other thread...?
-
The controls are basically like a M113 with a higher workload of weapons management and turret control at the same time. Basically, the controls work like this: 1.Get into gear, hit the numpad * key (enables freelook or free moving toros) 2.Use WASD keys to steer and control direction, mouse to control the turret 3.Blow things up!
-
The cockpit view isn't fully completed quite yet, as I'm trying to decide how to do it. By default, the Pilot's head is inside the gears "head", and the other cockpit areas are not very visible. Theres also a dust problem, and I need to figure out how to enable the armor bar, speed bar, etc. so it can be used easier.
-
Impressive! I would recommend darkening the white lines a bit, as they tend to be a bit brighter than they really should be.
-
The strider pack has been updated. Same zip name, read READMEFIRST.txt for changes. Strider Pack 0.2

Make sure your geometry LOD has mass (try a number like 5000 at first) and make sure your geometry LOD has names assigned. If it doesn't, go to structure>topolgy>find components and it will automatically name all the components. Also make sure your geometry LOD is very simple, as in using boxes and blocks + triangles rather than advanced polygons.
-
Well the Naga looks more like a helicopter on legs IMO.
-
Ok, I'll contact you if I need any.
