    Whats the point of different lods

    I basicaly agree with ALL of you, but since I'm allergic to this kind of addon-makers and thus in a bad mood TNX to Scorpo's MiG-29, I will join Kege and say: If you dont want to make lowdetail LODs at all DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH MAKING ANY SINGLE ADDON IN O2! Thats my opinion.... FlipeR

    Jackal326: apart from adding that code into you .CPP I guess you need to add a proxy to the soldier too! I still dont have Res. so i cant be sure, but lets say BiS didnt changed the way soldier models are handled! Open up a DEMO soldier model and see, how to add a Proxy to it... FlipeR

  7. Since I dont think that the free patch will be available IMMEDIATELY after Resistance release, it would be fair to release our addons for a period of time in two versions... I have two versions of my M4A1 Pack1 - the first pack, version 1.98 is for the "old" OFP v.1.46, but the second one is the "final" version 2.0 and will be available immediately after Resistance is released!! The cfgModels section is not that hard to make and it add a lot of possibilities and simplyfie a lot of things... Example: (This was Vipersharts idea!! For those that dont know that - my M4A1 Pack1 have 12 slightly different M4A1 models, the same will be with the M4A1 Pack2, Pack3 and the +Pack! Now - I had to make a P3D for every M4A1 variation - a pain in the ass  But then Vip got a superb idea - WHY DONT WE USE "HiddenSelections" option?!?! And I tried....with no success....WHY? With looking at the Soldier model I found out why. Every part that I later wanted to hide/unhide, had to be name-selected in O2 and then configured under cfgModels section in the .CPP! So at that time we could do nothing.... But then OFP MP BETA test came out and I retried - and this with SUCCESS The point: instead of 12 sligthly different .P3Ds I have 1 .P3D  file that drammaticaly cuts down the addon size... FlipeR

    Hmmm I think it is still too small!!! It seems to me that the right size is about 115% of the original one (not the lates resized model)! Try that PSC.... FlipeR

    PCS! I'll send you the LOD1 of the OFP's original BRDM, so you can adjust the sizes! Just give me your mail... As you write yourself, the BTR-80 should be 2 meters LONGER and at least 0.1 meter higher! Judging from the picture you need at least 2-5% of scaling, but you rather wait for my mail with the BRDM model... FlipeR

I also wander how the game decides weather to use those T&L models (and their high-resolution textures) - they can be found under ..\OperationFlashpoint\DTA\HWTL\ - I didnt noticed anything under .CPP that points to special models, when HWT&L enabled!     Plagiators

    I'm not worried about plagiators using my model and reworking them (OK, they are plagiators only if I didnt authorised them before - as I did for Taiwan Workshop guys, when they asked if they could use my lates M4A1 models)! I'm more concerned about those plagiators that USE our models, change textures (or they even leave them as they are), use our .CPPs with slightly changed parameters and release the addon as it was ther work! I had a lot more problems with such plagiarism! But unfortunately I dont see a way of stooping that... If they cant change the model ,they'll change the .CPP or the textures! So the binarising tool (MLOD2ODOL) you all expect so anciously wont help a lot.... Sad but true! FlipeR

    Since you didnt mentioned that kege: L stands for LEFT and P for RIGHT! just to be sure... And we could be more helpfull with "klapky" if you'd tell us which is the model in question!?! FlipeR

    Yes indeed, we could have expected that, because BiS stated in one of their interviews, that the new Resistance island is going to be a BIG one:) I think we'll include this "island size" option in next WRPEdit version.... TNX for pointing that out A-Lone! You're the best as always FlipeR

    Some info about BTR-80 and its versions: BTR-80 Armored Personnel Carrier The BTR-80 is the successor to the BTR-70 and has several significant improvements over the earlier wheeled APCs. The BTR-80 retains the same, boat-shaped hull front, and sloped sides, although the rear deck has been reconfigured by raising the rear and squaring off the rearward-sloping engine compartment. The side-half doors of the BTR-70 have been replaced by full side doors, and the firing ports have been modified to face forward. The BTR-80 has a hull of all-welded steel armor construction. The twin gas engines of the BTR-70 have been replaced by a single, more-powerful diesel engine which give the BTR-80 better performance and lower the risk of fire. The turret, which is similar to that on the BTR-60PB and BTR-70, is armed with the 14.5-mm KPV heavy machine gun and coaxial 7.62-mm PKT machine gun. This turret is improved in that it can be elevated to +60 degrees compared to the +30 degrees of earlier vehicles. The sighting system for the machineguns is improved as well. There are six 81-mm smoke mortars mounted on the rear of the turret which can be fired from inside the vehicle. The full side doors of the BTR-80 are positioned between the second and third axles of the vehicle. Each side door consists of an upper half which opens forward, and the lower half which opens down and forms a step ladder for troops entering or exiting. The upper half of the door is also fitted with a firing port. The crew of the BTR-80 consists of a commander, gunner and driver, and can carry seven infantry men. There are three forward-facing firing ports along the length of the hull, one at the front of the vehicle for the commander, and two in the roof hatches. The front two firing ports are designed for the 7.62-mm PK general purpose machine guns. The remaining firing ports are designed for AKMS/AK-74 individual weapons. The BTR-80 is fully amphibious and has a front-mounted winch, overpressure NBC system, night vision equipment and a central tire-pressure regulation system. VARIANTS: BTR-80K This is the commander's variant of the BTR-80, and is equipped with an 11 meter telescopic mast. The vehicle enables the commander of a motorized rifle battalion to control his unit and maintain communications with the regimental commander. For this purpose it is fitted with two R-163-50U VHF radio sets, two R-159 remote VHF radio sets, and a TNA4-6 type navigational device with an indicator board. BTR-80UNSh The UNSh variant of the BTR-80 was developed as a common base for command and staff duties, for fire control and radar vehicles as well as for mobile radio communication posts. With a wider and raised superstructure, the vehicle gives greater space for operators and additional equipment. BTR-80 Medical Vehicles The BTR-80UNSh vehicle has been adapted to a series of medical vehicles. BMM-1 is a medical evacuation vehicle, BMM-2 is a battalion medical station, and the BMM-3 is a mobile dressing station with a team of doctors and an AP-2 set of equipment. Up to four casualties on stretchers can be carried inside the hull, and an additional 12 can be housed in an attached tent. RKhM-4 Chemical and reconnaissance vehicle. 2S23 Self-Propelled 120-mm Combination Howitzer-Mortar Available details of this are given in the Self-Propelled guns and howitzers section. BTR-80A This vehicle incorporates a new turret system which is referred to as the modular weapon station (MWS). The MWS is of all welded steel construction. Mounted externally on the top of the turret is the same 30-mm 2A42 cannon that is fitted to the BMP-2. A PKT 7.62-mm machine-gun is mounted coaxially to the right of the 30-mm cannon. Mounted on either side of the cannon is a bank of three 81-mm electrically operated, forward firing smoke grenade launchers. Turret traverse is through 360? with weapon elevation being between -5 and +70?. Although it lacks the protection level of the BMP-2, the BTR-80A has the advantage of a higher road speed and range and, therefore greater strategic mobility. BREM-K The recovery version of the BTR-80 (8 x 8) APC is referred to as the BREM-K, although it also has the designation GAZ-59033. Standard equipment includes an A-frame, which, tow bars, small stowage platform to the turret rear and stabilizers under the nose of the vehicle. This vehicle is not armed. FlipeR

    Alt + LMB is for easy moving of the objects - I'm sorry but there was no time to write any documentation! The only thing available for now is part of the internal documentation that can be found at Comrades in Arms page! Scorpio: I know about that texture distortion problem!     I know Kege&Hubba - if you want to make just the relief it wont take you much time, but making an island with variable vegetation and a lot of objects will take you weeks if not months! And thats the price if you want playable islands... Why do you think we have only 4 islands by default? Its because of their complexity! And BTW: Desert island is the same terrain as ABEL, but without the bigger island:) And for Resistance BiS opted only for 1 extra island to shorten times of making the expansion pack... We unfortunaltely ran out of time so we couldnt implement the copy/paste function...but this is only a BETA! The copy/paste function will be present in the final release of WRPEdit! About WRPEdit and BiS - I know OFPInternals contacted Marek asking him, how he feel about OFPInt. coming tools, but received no response... Now I ask Maruk or Suma for an unofficial or even better an official statement about OFPInternals tools! TNX FlipeR

    Almost forgot to post it here - I finished and released my M4A1 Pack 1 BETA(v.1.98)! The final version(v.2.0) will be released when Resistance comes out (cfgModels class should work then)!     Muzzle flash visible?

    If you didn't noticed my previous post - in the 1.55 MP BETA test, the cfgModels section WORKS! This means that the muzzle flash bug is solved and with the release of Resistance we wont need any converters (since I assume the 1.55-1.60 MP BETA test will be Resistance's CORE)!! FlipeR
