I'd suggest the falcon 4 forum over LOMAC. Falcon 4 is more realism oriented while LOMAC is more blow-shit-up oriented. Nothing wrong with that though.

Think about how much time and money it takes to launch a shuttle mission. Then think about how much time and money it takes to launch a helicopter to catch the thing.

I was thinking velociraptors would leap out of the capsule and maul the pilots, then figure out the controls on the helicopter and fly to washington dc just in time to notify the president of a coming alien invasion.

It's a lenticular cloud (obviously). Â They only occur over mountains or sharp rises in terrain. Â If the wind is going along at it's own pace and hits a mountain, it has to go up. Â When air goes up it usually cools, sometimes to the point where it condenses (dewpoint) and forms a cloud. Â The air goes right back down afterwards, so it looks like a little bump in the sky. The problem is that when the winds get big enough they set up a wave and can cause severe turbulence hundreds of miles downwind of a mountain. Â In this picture you can sort of see the wave setting up. Â There's a really nice picture of a lenticular cloud forming over a small island in the middle of the ocean. Â Can't seem to find it now though.

Nothing girly about lenticular clouds and mountain wave turbulence strong enough to rip a plane apart. lol

You know, most people complain about there being too many airplanes. I sure wish everybody had the same appreciation for aviation that we do.

you just fucked with my universe but seriously i dont see whats so special about a stealth UAV. i can do better than that. radar doesn't pick me up in my cessna under 3000 feet out here, and i've got my transponder turned on! i can take off and land too, do a whole lot more if you want. plus i can carry up to 3 other people in my cessna, plus some baggage as long as nobody's really overweight. whats the big deal?

If I were you I wouldn't enlist, go in as an officer or at least an NCO. Not that enlisted folk are some kind of lower race or anything, but it seems like the military treats them like it sometimes. Especially if you want to make this long term. I know you can't be a pilot in the air force without being an officer. also, being an officer requires a bachelor degree in most any major (science and math majors are favored).

Fuckin cool pic Maximus! I love pictures of weather and all that good stuff. Â Living in Kansas makes for some great sunsets and thunderstorms. Â I should be getting a digital camera soon for a birthday so I'll start taking some pictures of storms and the like. Â Military traffic is supposed to increase at my local airport so maybe I'll get some cool airplane photos. I remember once I was about to go to work. Â There was this cumulus cloud just east of our apartment complex that was growing really fast. Â So fast it got this wispy cap on top of it (almost like a lenticular cloud, but I wouldn't call it that). Â It started off as a relatively small cloud but grew into this gigantic thunderstorm. Â It was amazing. By the way, where'd you take that picture?

I wonder what the thrust to weight ratio is on that thing. Sure would suck if he just rocketed straight up... for him at least.
