I don't think they've given us a solid release date. But this is sad. What do they mean by flight model? The visual model that we look at or the plane's characteristics in flight?

Soviet planes are (well, were) specifically designed with anti-FOD mechanisms that re-routed their engine intakes to avoid sucking things in. Works fairly well I guess.

FOD is an airplane's worst nightmare when it's using a runway. It's really just damage caused by bits and pieces of airplanes that fall off planes from anything like bird strikes, rough landings, even the vibrations from the engines on takeoff. Â The things falling off themselves don't usually cause an accident, but when they get sucked into an engine or punch through a tire they can do some serious damage (some believe FOD brought down the concorde). It stands for Foreign Object Damage, a FOD sweep is when you search the runway for anything that could damage an airplane. Â For major airports they'll have someone drive a jeep or something at high speed down the runway to check and make sure there's nothing major on the runway. Â On aircraft carriers the crew will form a chain and slowly walk down the deck picking up nuts and bolts. those videos are amazing cam0flage especially the ones where they turned some strip of road into an airfield. I can't tell you how many times i've been driving along in my truck and spotted an opening in the powerlines over head and though "man, if this thing had wings..." FOD sweeps must be murder though

I think I got 1 once, most of the time I get 4. There's got to be a strategy for this.

Al Qaeda and Talebans aren't soldiers , even if they call themselves as such , they are just terrorists , armed civilians with bad intentions i'm not against training soldiers , but i'm against training the men of unpredictable organisations such as terrorist ones and 2 times (that's much more than that actually) should be more than enough to get the lesson btw , that + the 3000+ deaths on the 9th of september 2001 But we didn't know they were terrorists back in those days. As far as we knew they were honest freedom fighters fighting the oppressive Soviet regime.

The reason I like playing with crosshairs on is because it's easier to steer your player. As you know in OFP you can move your head around without changing your torso and thus your direction of movement. The problem is that this makes it more difficult to move around, especially in the heat of battle, because you don't know how much you have to move your mouse to move your body. That's not a very big deal though. My main problem is with bringing up the iron sights. Without crosshairs I simply don't know where the iron sights will be pointed when I bring them up. So if I stumble across someone in combat, and don't know where I'm going to be aiming, I lose precious seconds trying to find them with the iron sights up. Easy solution to both problems = take away head movement, so you're always moving towards the center of your screen and you're always aiming roughly towards the center of your screen. Only when crosshairs are off of course.

It probably was. The newscaster said it was an M113, but it wouldn't be the first time they were wrong about military equipment. I was just going by looks anyway.

I saw on Fox news' live coverage of the invasion of Iraq that they were using an M113 as a C&C vehicle.

You can't just not make friends because they might turn on you tommorow. Just because we trained Al Queda and the Taliban and they turned out bad doesn't mean we should avoid training other soldiers.

He's either lying or he's confused. It's possible he saw the second plane hit the tower and thought it was the first plane.

It's possible that, when the attempted to take the plane back, the terrorists dove for the ground. Better to kill everyone on board and be a martyr than nobody at all.

did they fix the lag? i seem to remember tons of lag when i first played it

Did they try to shoot them down or to intercept them and just not get there in time? I don't know all of the facts involved here, nobody does (at least nobody on this forum ). I'm just speculating on what I do know. Frankly this whole conversation is starting to depress me.
