denoir So the man who mailed anthrax to celebrities and other people, he had a giant chemical refinery in his backyard? 10,000 workers who kept their mouth shut about it? How come our high tech satellites didn't spot his chemical refinery denoir? He didn't use them because he thought he would be back in power in a few months. This is also why he buried his airplanes, for later use. Yeah, demonstrators are known to be peaceful and non-violent. This falls into the category of things you don't hear on the news. You don't see on the BBC how many peaceful demonstrations go by peacefully. You only see the headlines when someone fires an RPG during a demonstration and runs into a crowd of innocent people. LOL! I started to panic? I didn't even have power outages. And yes, partial power outages. The power is off and on around Iraq. He maliciously ordered that they be killed. And how were we supposed to know he would gas innocent civilians with them? You don't have the luxury of hindsight before something happens.

denoir A few months after there's no more shooting in Iraq, I'd say. When did we say there were tens of thousands of people working on these plants? What makes you think the plants weren't underground to begin with? What makes you think they didn't just pile some sand on top of their WMDs like they did their migs? According to you. No, I responded to this argument. He did not use them because he was 1) busy hiding them or 2) did not want to be retalliated against in kind. Just because he didn't use them doesn't mean he didn't have them. The US has a large nuclear arsenal but we didn't use it, does that mean we don't have it? Saddam = bad. Situation today = worse But the overall issue isn't Saddam and isn't the Iraq situations. The issue is about how you can go on trusting leaders that obviously lied to you. So you are endorsing and supporting his murderous regime over freedom and liberation. You'd rather live in a police state than have partial power losses in some parts of the country? But we didn't kill any of those people. This is like blaming France for all the wars the US has gone through because they aided us once.
-
Well the French trained and helped us during the revolutionary war. So they're completely responsible!
-
If anything there are fewer cheats. They just started utilizing Punkbuster. Now there are complaints about not being able to complain.
-
Crazysheep I know that. The fact I was pointing out is that they were pretending. They may of also pretended about their civilian casualties. denoir Not at all, it's possible that they hadn't started hiding their weapons yet. Just because we haven't found WMD or terrorists yet doesn't mean they're not there. So you completely support and endorse his dictatorship? If you saw him rape some girl or kill somebody you'd sit on your hands and defend his right to continue? Sure I can, how many Iraqi civilians died before the gulf war as a result of the US? Very few. I could just as easilly say that the numbers are for however long Saddam has existed since there are practically no US-caused casualties before the first gulf war.
-
denoir The 45 minute claim was probably true at one time. But I doubt it was when he started hiding his stuff. You're trying to say that, because one of the arguments provided may of been flawed that we should of invaded. I responded yes we should have since he's killed so many people and will continue to. History channel did a good documentary on Saddam's sons. Showed how he used to talk to principals of schools to get girls to come stay with him. I doubt he was tutoring them. I never said that you said that, I said you seem to think it. And, IIRC, most Iraqis would rather have things the way they are now than have Saddam back. I don't have that census on hand though. It's one of the reasons I support the war. Heard it on TV so I can't exactly quote it. Guess which show though. Anyway, I made another graph with your numbers. Compared to the Iraqi casualties a US invasion would still of been relatively painless. Crazysheep That the Iraqis lie to make the US look bad? How does that indicate to you that they wouldn't inflate their civilian casualty numbers? Maybe even do some themselves to make it look like we did.

GoOB Corrupted download(s)? Â Try downloading from the official AA site. Â http://americasarmy.com Mahooney In the game, push F2 and select an open slot next to "AR" (for Automatic Rifleman). The statistic is Iraqi civilian casualties from the first gulf war, not the second. I made the graph before the second war started.

Thanks winters, power had returned to normal on Saturday in the homes of most of the nearly two-million Northeastern area residents affected by Thursday's blackout, but tensions remained high across the country as lawmakers hastily turned their attention to the task of unearthing the root of the problem. http://www.foxnews.com.edgesuite.net/story/0,2933,94900,00.html Meanwhile a giant reptile-like footprint has been discovered pointed in the general direction of New York City. When asked what had caused the footprint a US military spokesperson replied "What? There's no godzilla about to wipe out the city of new york, are you insane?"

If you think the BBC is respectable then I've got a bridge to sell you. a recent poll shows that most britans don't think the BBC is reliable www.iraqbodycount.net is unreliable. Â They counted an iraqi youth picking up a rifle as a civilian. Â The team consists of someone who used to work for greenpeace, a delegate of the "stop the war coalition", and their webmaster also works for www.humanshields.org do you really trust those people?
-
denoir Maybe because the UN team called ahead to the places they were "surprise" inspecting? The UN probably didn't fing the MiGs they buried either. Which is why we didn't see those MiGs with our fancy satellites, right? No, a judge would of said "Saddam Hussein I find you guilty on 1,500,000 counts of murder." Unless your daughter was pretty, then you had to worry about her being raped by one of Saddam's sons. Or unless you accidentally piss off one of Saddam's sons. You seem to be under the impression that Saddam Hussein was a good guy. He wasn't. He terrorized the Iraqi people and they're obviously glad to have him gone. So we should of waited until he killed 3 million people? 5? Wheres your line in the sand denoir? Not according to my numbers. Crazysheep So he only killed 5 or 6 people at a time, here or there over the span of 30 years. And you think that's excusable? The Iraqi Information Ministry, so they're probably inflated.
-
WOW! LETS GET EXCITED GUYS YEAH!!! I just hope they release it before Monday when I leave behind my PC for college. (don't worry I'll still be able to post here, just no flight sims)
-
Sure. Only 1.5 million people were slaughtered by hussein. It's not like they ALL had to worry about it, just certain races. And they don't matter, right?
-
Just becaues you don't see the weapons doesn't mean they dont have them. They could very easilly of simply buried them, the mobile labs, the canisters. Have you seen the giant fields of abandoned Iraqi equipment? What makes you think there's not a mobile lab in there. And yes, the US invasion did alleviate their suffering. They don't have to worry about being slaughtered by Hussein and his family anymore.

There's no more proof that the 45 minute claim was bogus than there is that it wasn't. Â The US could drop a few nuclear warheads on Baghdad in a matter of minutes, but we didn't. Â Does that mean that we couldn't? Â The reason they didn't use WMDs on our troops was because they were too busy hiding them. And yes, the war did alleviate human suffering. Â It wasn't the only goal of the war though. Â A drunk driver gets put in jail for driving drunk, but now he can't deal drugs. Â So it's win-win. edit - oh, and believe it or not, Bill Clinton supported the war
-
If the 45 minute claim was true and if it was about human suffering and not about oil, why didn't some people want to invade? Whose interests were protected by keeping an oil rich murderous dictator in charge?
-
Besides, look at the Iraq thread. This place would be boring if we just ignored each other.
-
It was bound to happen sooner or later. We need that precious precious canadian oil.
-
Yeah, and France wasn't fighting in Iraq first. Â Vietnam didn't have a lot of oil. Â And most US celebrities aren't funneling profits to the resistance in Iraq. Oops, spoke too soon.
-
Wishful thinking on their part I guess.
-
I'm an air force brat, warin. Â Most of the people I know are ex-military or active duty. Â I haven't heard any complaints about money problems, and they don't receive combat pay around here. Either way it doesn't matter, the pay cuts aren't going through.
-
*edit* Denoir and Pins said it alot better than I did. And I already responded if you'd like to respond to that.
-
I don't rely on just one source. CNN, Fox News, sometimes even the BBC, maybe MSNBC if I get desperate.
-
Never! Sorry Badgerboy, I don't know how that happened, I'll fix it now. But I still don't see what the big deal is. They got by fine before they got their pay raised (which we didn't see any news articles about, of course). It's just going back to the way it was before they got their pay raise.
