Please don't turn this into a car-talk thread. That's why it was moved here in the first place. =\

I've either done it, or seen it done by AI, either way.

How could this possibly recquire a revamp of the entire engine? Explain yourself please. And it would come in handy in case you needed to get up a hill quick or something like that. You must know how slow vehicles go up hills.

Call me a gearhead if you must (ah ah ah, stupid joke) but I'd like to see some control over the gears in vehicles. Now I know they exist, as I can hear them shifting when I drive, but I think it'd be nice to have more control over the gears. Â You know, switch to lower gears when you're going up hills or climbing a mountain, switch to higher gears when you want to cruise or go fast. I know in stick shifts you have to use a clutch and all, frankly I think that'd be too difficult to do in a game (and IRL for me, but that's another subject ). Â So my idea is that you can just push a key and change the gear (maybe pgup and pgdn?). What do y'alls think? And I did a search, didn't find anything on the subject. EDIT - Oh yeah, and for those people who dont like this idea, it could be added as a toggleable feature (like super AI) so everyone should be happy.

I can only picture a use for air-to-ground aircraft in ofp.
-
Automatic cars are more popular than automatic cars because they're easier to drive. Manual cars are better for utilities, because you can specify the gear for your specific use. I'm pretty sure the 5-ton trucks and jeeps are manuals, not sure about the hummv, it might be.

I agree, anti-personnel*nitpicks* mines would rock.
-
Because we only have AT mines, I don't think it would be that useful. AP mines would rock.

Hunting would be fun. Maybe if you could shoot the seagulls. With an engine like OFP, hunting could be a real challenge.

The way I'm thinking is: you have 10 fingers, 5 of which are devoted to the mouse. 1 of which is devoted to pressing the go and stop keys, that leaves 4 fingers to push 2 buttons. And I don't mean like a clutch or anything, just pgup to raise the gear, pgdn to lower it one and put it in reverse

Since when has 1.85 been out?
-
It makes sense that it's defaulted to the lowest on multiplayer games, just to avoid conflicts. But in SP it's really hard on framerates, but really worth it. Looks much better.

People use jeeps ground vehicles more than they do airplanes (well, jets anyway).

A great A-10 site www.a-10.org EDIT - EDIT(Ralph) -

Great, one more reason to consider enlisting over being a missionary pilot.

MAN that looks SO cool. I can't wait for it. And for once it's going to come out relatively soon. I don't have to wait until "fall 2005" for a game -_- But this looks great! Can't wait for a demo.

I need a new manual, which also has my copy of the registration code =\ The problem is, I don't know who to contact at BIS about this. Can someone point me in the right direction? And mods, I did a search and didn't find anything helpful.

Hahaha, cool. Those made me laugh. I bet we could do those things in OFP too, who wants to think about give it a shot?
