the patch seems to work OK with me. i didnt notice any increase in FPS, and i still cant use "effects" without getting a blue screen of death so this patch really has no benefits for me.

If they have a freedom to criticise bush, then we have a freedom to criticise them for criticising bush.

HAHAHAHAHA... no She did learn to drive in New Jersey though

How about you go to Iraq and walk around in a police uniform without any weapon. See how long you last when you walk into some pro-Saddam riot full of people with AKs and RPGs. And don't pretend that Iraqi civilians don't have guns, that's just plain naive.

insurance rate is set on empirical data, and women tend to get into smaller accidents, while men tend to get into bigger ones. that's why there is a difference in rate. Not when you look at how my sister drives.

My ISP has been cutting in and out lately. It makes playing online impossible and you can forget downloading (takes hours longer and when you're done you're lucky if it's not a corrupted download). Don't use roadrunner for your internet connection, you're better off with a 56k.

If I remember right that got a lot of press because she was a female compared to the other shot up A-10s that made it back with male pilots. Anyway, I think females should be eligible for all the jobs men do in the military. Â They should also be eligible for the draft, and they should also have to pay the same car insurance rates as everyone else. Â Equality anybody?

It's kinda pointless to ask them to remove the picture if it's already been printed (which I assume). We should just ask them for an apology and a retraction.

Good stuff. I'd love to be the guy who gets to drive the little rover around. How do you get that job in the first place? Anyway, I saw a NOVA show on the mars lander today. The thing I love about NASA is that they're a big team. Reminds me of being in grade school and the teacher would assign us all a task and we'd all have to work together to get it done. Anybody else have to design a parachute that would safely deliver an egg in a shoebox from the top of a nearby watertower?

I heard somewhere that the AF says the flight wasn't escorted. And it's not uncommon for delta flights to be an hour late

Well I can't fly with effects on, I get the blue screen of death. With everything toned down I get decent FPS though.

I think it's just different people saying what makes them sound smart One thing that upsets me about LOMAC is that there's no Su-22 or MiG-29 campaigns. The aircraft are still flyable, just no campaigns for them.

The Ruskies have one too, you can see it just about abeam the touchdown zone on their carriers. My only problem is that I can't see it. The lights aren't really operated by anyone. They're just a set of lights with lenses on them so you can only see one light from a certain location. For example it's set up so you can only see a red light when you're low on the glideslope.

I do a lot of plastic model airplanes, revell is the name that stands out most to me, but I don't usually buy a model just because of it's brand name.

denoir You're automatically assuming that we're going to give the Iraqis the shaft or something. Â What makes you think that companies like Haliburton aren't the best for the job? Â I understand your concern that because there's no competition we could easilly take advantage of the situation, but that's not automatically going to happen. Â Or maybe I'm just being too trusting. I understand that completely, my ISP does it to me all the time. Â What I don't understand is why you're automatically assuming this is going to happen. Â Don't get me wrong, I'm not so naive that I think nobody would try to take advantage of this situation, but I'm also not so cynical that I automatically think they're going to take advantage of the Iraqi people. And it's not like nobody's watching these guys either. RalphWiggum Guess that goes to show that politicians are only interested in whats best for their party, not the rest of the world. thus TBA is interested in their agenda, not freedom of Iraqi people. Well so are the democrats then.

WOW!!!! How'd you get those F-111s to make that engine noise? I'd kill to have a flight sim that made those noises, no more stupid whining from MSFS engines.

None taken The only thing I don't like about the ILS is that there's no flare programmed into it so you come down onto the deck at hundreds of feet per minute. Â I guess that's realistic when you think about it for carrier landings, but not when you're landing on a runway (sure hope not anyway ) Another thing is that you have to set up on a real long final to land safely. Â I'd much rather just fly a quick pattern and land in a few seconds then spend 5 minutes flying an ILS approach. Â Besides, even IRL we look up at a certain height rather than landing by staring at our instruments, we have to be able to see the ground to land. Â They even had to be able to bend the nose of the concorde so the pilots could see on takeoff and landing. I've never flown a Su-33 or anything so I don't know whether or not they can see very well, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have some visual reference.

denoir You're making it sound like we're robbing the Iraqi people by doing this, that's not true. Â The Iraqis get a lot of benefits from us rebuilding their country, whether we do it or the French or whoever does it. Well, don't come around saying that we're robbing the Iraqis. Â They're getting lots of good things from this too. RalphWiggum Guess that goes to show that politicians are only interested in whats best for their party, not the rest of the world.

Harnu, we're just about the same left/right, but you're 2 grids more authoritarian than I am.

I'm kinda in the middle of nowhere (laugh all you like ). I'm around halfway between Nelson Mandella and Jacques Chirac

What's everyones problem? Why do you think the guys in F-16s or the air marshals are trigger happy? They haven't even fired a shot yet.
-
The statements don't contradict each other at all, read them again if you have to. EiZei That's the point, it did. Â But the democrats who don't support this war did support it when Clinton was at the helm. We're talking about Iraq I think. Acecombat Then why did you say this: They're not contradictory statements, what's so hard to understand about them? Â Politicians think that since we won the war so we should be the ones to take charge of the new nation. Â As long as we're the best ones for the job there's no problem with that at all.
-
What makes you think they're trigger happy? They've been trailing planes for weeks and never fired a shot. Sounds like media-induced hysteria to me.
-
Bah, I can barely land on the carrier in the Su-33. I'm used to being able to see what I'm landing on. Don't get me wrong I can fly the ILS just fine, but it'd be a whole lot easier to be able to sit up and look over the dash.

Apollo Can you provide any evidence to back this up? Â Maybe foreign companys don't have the technology or skill that US/UK based ones do. Â Or maybe US/UK companies are getting picked because we're the ones that fought (and are fighting) the war in Iraq. Â Why should we let French or German companies do jobs that Americans and Brits could do when we're the ones who won the war? What does Enron have to do with the war in Iraq? Â They went out of business before the first bomb was dropped and they didn't do any business with anything remotely related to warfare. Or is this just a swing at Bush? I think you're being too cynical. Â Chalk it up to a difference of opinion if you want, but I doubt that politicians would go to war just to make certain stocks go up. Â And, for some reason, I doubt you were saying this back when Clinton bombed Iraq.
