  1. I'm using the Medusa 5.1 Surround Sound Headset about 3 years.

    The 3d sounds and quality are pretty good,

    but i can't compare with other headsets, because this one is the first

    real headset i bought.

    They are also very comfortable on your head.

    I can play arma the whole night long, without upsetting my neighbours.

    not read all 65 pages so sorry if this has been asked before, but any1 that got an profile that workes good with arma2, i just cant get one that works ok for both air and ground, air works ok, but when im on the ground i just wanna throw it out the window.

    would love a link to any profile that any1 here uses to test.

    Try smooth as a reference and modify it to have fine movements in the center of your head movement and turn progressive when you get to about 50% of your max. head turn. This way you don't have to strain your neck.


  2. What version of the TrackIR software are you running? (Look under "About TrackIR...")

    Do you have the TrackClip PRO selected as the tracking target in the TrackIR software?

    Have you run a games update in the TrackIR software?

    Do you have TrackIR enabled in ArmA 2?

    Actually i have 2 problems.

    I tried the Beta 04 and 05, tracking went well during setup. When i started the game it didn't work ( no blue LED ).

    I have the Track Clip Pro selected, it didn't work without it.

    Arma 1 and 2 were listed, i guess it was up to date.

    Yes, i had my Track IR System working with the 4.1.xxx software without any problems except it somethimes shook some times independant of the way i look and the lighting. Sometimes it worked smoothly then again ( mapswitch ) it shook ( like when you move your head as far left or right as far as possible and move it the center and far left or right again in a rapid motion ) so hard i got a headache.

    The system worked. I tried it with the 4.xx and 5.xx software seperatly and with both installed ( of course not running both at the same time ). Only the 4.xx worked.

    I still don't know why i have this shaking bug though. When XFire works with A2 i will share a video feed so you see what i mean. I'm not the only one with the same problem, at least that's what i saw in the TrackIR forums.


  3. Having problems here...Installed the 5er software for me Track IR 4 with Track Clip pro and it doesn't work in ArmA2. The green LED is on but the blue LED won't turn on as usual when i start the game. Hopefully when it will work ( with your help ) i don't have this recentering like i had parkinson.

    ViewDistance might be a little much but effect of lag isnt as much at 500m altitude as it would be running on ground.

    Fast Travel is another "problem" issue. As you state Binesi' date=' the "Beam me up Scotty" feeling, isn't really adding to the reality department. But the original slow dot-by-dot FT isn't good either and I think the delay doesn't really add to gameplay.

    Instant FT is not so good as you said because it's unrealistic. Why not remove it instead? In a A1 WF mission there was the possibility the call an MH-6 for INF transport ( call, click on map ). Of course you are prone to ambush and attacks otw to your target but thats literally the "nature of war".

    You could call an unarmed UH-1 / Mi-17 for that purpose.

    There is no instant reinforcment powder where you pour in some water and get a bunch of M1s :D

    Waiting for reinforcements or beeing the one who is travelling should add a thrill to the game. Who knows if one will arrive in time or even arrive at all?


  5. As far as I can see, the C-130 has a complete cargo bay ready to go. There is still a substantial amount of the time before the game is released in the rest of the world.

    Meaning the game isn't really finished yet, like it was with ArmA...

    They did some work though but still not enough. The game is in the same condition when ArmA was released in germany. I'd be ashamed of myself selling a beta game and telling it went "gold".

    In the end the community will have to fix these problems with addons. Problem: there are no standardized addons.


  6. It's still there, though not as bad as Arma1 or OFP.

    I'd say it's quite worse than in ArmA. It OFP it was due to lag, and not engine related. I never had that problem in OFP, i did a lot of long distance shooting in the game while beeing a spotter in clanwars and never had suchs problems like in ArmA 1 and 2.

    Funny thing is, the planes and birds don't seem to warp around that much.


  7. Haha. . .  the Sigma-6 sign on the doors is in place of the 'Dodge City Police' badge on the prototype car, because I'm using an adapted version of Dodge's livery from that vehicle, which sort of looks like a generic cop car.  I thought it was clever. . .  

    If you didn't like that, you'll hate what the police motto is on the rear quarter; it's the one from the South Park Police. . .  'to patronize and annoy'.  (I was toying with using the one from Transformers; 'to punish and enslave', but I figured that might be going a bit too far. . .  wink_o.gif

    Maybe I'll run a contest, for people to create the best liveries.  The prize could be to have their liveries in the pack. . .  I'd really like to see, for example, a Michigan State Police slicktop or bubble-top. . .  (I have the bubble I used on the tow-truck, after all, and the side-stop would take about 20 minutes to pull off. . .)

    By the way, this addon will not have any bells and whistles--literally--but it will come with red and yellow civvie versions.  They're implemented already, and I think they look pretty good.  smile_o.gif

    As for a release date, my policy is the same as it ever was: no release dates.

    "to patronize and annoy" fits to Sahrani Life as well as the "to punish and enslave".

    btw... have you read your pms and msn recently? I have tried to contact you in every way i could possibly think of. No answer, and suddenly i see you alive ( thank god ).

    Your vehicles are very good, but a bit too large. As a user of your addons i must say the size of the addons makes the server lag a second or two when the vehicle is beeing placed on the map. Beeing to detailed and big in ( file ) size one of the two flaws in your addons. The second is the config, or at least not customized config. wink_o.gif

    you need 24/7 open server so the mission will be more popular. also, as I said before, "cops and robbers" will not make ur mission any different from Sl, u need think out accurate goals for each side so ur mission will be more interesting that SL.     So far i have only seen players i know from the SL:R and SL:U community who have been on the server? On what basis do you criticize a mission you haven't even played yet? The server has been up 24/7 for weeks during the testing phase but i haven't even seen a player with your name on the server. Try it then we can talk about improving the mission.

    And the mission is not cops vs robbers, that kind of thinking ruins an RPG. If we wanted a cops vs. robbers mission you would have a border, 2 ammo crates, 2 respawns and 2 sides ( cops and civs ). Then you can play your deathmatch.


  9. I was waiting for good RPG mission since i left playing SL. SL guys were good in scripting but they were so ignorant and, unfortunately, didn't get the main point that "mission" means there should be done something to win. SL is just silly rush for money and money for nothing so, unfortunately, SL is mission about nothing so me and many more people just quit playing it. So, my question is - what is the main point to play ur mission Enforcer1975 ? Is there anything good u can spend money on and what the point to be a cop or a civ?

    P.S. the idea of governor election for SL was mine. They took the idea but freaking mess up with it. My point of election was to be in power if everything on island. So, the governor CAN judge cops and many more.

    There are some good advises I posted on SL and they didn’t even pay any attention on it, so, may be it will be useful for ur map –

    Hi and thanks for your ideas. Some are possible. some are difficult to script and some are almost impossible. That's why some ideas haven't been added ( yet ).

    I will consult Hunter with the ideas ( he is on a business trip for 2 weeks so nothing will be done for that time ). We already have planned some changes.

    The idea with air cargo is very good, i wonder why i forgot that. Unfortunatly there is only one airport, so landing on other places are only for the bush pilots among us  whistle.gif Shipment happens a lot more on the streets in RL so we want to keep it mostly that way. Air vehicles should be more a status symbol and a hobby for the civs.

    We want to reduce civ access to helicopters ( there are far more hobby plane pilots than hobby helo pilots in RL )

    Drugs will need components like chemicals to be produced  and sold off shore.

    Terrorists have to go off shore on a ship to get equipment.

    Illegal activities will need more effort to counter spreekilling ( there is a prestige punishment added to punish spreekillers already, a feature where you can't acces you account below -10pp will be added someday )

    One of many goals for civs is to build a small company he can roleplay ( not everything has to be regulated with scripts!! ), get a house or two for storage purposes Another good way to burn money is the auction. There is an auction one an hour where you can place a bid on vehicles you can't buy in the car shops. More such things where you can spend a lot of money will be added in the future.

    The governor ( we took the governor because it's an state like island and not a town or city. )

    Money is and will be a rare item in our mission. You have lots of opportunities to lose a lot of money ( speed traps with autopunish ( 100$ for each km/h overspeed; 60 is city limit, so full speed would be a 6000$ speeding ticket ), cops can give hefty fines to criminals and even smaller crimes will be punished with fines. Bigger crimes from assault upwards will be punished either will jail time or a very high fine ( will be mixed so the criminal will have to pay a fine and visit the jail ) etc...

    But first the mission has to be played by more people before we do more things for the mission. One or two version will follow before we look for the results ( how many are interested and how many are playing ). Without players there is no need to continue the work on the mission, you must understand this. I have to add that we didn't really plan to release a mission, this was rather a testing mission to see what really is possible to build into a RPG mission and what not ( we wanted to prove that some ideas are possible which were denied in the RPG forums. The reason why this mission was released because we were unhappy with the situation in the SL:U community ourselves ( Verbal and my police squad was disbanded because we saw no other reason to play when spreekillers are empowered and backed up by the core team ).

    That's the main reason why this mission came out of the blue in the first place. I hope you enjoy the mission and i hope there will be a small amount of regular players some day ).


  10. im not trying to slat this mission/mod just wonted to know who contributed to it as it was a bit out of th blue and fully packed. The download has finished now and i gotta say tis is pritty cool not very origanal but still cool good job and keep it up.

    Better out of the blue than ages of promoting and nothing happened because the team split up...i hate it when that happens like it happened with the C&C modding team for ArmA ( there were other problems than a split up though )

    Most of the C&C mod guys went over to the crysis engine as arma didnt support there needs.

    I know, two of them were or are still part of the clan and one of their team is in our TS atm smile_o.gif

    The used addons are in the last page, your right, the names aren't written though i asked for them. Will will make up for it, the addons are actually well known to the SL players so we thought there would be no need then we forgot about it when dealing with the bugs this morning at 3 a.m.

    @ armatech. I got full 350kb and i loaded the addons almost 1 hr after publication. Either there were lots of ppl loading what is impossible or somehow the ISP cut down the dl rate.

    I would like to introduce another type of RPG. Of course it has similarities with existing RPGs, and yet we are using a whole different system preventing unnecessary killing and grieving with a unique prestige system.

    Features:

    - Day and Nighttime ( 50:50 or 75:25 ) with different time factors ( standard setting: 1 day in game is 2 hrs in RL ) ( extra settings - 1 day in game = 6 hrs, 3.5 hrs and ~2.6 hrs in RL )

    - Saving system that saves everything except your current inventory. ( stats can be saved anytime )

    - You have two sides to choose from ( cops and civs ) - Only 1 side per account, if you want to switch sides you need an altered name. ( f.e. Player and Player² )

    - Prestigesystem that punishes unfair players and rewards good players ( +pp for arrests ), pp regeneration 0.1pp per 6 minutes.

    - You current wanted state stays after rejoining the server, reconnecting doesn't set you unwanted and you can't commit suicide to be set unwanted. You have to face your punishment.

    - Action menus have been customized to avoid unnecessary delay.

    - Highscore system ( Top 3 list )

    - Log system to see what you did from login until the current time ( can be used by the cops to convict somebody of a crime )

    - Safe zones for cop bases, terrorist hideouts and jail island ( jail can't be overflown )

    - Every player has a bank account, paying system is mostly cash, so you need some money in your inventory ( replacement banks are phone booths for now ). You can overdraw you account with biding in the auction or by paying to many fines.

    - GPS system ( needs to be in the inventory ) that increases you detectionrange ( minimap included ). Cops always know other cops positions.

    - UMPC ( ultra mobile pc ) allows you to detect your vehicles if they are not in the parking houses and vehicles that can be towed away.

    - Auction twice a day. You can bid for a special vehicle that you can't buy in normal car shops.

    - A convoy will drive twice from north base to the other bases except the south base. A arrival cops gain a bonus. If terrorists capture the truck and bring it to a terror camp they get equipment.

    - A governor can be elected once a ( game ) day ( 2 hrs in RL )

    - You can get a driver ( worker ) and a double ( wears clothes like you )

    Hud menu:

    - You can configure you view distance and your hud.

    - Animations for surrender.

    - Admin menu to punish players in a matter of seconds ( black screen, deletion of the account if necessary )

    - Hud for civ and vehicle class ( side/slot ID, speed, covered distance, altitude from sea level, prestige and many more )

    Optimization:

    - Buildings were used for action instead of flags.

    - All scripts are based on SQF and optimized  to save system resources.

    - Debug console for developers.

    Buildings:

    - Items are limited and have to be reproduced ( food, medkits etc. )

    - Resources can be processed to create better items.

    - Factories can't be bought. ( might be changed in future versions )

    - You can buy houses and store items. Storing items costs money.

    Income:

    - You recieve a basic income.

    - The bank gives interest. If you overdraw you account you have to pay.

    - Fines and money for the auction ist drawn directly from your account, keep an eye on your bills.

    Vehicles:

    - Parking function. You can store your car where it will be repaired and refueled if you have cash. ( parking and take out is delayed by 1 minute to prevent exploit )

    - Vehicles are not based on resources to prevent lack of vehicles.

    - Each player has a maximum amount of 8 vehicles.

    - Copcars have standard equipment when they are spawned ( 1 of each medkit, repkit and          refuel )

    - You can tow away destroyed and empty vehicles ( option will be integrated in the next version )

    - Keys ( you can give a copy or the ownership in one of the next versions )

    Miscellaneous:

    - Cops recieve a standard equipment when they spawn ( no need to buy every single thing when connecting as a cop )

    - Cop weaponry is unique, they can't be bought in any shop other than the cop shop ( some items can be bought from the black market )

    - You can buy illegal items like drugs, cop scanner and scanners for speed traps )

    - Fuel station fuel up your car automaticly if you have enough cash. ( fill up stops above 90% due to ArmA restrictions)

    - You can join a church and pay your dues and recieve free healing or you pay a higher price if you are not a member )

    - Items can be given between players.

    - Speeding tickets when you have been caught in a speed trap ( costs a lot of money )

    - Action menus are attached to buildings which are lit during night time.

    - You can get drunk on alcohol ( wine ), and even have a reaction when taking drugs ( you receive less damage when under influendce of drugs, a headshot kills you though ). Addiction might be added in one of the next versions.

    - You can carry 50kg in your backpack ( inventory )

    - You have to pay speeding tickets.

    Police:

    - Prestige based equipment. You can only buy equipment if you have enough prestige.

    - Cops can access city and satelite cameras and make use of a helicopter camera ( if there is one flying around )

    - Cops have a stungun for non lethal use.

    - Cops have the action "draw stungun for easy access )

    - Cops can check the trunk of an unlocked car.

    - Cops can check the owner of the car ( the name is shown and not the ID# )

    - Cops have acess to stunend players and surrendered players inventory and can take away illegal items.

    - Cops can place the item: wire, sandbag site and single sandbag to create checkpoints.

    - Cops can place trackers on vehicles ( there is no civ tracker in tehis mission )

    - Can take away illegal items and weapons. They are stored in the cops inventory in case he has to give them back.

    - Have 4 bases to spawn ( north, west, south, east )

    Civilian:

    - Prestige dependancy: respawn time is higher with negative prestige

    - Civs can surrender using the 0-0-x menu.

    - Civs can acquire licenses to gather resources.

    - Civs can do legal or illegal delivery missions.

    - Civs can accept terrorist missions.

    - Civs can hire a driver and a double ( same clothes, can carry weapons )

    - Have 4 cities to spawn ( Paraiso, Cayo, Dolores, Corazol )

    The mission may still have some minor bugs.  

    Hint: Start with delivery jobs to earn more money when you start playing. Then you can get licenses to do the other jobs.

  14. That isnt the command parameter for "grass off". I think its the parameter for the LOD. Try "lawnmower=1" instead  tounge2.gif

    I dont think this will be solved in the next Patch. Maybe they were a bit rash to tell this and dont have a solution yet ( or never ). At least i am able to play on a 50+ player server with minor performance hits.

    Looking foreward to 1.06, especially to the fog thingie.
