Though through an NVG setting it would be a white done with a greenish tint dot if viewed through them. Â But since OFP doesn't modify the texture, it's nothing to worry about. Â I use the same weapons pack, and don't really care. All that matters is that the dot is there

Looking good wipman, only thing that the laser is IR, not visible light as shown. Get with nephilim as she's done similar work for a VBS1 weapon, and made it able to be on/off. Course there may be differences with eventhandlers, but I kinda doubt it. It's visible in both day and night (though I think it would be a game limitation), but yours should be visible with NVGs on anyways, due to the fact it's a geometry. She mainly developed it for night work, as said, the IR laser is only visible with NVGs. And as for ranges, that's what you can expect with a laser system (though in all actuality it appears to go off into infinity), so it's looking good. If people like/don't like it, then just allow it to be turned on/off.

Oh yeah, I'm aware of the texture issues, it was more a representation of the RAS itself, not texture ideas. But as far as "zeroing" the LAM would just try to get it on the crosshairs as best as possible.

Well, having used an IR pointer (VITAL-2), I can say that the beam will be angled down and since it's on the right, angled to the left, so that the laser actually hits the impact point. It's a common misperception that the beam is straight as in your pic. By going with the "zero" that you have there, the player would have to aim high right in order to get proper bullet placement. Angle it right, and when the crosshairs are turned off, he/she will get hits when the "beam" touches the target. Also with 203s with a RAS system mounted, only the top portion is installed. There is a smaller lower half, as in these pics: RAS [Please remove image tags when quoting - Fubar]

True, and I worked on some of the inside:

M16A4 Reference There is a misconception that the side rails extend the same length as the top and bottom rails. And the Aimpoint and mount could use some work... And the barrel really shouldn't be silver anyways, same bluish black as the rest..

Yes and no. The majority (I would guesstimate roughly 70% of the dropships) of the work is still touchups, as well as adding some stuff to the other ones. The APC is a shift in priority. It's also going slow due to work related issues, so it's still WIP.
-
More additional work.

Suffice to say when they'll be released is when they will be released, there's no other way to put it. But did some detail work, got the exhaust, door hinge, and prelim mud/dirt inside the wheelwells:
-
Added some more touchup work:

Well.... too bad the missile defense idea can't work... But I think I'm gonna leave the weathering alone for a bit, I just can't get a good feel for it, but here's what I've done so far:
-
Most of the photos are taken by SSG Shane A. Cuomo from the USAF Combat Camera team, so it would be nice if you credit his work http://562.50megs.com/VBS1/res/

You know if you want, I got some photos from Iraq. They may not totally feature the terrain, but I'm sure you'd be able to improve the look. BTW what city is that supposed to be? Samarra?

Tried some metal wear, though I don't like it too much. @Bobcatt666: What? If you're asking if it's completely mapped, no it's not. I got a real life (as small as it may be) and have to work, so there's gonna be some delay in getting things sorted out. That's why I post shots when I get something accomplished, to let people know I'm still working on it.
-
Yeah, I have to work on the insides of the wheel wells, and will get to the scratched edges too ;)
-
Yeah, I'm still working: I toned the white down a bit, wasn't sitting well with me. And fixed the tires, the line wasn't showing up unless you got right up on it, which of course isn't good...

Well look, I know I put 400 rounds through a 249 without barrel warp (but it was definitely smoking).  A) it was a cool day at the range, and B) I didn't fire long bursts.  Trust me homey, I got enough witnesses who can back me up  , as well as a combat patch that was earned kicking doors down, so take that as you wish.

Never heard of that mind you. But it would more than likely be an Su-30 providing the illumination rather than an Su-27, as the Su-30 is designed to be linked to an AWACS or within a flight. Â Then of course the Backfire would have to be suitably modified as well. Â And I'm sure Western Intel would have caught that, or maybe not. You also have to realize that the Backfire probably can only carry two AS-6s and that's it. It couldn't handle a fight if thier escorts got munched.
-
I really couldn't tell you as they come pre-packaged in the drums, and never took the time to do that. But I would guesstimate around 6-7 feet, maybe less.
-
You could have a thousand rounds linked together, it's all about burst technique..

Nope, though I forgot to mention that I was in the prone for that instance, it's very controllable. Fully standing up, it tends to recoil alot when you put alot of bullets through it of course, but it also tends to go high to the right though.
