I might be the only one, but I found this Gamestar preview from January and hadn't seen it before. I noticed that the civilians and other Ai are still walking in the middle of the streets instead of the sides of the roads. I've seen this cause traffic jams with my convoy missions. I wonder if someone from BI would elaborate if this is going to be improved with the more precise Ai map reference resolution? Otherwise it's looking awesome, can't wait to see what the new hire(s) will bring in terms of particle effects. :) -
I still have syntax errors when trying to use the clone option. nul=[this,"patrol1",randomdn,min:2/max:8,track] execVM "scripts\ups.sqf" What am I doing wrong here?

With XML you can have your squad's image on the arm patch. Is what I allways though would be cool is to have the username embroided on the uniform, like like this picture. Thanks for considering BIS. Â Example

First, great collection of goodies and thanks for the effort! Unfortunately I found a bug. I am making a MP coop mission that uses ACE and queens gambit addons. With the ACE version 1.07 on porto, When I create a OPFOR/CAR/Datsun PK1 arma crashes and gives me the error: Invalid crew soldierPB I lost about three hours of editing because I didn't save often :eek: -
I third these motions. Option to disable downloading custom media. Also option to disable AI voice without pbo or messing with audio levels.

I might be a minority here, but I hope BI doesn't have a deadline or pressure to get this done. The more time they have with the game, the better it will be. Right now there are plenty of games that keep me entertained quite happily. Empire Total War, Blackshark, ArmA, Free Falcon 5, etc.. As far as release dates go, publishers, retailers, and wizards can predict anything they want but I won't believe a word of it until I hear GOLD from the devs. -

TurkeyBurger, Download the ArmA demo here. Granted it won't be what ArmA 2 will be, but the general concept will be the same. Not sure if it includes the mission editor though. -
One thing that I think would be really awesome (after playing DCS:Blackshark for 6 months) is if the Ka-52/Ka-50 had a actual schvall (spelling). Instead of clicking the "lock next target" button, the user would have to look at his on board monitor and manually lockup targets.

Off topic - The game hasn't even gone gold, and they don't have a North American publisher yet. They just hired a part time particle effects programmer to do explosions, so I don't expect this game to come out anytime soon. On Topic - Are these all the ground vehicles that BLUFOR get? Not even a vulcan? Glad to see the MLRS though.

I don't know if this has already been requested but... Please have tag/revive respawn as part of the game engine! 0 or "NONE" 1 or "BIRD" 2 or "INSTANT" 3 or "BASE" 4 or "GROUP" 5 or "SIDE" 6 or "REVIVE"

I agree!! This was a major killer to great MP missions!! PLEASE try to give the Ai enough brains to fly/drive transport vehicles in a MP environment! I have a bunch of awesome coop missions in my scrap directory because I couldn't rely on Ai to insert/extract properly. If this is fixed there will be a sea of awesome missions for the community to play.

I think it would be pretty cool if the AI had alert states. If the Ai aren't alerted you can get away with one shot from the appropriate distance or the appropriate silencer. Once the Ai is alerted, they will spot your location if fired again. If the Ai don't find anything after being on alert for a few min, they go back to "safe" state and give the sniper another free-bee shot. It would also be cool if BIS included a fancy windage and elevation adjustments similar to NWD, but with graphical representation of actual MOA adjustments. Oh and please.... please bring back the civilian Hunting Rifle from OFP:R!

The USSR was bad, but N. Korea is worse. + All games don't have the NATO as the good guy, check into Digital Combat Simulator's combat helicopter simulation "Black Shark". It will have you whistling Gosudarstvenny Gimn Rossiyskoy Federatsii in no time. The good thing about the OFP/arma series is that the community can make campaigns (sometimes better campaigns). I would expect that with 6 factions/entities there will be many SP missions and campaigns released by the community. Don't let the out-of-the-box presentation distract you Gustav62, arma 2 will be a gg.

Cool video, I like the home-made propaganda approach. I wouldn't be surprised to see a little town called Tbilisia on this island.. As far as the whole OFP:2/DR comparison, who gives a rip? The vast majority of us on these boards are going to purchase both games anyway so why peck in the meantime? I will form my own opinion about both after I have bought and played each. Community content creation & modification is more important than out-of-the-box presentation to me. Can't wait to see the Russian video! Â

Does anyone know if someone from BIS would make a statement/reply if they decided to go with a community suggestion? I really hope they go with this so people don't have to make silly neon green faces just so they can be identified by team mates. I am pretty sure this would be a easy implementation even if it is last minute. I don't think any other mil sim developer has ever done such a thing.
