The UH-1Y (Bell 412)The UH-1Y is not a Griffon, although it's a Bell 412, you are right in that.
The UH-1Y is not a Bell 412, the engines are vastly different, the 412 uses the same type of engines used in the UH-1N while the UH-1Y uses the AH-1W engines, the tail has also been changed to match the AH-1Z so it looks quite different.

Erm, that's an American vehicle, the British Army do not use the RSOV, they have their own Landrover version for the same role.

just one problem with the brdm is that youve based it one the bis model which is exactly a chezch OT- something or other there similar but it anit the same thingbut well see what we can do
Yep, we know, and have always known, using the current BIS model was a quick and easy solution to creating an OPFOR APC, simple as that.

Also, i would take anything Al Jazeera report with a bucket of saltSurely the same can be said of any US govt website which tells us that DU is as harmless as sand Â
Al-Jazeera cant concote anything out of itself all it does is sensationalize the news a crime which every media outlet these days is to be blamed for not only them.
If they showed pics of the deformed foetus then its to attract Int'l attention which is otherwise glued to their bloody seats hoping those elusive WMDs would be found sometime soon that theres another crisis in Iraq too one which no one is looking up to. But yeah for you it will be some gruesome tactic unless CNN showed it otherwise then it will be medical crisis or some other fancy term i guess....
I am not siding with any one here just asking to keep a balanced opinion.
The links i have posted are from the British MOD, not the US Government. Also, following links from that page you can find several other independant reports on the effects of depleted uranium, for instance the Royal Society information on DU (including reports).
Quote[/b] ]A recent United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report giving field measurements taken around selected impact sites in Kosovo (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) indicates that contamination by DU in the environment was localized to a few tens of metres around impact sites. Contamination by DU dusts of local vegetation and water supplies was found to be extremely low. Thus, the probability of significant exposure to local populations was considered to be very low.World Health Organization DU Links
UN's Post-Conflict Assessment Unit
Also, any news report/website or channel that shows graphic images without displaying a warning first is wholly in the wrong, the images i saw on the Al Jazeera website could have been viewed by anyone and were by far enough to give children nightmares. A bloody malformed corpse of a baby, whether it be shown by Americans or Arabs is something that should never be broadcast, the loss of a baby should be mourned, not waved around to further someones political views and aims.

I have just found this very interesting website from the British Ministry of Defence on the use and facts concerning depleted uranium. Although it will probably be disregarded here as bile seeing as it does not support abandoning DU as a weapon but i am much more inclined to believe this evidence and the various sources it is taken from than the bunch of anarchists hell bent on 'rebelling' against anything slightly resembling a government. Also, i would take anything Al Jazeera report with a bucket of salt, i have just visited their site and on one of their pages they resort to showing pictures of deformed bloody foetus', a truly sickening tactic of getting people to believe these deaths are attributable to DU, even though the deaths and malformities could be caused by many naturally occuring illnesses and no evidence is put forward to back up their claim that DU was in fact to blame.
Quote[/b] ]Didn't use of DU in the 1990-91 Gulf Conflict lead to cancers and birth defects in Iraq?Media reports of DU-induced cancers and birth defects in Iraq have not been substantiated with credible scientific evidence. Many other factors need to be considered as possible causes, for example, some scientists have blamed the former Iraqi Government's use of chemical weapons on its own citizens.
The Royal Society's report on "The Health Hazards of Depleted Uranium Munitions" Part II states that "Modelling of the amounts of DU resuspended from soil in the years following a conflict indicates that the estimated inhalation intakes will not lead to any increase in the incidence of lung cancer or any other cancers among children or adults. Nor are they likely to lead to any significant effects on kidney function."
With regard to reports of foetal deaths and malformations in children born after conflicts, the Royal Society's aforementioned reports conclude that "These reports are of obvious concern but are very difficult to interpret as reliable data on the rates of foetal death and malformation prior to and following these conflicts are not available." Also, "the WHO has initiated studies to ascertain whether reproductive health in Iraq has declined since the Gulf War. If there have been increased rates of foetal death and malformation it will again be difficult to know whether this is due to DU as the population of Iraq has been subjected to multiple toxic exposures". Furthermore, "It should also be remembered that malnutrition can increase the incidence of malformations (eg the link between neural tube defects and folic acid deficiency is firmly established)."

Not true, since the UH-60Q Dustoff is specialised for that purpose.Actually the HH-60L is the current medivac chopper version, the UH-60Q is the 'old' version.

Hi,Can I know why when using JAM_SD ammo on existing weapons (AS, VSS, AK103SD), I have always a bug with the scope, I shoot and the bullet go to high (every guns [even the bizon] and every SD ammo)...
Example: if I take the SSV_F2000, i have two version of the gun, one SD and one normal, if I use JAM_W556_30mag the scope working fine, the bullet go where you pointed. But, when I use JAM_W556_30SDmag for the SD version of the same addon, the crosshair or scope is not working good, the bullet don't shoot target So please help me, or tell me why i have these strange behaviour...
How to remove this ? Its JAM_magazines bug ? or the probs come from the add on ? Sould I add something in the config.cpp ?
Its because the bullet is subsonic and the sight needs zeroing, you can do this by adjusting these two figures in the config until the shot lines up with the sight:
distanceZoomMin=400;
distanceZoomMax=400;
These config entries go in the CfgWeapons section of your config for each weapon.

maybe navy seals can go out before christmas  ?Highly unlikely, there may be something released before Christmas but it depends on how much time is available to work on it (and on a few other factors).

And another side note, Delta have infact taken part in rescue missions, during Operation Just Cause in Panama they rescued an American citizen from captivity:
-
I just find I absorb a lot of bullets - once a direct hit from 20 meters away, 7.62x51mm (PKM) to the face - and shrapnel, whatnot. Sorta reduces gameplay a little I find. Shutting up.AK
I have never seen that happen, i can kill the delta/rangers with a pistol bullet to the face, anyway any more comments on the Delta/Ranger armour should probably be put into the bas thread, dont want to send suchey/earls thread offtopic.
-
The RK-62 is the standard-issue 7.62x39mm Assault Rifle, issued to Finnish Defense Forces... it's got a kick on it, in-game, and its pretty effective at putting people down. Excepting the BAS Rangers. They are bullet sponges. The Interceptor vests (which the Rangers are wearing in the addon) are stopping AK rounds in Iraq, there have been several instances of 7.62x39 rounds being stopped by the Interceptor vests, so the armour modelling on the Rangers is not unrealistic.

LOLWhy does this not suprise me? Haha... Thats one thing some Americans are good at coming up with, stupid lawsuits ; )
Did all Americans come up with this? No, it was ONE (probably very lonely and socially outcast) American that did this.
The UK has a similarly hideous, if not worse, track record when it comes to PC decisions.
Need I say "Ba baa baa" or "blackboard"?
such as..?
Blackboard must now be chalkboard, and it has to be "baa baa shee-eep" because it might offend black people. Stupid, huh?
I love the way they change the 'blackboard' name and yet leave the 'whiteboard', can anyone say double-standards?

I dont know when it will be released, we have no plans for an update and both me and selectthis are busy with other things, so it could be quite a while, as for the smoke grenades all you need to do is add the eventhandler found on the jam troops onto your troops and the script will initiate for the bis smoke grenades (and also the smoke on the RPG/LAW's will appear).
-
Which 1 is?The one called 'Addon Config and Scripting' surprisingly enough.
-
This is not the config forum (which you seem to forget quite often).
-
Well then you could use the AK 47/74 silenced mags.
-
Instead of keeping those mag definitions there and the soldiers using them not working, why not make the AK 103/107 use JAM AK47/AK74 mags and the SVU use the SVD mag, surely this is better than having error messages every time.
-
Hey what you are saying there has happend a year ago or some thing and it is not true what BAS is telling you!BTW: You offend me really with that what you are saying because now you are puting me against BAS ( again )
So edit it please! Â
We haven't told him anything, please dont accuse us of lying.

That vehicle looks like a crushed ruskie waiting to happen, far too high a center of gravity.

No information on what the Dorchester armour is, but apparently it is used:
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/challenger2.htm
And a forum post on this page:
http://kier.3dfrontier.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-49547
And another here which is probably the one you're talking about:
http://www.strategypage.com/messageboards/messages/2-2083.asp
Not really any definitive answer on what it is or the capability of it, but it does seem to be better than the armour on the Abrams' in the gulf at the minute.

Work is still ongoing on that project. I've had quite a few emails from people wondering why their littlebirds they downloaded a while ago havent changed to use the new animations, as though they were expecting some kind of remote update...it simply does not happen like that, the addon needs to be released before there will be a change.
