    ive been playing it a hell of a lot too, this thing keeps on sucking me in for hours at a time, i agree with the observation problems, scouting an entire island with only a couple of helos is pretty hard, i usually steal the cobra and start flying around all the roads (as the ai stick to the roads and finding a black soldier on a yellow road is pretty easy), also setting up patrolling routes for each platoon, but its pretty hard to have a decent coverage of all regions, maybe a couple more platoons would help, also ive noticed charlie platoon(2nd and 3rd squads) doesnt have the 'in formation' option when it starts, is there a way to turn this on? also there are no refueling/repair/ammo trucks for the helos so patrolling in a cobra can only go on so long as eventually you are going to run out of ammo, i also noticed you said the ratings were out of 100, ive had mine up to 350 on one region (my first time, i was really bad) and it was always VC is this a bug? ive been playing around in the editor, mainly to make things easier on myself, and its normally handy to have a couple of ai controlled cobras on your team, so you can send them to the hotspots which means you dont have to use artillery (which is good when the friendly squads are close to the enemy), also im not sure if you are going to keep the updates but adding a marker for where each region is might be good for the moment, i also did small things like adding the resupply trucks, if you are up for suggestions i think something like a H&M for the americans would be good, but rewarded with information rather than troops, so if an american presence is in a town for say 5 minutes a 'general area' of a couple of enemy squads is displayed on the map, anyway this is a great mission, and as ebud said, hurry up and finish it!

    as everyone else has said this is a fantastic addon, but i did notice a small thing, when i was using the MT-LBv there was some kind of polygon floating about 50m above each vehicle, it definately doesnt look like its supposed to be there so i thought id mention it...

    this sounds great, just one thing, where/how do i install it? the zip just opens up into a folder with all the mission stuff in, so that points to putting it in the mission editor missions folder...but there are no .abel/.eden's on the end...so im completely confused...

    the M16 is a P3Dedit, the Car-15 isnt edited i dont think, the car-15 with xm-148 was edited in oxygen, and the dash was there on purpose, it denotes a magazine with dispersion there were also magazines included with the dispersion unchanged so making them more accurate was unneccessary but as i said i wouldnt mind seeing what youve done, the main complaint was sounds on the weapons so it would be nice to see what yours are like, where did you get the M16A1 model from? i am planning to go back through the weapons (mainly the BIS ones) and give them higher detail models, the M16A1 would be a good one to tick off my list, cant find enough close up shots of it... [edit: oh ive just remembered, you say youve got sounds for the CAR-15, they should actually be for an XM-177E2 as thats what the gun actually is, we just called it by its generic name so people didnt get confused, a couple of comparisons just incase anyone is confused CAR-15: and the main difference: XM-177E2:

    er, im not too keen on this being released...the whole point of the nam pack was for there to be one version with everything needed, if people make a mission with the old version and someone plays it with yours there could be different outcomes, however if you want to send us your work some of it could be incorporated into a patch, we are getting closer to finding out whats causing the crash so there may possibly be some sort of update coming

    its good overall, just like the old version, but some of the new things have very basic mistakes, like the canopy animation, its all in lower case and looks rough and unprofessional compared to the rest of the action menu, or the bomblet bug, that should have been picked up straight away in beta testing, ive also heard that it messes with your bis civilian>plane (havent tested that myself though), i think we'll be seeing version 1.2 in the not so far off future...

    i just had a quick go at this one, and heres what i thought, its generally good but there are a few things i noticed that were wrong, mainly youve given the US forces NVA vehicles, you probably need to swap them for M48A3's and M113's, also an assault on a LZ would probably be conducted from the air so maybe changing one of the cobras for a respawning UH-1H would be a good idea, also it might be good if you add a protective zone around the respawns, mainly for the VC as its very easy to sit on top spawn killing with the cobra, with those changes this will be a very fun c&h edit: i just remembered, i didnt play as the VC so im not sure if these are there, the SA-7 is something you should add to the VC (probably best to use the BIS one(9K32M Strela), ours (SEB) isnt too good at locking on) and plenty of RPG-7's available, going up against tanks will need something heavy, also i didnt check this either but if you havent added it, respawning vehicles is something you should think about adding

    thats because that vehicle is not a BMD-3, its a BMD-3M the old BMD-3 (i think the M stands for modernised, or equivalent in russian) is armed with the 2A42 cannon seen on the BMD-2 and BMP-2

    you arent comparing your mod to bis surely? i dont see you guys writing a new game code...or config'ing from scratch the whole thing, a few new models and missions does not constitute a full game

    the AK-47/74 have burst modes so the ai fire them at a decent rate i believe, they only fire full auto if you up the dispersion or tweak them (check the nam pack for the effect of this)
