The Wessex is a version with turbine engines instead of piston engines, i know there used to be a few flying out of the army base in Dhekelia, Cyprus, mainly because i saw them although i left in the middle of 2000 and they were still flying, no idea if they are still active

1969 vietnam version 2.0 is here!

it still loaded all the ofp/res/addons, although i suppose it could have been because it was using a shortcut of resistance (copied my dynamic range stuff and used it as a template, changed names/overwrote the addons folder etc), i dont have the time to do it again, but if you want an ofp with no ofp/addons folder you would need to install 1.00 then 1.75 then 1.91

actually, from talking to a source inside the US Army i believe they dont/wont be using the M16A3/4, which only difference from the M16A2 is that it has a flat top receiver for mounting optics, and one of them has full auto instead of burst, near enough the whole us army is switching to the M4 series, its just as accurate as the M16A2 and can have varius optics mounted on it easily and its good for FIBUA/CQB, so the M16A2 and M4 would probably be better than an M16A3/4

For the record I was wrong, the XM301 cannon only fires at a maximum rate of 1500SPM. It starts at 750SPM and rev's up to 1500SPM, in several seconds. This should sound more like a loud ripping sound, rather than a solid buzz, anyway. I have heard some fantastic sound effects for aircraft gun's like G8's Tornados, and just feel that DKM could have done slightly better in this regard. And for the record, I'm not being rude or harsh, here. Just offering some constructive criticism, for the benefit of all. And for those people that think the gun is too powerful, here's a site that should help: http://www.aircav.com/cobra/ammo20.html.<span id='postcolor'> The correct URL is: Â http://www.aircav.com/cobra/ammo20.html You left a period in the URL (at the end) which takes it to some web hosting page. Helicopter landing gear

i think skids should be able to do just that, skid, it is possible to do running take offs with skids, in the vietnam war the UH-1C had so little engine power and weighed so much (6 tonnes, compared to 3 for a slick) that they had to taxi and bounce the helo up and down to get enough height to stay in the air, i guess wheels are there to A: make it aerodynamic when they are raised and B: protect with landings as obviously a skid cant have much suspension and probably just snaps, although i dont think taxiing is possible in ofp in helos, as i believe real helicopters use the collective to get forward/reverse speed (as well as tilting forwards), but we have no such control in ofp, it would be good if they could be used to land though, also if they made it so that helos dont explode with every crash it would be better, so if you came in a little hot it would say break the wheels (like on planes) and maybe smash the windows a bit

The flares that fire from the grenade launchers or actual working flares?  What Evi is talking about (Evi correct me if I'm mistaken) is the flare system created by Colorchanger for his Tornado fighter-bomber addon (part of the G8 mod).  This flare system actually works against missiles.  Putting regular flares that dropped from a helicopter would just be eye candy and not do anything...plus they'd only visible at night.  Colorchanger's flares in contrast are visible during the daytime and they actually stop missiles most of the time.  If you created independently such a system you should have released it with some kind of addon and taken credit for it.  At any rate, if you haven't seen colorchanger's flare system in action, you should check out the G8 Tornado.  The way it works isn't all that realistic, but it works well (too well sometimes) so I'm not complaining.  I just hope that future aircraft will slow down the rate of fire for the flares so that way it gives AA missiles a greater chance of destroying the aircraft. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD><span id='postcolor'> nope your not mistaken, ours work a lot like that, but it is more automatic, you dont have to fire them off for it to work, they are automatic so you can fire the M134 while flares drop
