As stated earlier...... Where will the waste be in 3000 years? Will 'terrorists' have used them as targeting practice? Will we still be servicing them? That's like asking tthe people around Ramses to secure his grave, and pass his final words generation through generation to us - and that we woulæd have his final words non-polluted. Do you REALLY trust the human race that much? I don't - just look at history, it's pretty obvious.
-
Yea, and where do they put the waste? And more importantly - where will the waste be in 3000 years? Just imagine the human race to secure a facility for 3000 years makes me laugh... We couldn't do it in 100 years, lol.

Ahh, sorry. My fault

I'm of course for wind power. Infact, the energy used at this computer i'm typing this, was generated through wind-power. As i'm from Denmark, i'm pretty used to see windmills over the country sides, so I don't really see them as ugly. I can see a few myths and weird arguments against them, though. New windmills doesn't really make any noise. We recently had windmills which is 100 metres high and with 50 metres per wing (100 metres in diameter). You cannot hear the generator from ground, you can only hear the winds ressistance against the wings. 200 metres away from the windmill it is completely silent for the human ear. The noice is even lower with smaller mills (new ones). Granted, the old ones had some noisy generators, but that is ancient history . I have never seen one single bird killed from a windmill - if it's such a big problem, why come I have never seen any dead birds around windmills? Do they magically disapeer? I'm pretty sure the mills doesn't kill more birds than your average window in your house does - or your car for that matter. Electromagnetic pollution? Come on, man! Youve got to be kidding me. Sure it's high voltage, but it's not dangerous for you. It's a simple generator. I'm 110% sure that you are more affected by electromagnetism standing next to your turned on computer (or by having a cellphone in your pocket), than standing next to the biggest windmill you can find. Besides, electro magnetism isn't dangerous to biological tissure. Just look at your local hospital using MR scanners with up to 3 tesla magnets. Now THAT is some serious buttkicking electro magnetism. And still - no sideeffect have ever been seen. As I am from Denmark, we, as a country, have always had tradition to use wind for our energy source. Back when we were vikings, the wind was used to transport ships. Watersports using wind is very popular here, as we do HAVE alot of wind in some places here. I myself is a kite surfer enthusiasts, and love to do just that. I guess that is why windpower is such a natural selection for us people. Btw. Balchoiw, you are a bit wrong in your numbers though. In 2020, the goal is 75% of Denmarks eletricity usage to be wind-powered, not 50%. Cheers.

eye-candy stuff in the games,in rea useful or not?

It's just a simple question about evolution. It has been proven easier to develop the graphics contra the artificial intelligence. The AI in general are still under development, and is evolved just as advanced through the years as the graphics have. Just look at teh AI of ping/pong contra ArmA. -
Yea, the anti piracy systems this game is using is pathetic. They should use online checking for the games instead.

When I stayed at my aunts house the time my dad pushed my mom down the stairs, and she was in the hospital. I got to play it on my cousins computer. It was even more disappointing then my copy of Arma. My cousin loves it. He has always been distracted by bright colors and flashing lights ever since the accident and the resulting brain damage. Arma and bioshock provide him with hours of entertainment. Before he used to sit for hours eating paint chips and playing with his little people play set, but would get really frustrated with its complexity. Now he plays Amra and Bioshock on his computer and thanks to how uncomplex and unchallenging they are - he never get frustrated. Im happy for him. Happy birthday and a nice life for you as well!

I agree on Ron Paul. I'm not too keen on his talk about "God" in some interviews. I really don't wanna see another religious nutcase as a leader for any country.

I want to be able to play multiplayer on the campaign map! Will it finally be possible in this one?

It might be a deeper tone due to the larger area of the air pressure difference, but it shouldn't be louder. -
3th post from the bottom I'm not saying we shouldn't reduce polution and CO2 output. I just don't want it to be done for the wrong reasons. IF we say now: "We should reduce energy consumption because CO2 causes global warming" and 20 years later it turns out it wasn't the CO2 lots of people will say "Wtf, I got bummed" and noone will ever be as eager to reduce energy consumption as most people are today. Ah, sorry... It was me who typed that . Yea, but it's not only about global warming, it's also the effects CO2 has on other things. The chemical acid/base balance is shifted due to CO2 pollution which makes some of the oceans uninhabitable for some species. We should decrease CO2 production to a minimum simply because of these direct concequences CO2 has. Global warming comes second, but sadly global warming is the main focus by the media right now. Must be because there simply are NO arguments against these directly associated problems with CO2 in our oceans, so no 'liberals' dare to take it into a discussion or dialog.

I think you are talking about this post: I've looked into wikipedia but I can't seem to find anything about the composition of the greenhouse gasses. I can only find tables which show man made greenhouse gasses. Does anyone has found a table about a composition of the greenhouse gas, made up out of all the different gasses, including water and co2. I want to see how big percentage of the greenhouse gasses they are. Further more your post I quoted above kinda shocks me. Are you really prepared to spend like 1% of your GNP on something which you aren't sure off? I certainly ain't. I'm not sure who you're asking cause the post you qouted weren't entirely from me. But of course i'm ready to use money on a more lasting energy source which generates less CO2 and other pollutive gasses and particles. No question about that. I don't think we should go on a CO2 rampage shutting down everything that produces CO2, that would simply ruin the economy. But closing our eyes would be the dumbest thing mankind have done in its existence especially now, where we have the oppertunity to fix things this early. I'm 100% convinced that we are able to make a change, but if we want the change to matter, we have to do something NOW, and not in 50 years.

Please could you read the thread before posting things that are just plain wrong? Gisen If your going to quote someone don't edit what they said. As an incentive to not even consider doing such again +1WL and 48HR PR The adding removing or compeltely changing a quote from someone is viewed very dimly here. Maybe it was there before mr_tea edited is post?

Please could you read the thread before posting things that are just plain wrong? Lol, Gisen. Don't you understand that saying things like this and using phrases like "anti-warming crowd" won't be helping you a bit. It will only sound like you're 12 or something. If you want to sound scientific and persuade other persons to share your beliefs act mature. I personally ain't that worried about global warming. I'm more worried about how people react to it. Somehow I got the feeling that because of this hype now you ain't allowed to have different opinions about the subject. People who don't support the CO2 theorie are ridiculed (as you are doing all the time) and sometimes even threatened. We shouldn't forget the fact that lots of people benefit from the CO2 theorie. What I personally don't get about the CO2 theorie is the amount of CO2 gasses. From what I've heard the majority of the greenhouse gasses is made up out of water vapor. CO2 is only a small part. How can this small part have caused such an increase in temperature? I'm personally in favor of reducing our energy consumption. I just don't want it to be done out of a wrong motive. Positive feedback loop, but please read the thread - cause it IS really a pain to explain it for the 20th time.

The ArmA AI can only be used as sentry guns when you are in group with them.
-
Yea, it could be everything. Shinraiden, there are always bound to be some nutcases in all size and shapes - and some people just can't see the concequences of certain actions. Those people shouldn't have been in charge in the first place, though.

Doesn't matter how many previous presidents pardoned. That just shows how f*cked up the american system is - and always have been. But I guess it's "the land of the free - if you are friends with the president".

I think it also had to do with the way textures are being intelligently reused over and over again. Actually, they are being generated on the run.

lol that statement is absolute garbage, yes some people can detect higher FPS then 60. lol, not when your refresh rate is 60 anyway Also, another thing... He won't notice the difference, but it's not limited at 26 hz though. The human eye can only notice 26 FPS, but to prevent aliasing, the source must be at two times eye fps. Sort of like the opposite nyquist theorem, that is why you won't see a difference between 52 fps, and 600 fps. But you will be able to see a (quite large) difference between 60 fps and 40 fps.

That looks the same... I played that game a couple years ago. Haven't they come any further?

Maybe they are mad about the pubs closing so early there?

I just posted it, as the theme is not out of date, and of a lack of any other thread to post it in. (I'm sure if I made a new topic, it would be closed within minutes).

This isn't directly related to US politics, but more about the media in the US. More precise, Fox news. Check out this video: (Outfoxed) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6737097743434902428

lol You really think they'll send in the feds to a game-server hosting company?
