  1. Thank you for the definite answer. I have sent my email:

    To PeterGamers DE (Morphicon DE),

    I have purchased the ArmA II (German version) from petergames.de under the email address ****@******.co.uk . The release was made made one month earlier in Germany and as a fan of the ArmA series and being English without hesitation made my purchase via download, on the day of release. It has now been over six months since I purchased and still playing with my language set to German. For myself and many others, this has caused many troubles all over the world, including Germans themselves who prefer English and do not like the inadequate translations within the game.

    Recently, it has come to my knowledge that BIS (Bohemia Interactive Studios) are unable to release an update to enable English and other languages on German versions due to contract terms between them and Morphicon. Again, it has been over six months since Morphicon had a month's headstart on release as we have waited patiently expecting an English patch. As a result of such inconvenience this can only damage the future sales from Morphicon/PeterGames and unnecessarily hurt the reputation of BIS.

    On behalf of myself and the many other customers who are experiencing the same inconveniences I am asking kindly to re-evaluate these terms within the contract between BIS and Morphicon.

    Regards,

    *********.

    I advise everyone else to send an email (copy mine if you wish). As one email from myself isn't going to do much.

  2. You just say that it is probably a problem with the publishers.

    It's quite clear that if we were told by an official over at BIS about the situation regarding the contract policies that this whole issue over the signatures could have been avoided and many of us may have already sent an email. Are these little details confidential or something?

    In the meantime - however tempting - to send an email to petergames_de@nexway.com I am not going to look like an idiot just because it is 'probably' a problem with the publishers.

  3. :bitch:

    What an ironic approach to call people newbies and tell them to stop talking about the stamina system, then continue to talk about the stamina system...

    I do actually really like the system, but the blackouts to me are plain annoying and should be kept at the top end of the spectrum when you almost cannot run any further because you're so tired. Up until then, blurs or a faster and louder heartbeat would be much better IMO. But when your screen starts flashing and keeps on doing so even after like one minute when recovering it really gets to me.

  4. Before the release of ArmAII in press releases and information about the game I was under the impression that ArmAII was only going to be fully supported for dual cores only. Found it....

    Wtf? What is happening at cpucount=3.

    Anyone want to show me what results they get after a fair test running ArmAII-mark two times in a row with the different cpucount number. Running phenom II X4 @3.4ghz here.

  5. what part of first post isn't simple and clear enough ?

    strangely enough i find Your post to be bit redundant to state already what i wrote in first post and other posts :j::rolleyes:

    As I am not very familiar with mumble, until I read tcp's post I really had no idea on what you were suggesting. As I can read from some other peoples replies it's obvious they were not quite sure either.

    I don't get it, what is the point? What benefit would this actually give to mumble without the plugin? Positional radio only really needs to be supplemented for direct chat, and will this support even fade with the distance of the speaker from the player?

    Sure, I'm all for it if you're planning on creating a plugin yourself. But I'd rather like BIS themselves to spend time and resources into improving the VON that we have than providing a plug-in to simulate positional placement in-game of the speaker for mumble.

  6. Out of curiousity, has anyone else noticed that the high pitch whine effects (such as blast shock) is just too high pitch?

    Maybe my sound card/headphone combo is just that good but I have to literally take off my headphones whenever I get the effect because it hurt my ears to the point of me feeling sick. A little too much realism for my taste.

    I even noticed the same tendancy for high pitch noise in the scout helo rotor noise. Its just barely tolerable in 1st person view due to the more muffled sound.

    What do you think about the MH6/AH6, from outside the vehicle? :P

    This will drive you insane.

  7. Sure, I don't mind if female soldiers are ingame. Just give them the appropriate classes and inventory slots. :ok:

    There has to be a line drawn somewhere with realism, unless you want ArmA2 turned into OFP2.

    I guess in the meantime there are infact some girls out there who would prefer to play as female. If they don't enjoy ArmAII as it stands then they could always play warrock, combatarms or tombraider if they don't like playing as a guy? :shrug:

  8. Add this pic to your signature guys, maybe seeing it on every corner of the forums is going to make the devs do it.

    EDIT: Watch out for having additional stuff in your signature though, so you don't break the rules (number 16 especially).

    And remember to make at least one post each day so that it may actually stray further than this topic. :P

  9. Just one thing, trying to get\download A.C.E 2 with the Six updater. It says starting application 2.3.5 on http://127.0.0.1:16333. But when the web client opens the internet browser, just says look up error. I can't get connected for some reason, tryed 10 times and still the same message. Is their a alternate down load for A.C.E II. If not,WHY NOT?

    What if people can not connect to this server for some reason, thier just **** out of luck or what. Thank you in advance for any help or mirror links. I'll try again tomorow some time..

    http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/ace-mod2/Lazy

    Go there.

    Once there download one of those files depending whether you're running a beta patch or not. Follow the instructions: Place file in six-updater folder. When done start sixupdater and run option 2.

    OK, one less for you to answer sickboy and ACE-team, I hope I made time for you to answer my question some posts back. :)

  10. On a Sunday I get on my knees and pray in the direction of Bohemia Interactive Studios. To not perform this act is blasphemy.

    Well, really, you signed up to tell us your friend has bought the game. I hope you sign back in one day to let us know how things go. :lookaround:

  11. :391:

    Grass rendered at such distances (6000 meters) in the current ARMA2 engine would be unnecessary and be the cause of major performance problems. There would be absolutely no real visual improvement having grass that is rendered and therefore rendered pointless at up to 6000meters. 1000meters? Maybe. This is common sense.

    However, most likely with a remake of the engine then grass could be viewable at super distances when only rendering it when zoomed in on the location/when necessary for visual impact .

  12. I'm wondering if there are any plans for islands in the future, like the ACE Island pack. That would be nice but I'd much prefer a couple of HQ islands than the old converts, not saying they would be bad though. A nice 'desert-like' afghan/iraq would be nice to help with some performance issues and to reflect upon modern ongoing conflits as a realism aspect.

    If new islands are released then will they be released under the current @ACE or @ACEX (presumably most viable option) folders? It would be nice to see it done this way as personally I fear that many servers will decide not to run the extra islands if they where separated. And also, many players will missed and not installed the appropriate files to join in servers that are using 3rd party islands.

    The downside of this is that servers or clients will not have a choice to enable or disable the islands when running Extras or mod, but really, there is no disadvantage in that. Secondly, islands are usually or sometimes consist of large data and distributing them through updates may not be as feasible, problems like this could be reduced by distributing a set of core files for each island first?

    I'm just saying this because I thought that the islands where a feature which were under-utilised in ArmA1 and could have been a great addition.

  13. Signed. :)

    I still don't understand why people buy the German version, when an English version is very clearly on sale, and complain about the lack of languages other than German...

    I can't understand why someone wouldn't rather Buy a German version if they prefer English and it is AVAILABLE. But OBVIOUSLY a lot of people wanted the game right away, including myself.

    I have waited over 6 months now and still waiting for a patch to add the English language. Infact, I have even purchased a second copy of ArmAII just to have English. It would be nice to have two English versions so that my brother may use the second copy of the game. If I am not mistaken then the German version of ArmA1 was infact patched to have English (as I was told) which is one of the reasons I had no worries buying a German version of ArmAII.

  14. I have written a little more on improving performance.

    Altering these values in ArmA2.cfg may improve performance slightly:

    GPU_DetectedFramesAhead="80";
    GPU_MaxFramesAhead="4";

    Lowering mouse smoothing in profile.arma2profile values can reduce mouse lag and may improve FPS slightly:

    mouseSmoothing=1;

    Higher FOV increases performance, take your FOV values and multiply them both the same. E.g. values 0.75 and 1.20 become 0.975 and 1.56 when multiplied by 1.3. Use to your liking. This does not effect your zoom distances.

    fovTop=0.97500002;
    fovLeft=1.5599999;
