  1. This is just a very simple suggestion. It wouldn't hurt to implement a few of the classic (if not all) tracks into ArmA 3. There's so much good music in all of the games. I don't think it would hurt BIS in any way at all. Each game has it's own style of music in general, which give off different moods. Given extra tracks gives mission makers the ability to capture different emotions (believe it or not, music does add a level of immersion due to emotional impact). It also improves the longevity of the game, listening to the same music and same styles and moods can get boring quickly. Even the music itself will bring back memories and create that nostalgic feeling, being able to enjoy the game without even pressing a key. Yes, mission makers can put their own music in the missions, but that takes extra effort and reduces accessibility (more downloading etc). :bounce3: Get some of that ArmA 1 "rock" style back. :coop:

    My impressions are that people are going to need a super computer to play the game smoothy. With these options it only makes the game more accessible, I am very much for them.

    Been playing this game for about three days now. I find it really fun, being able to customise your character, choose your skills and boosts and stuff to suit the ways you want to play. There are many tactical elements once you get into it. Yeah, the actual gameplay feeling might sometimes feel like you're playing something from 2004 with a complete makeover, but there are many elements within that don't meet the eye. If anyone looks at the game and is concerned that you will need to pay to get all the good stuff and work your ass off to buy ingame items and such, then don't be. You do get free currency, just by playing the last few days I've gotten about $30 worth of gamepoints, which you can get on leveling up, registering and playing a certain amount of hours. Also, I have about 90,000 gold dollars which enough to rent out a nice uniform/armour/weapons etc, for one loadout for about a month, before running out (but I won't run out at all since I'll be playing). Firstly you can use things like reflex sights and scopes as attached on weapons. Secondly, if you're reloading and throwing away mags with 20 rounds left in, then that's your issue there. You can resupply at a crate or take the "double-up" ability which allows you to carry eight magazines for standard weapons other than four. The only reasons you've put for disliking the game itself is because you're a crap player, so it seems.

    Can you tell apart the frame rates?

    The difference between the 30fps and 60fps is noticeable. In games I find the differences between fps even more noticeable since you can "feel" it when moving around, there is a lack of precision/control. If that makes any sense.

    ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

    Not sure if this was mentioned. IMPROVED POST PROCESS EFFECTS OPTION TO REMOVE THE "BAD-EYESIGHT" EFFECT Please none of that glowing cows BS or bad eyesight blurry BS. My eyesight isn't the best myself, and every time I put on post process effects in ArmA2 my ingame eyesight becomes worse than my own. Just tone things down a little please, BIS. ArmA 1 never seemed to have this problem. The ideas are okay, but they are OVER THE TOP. Options to remove this bad eyesight effect or lower it. LOWER GRASS IN AREAS. PEER ABILITY Laying down and not being able to see a single foot in-front of your face. Not all grass and vegetation is over two foot high in real life. Especially in areas populated by humans and livestock (fields with animals). Peer option to quickly rise and descend above the grass-top to look around, rather than changing stance altogether. I guess these suggestions relate to awareness.
  8. The only BI game I have on steam is OA and BAF. It's horrible to manage. My target line often runs out of space because of steams long file paths. Larger patches Copying back and forth files when patching to SSD an running them via -mod Issues running CO (mainly just creating work for me) Had problems getting the beta patches working (to allow me to at least play without steam) If it wasn't for the fact I won OA, I would definately have gone with the DVD or Sprocket version. And, the same for anymore future ArmA titles. I have many games on steam, but I do not think that steam easily allows the freedom that this game sometimes needs. If Steamworks support includes things such as joining games through the friends list and being able to view/add friends in current games then it could be a potential improvement towards the multiplayer community.

  12. CHASE 13 pm_RxbqId74 WTF does CHASE mean? This is a singleplayer/multiplayer co-op campaign thm planning on working on. Before I would like to share the general idea with anyone interested, or would like to make a criticism. The plan is to have about three missions altogether, requiring only combined operations and being around 4-6 player coop (haven't decided). Before I begin creating the missions I want to get the story straight. The story is completely fictional and is set in the near future. Without revealing any "Spoilers", here is the background summary and introduction to my planned campaign. Summary US plans invasion on Iran to gain territorial control and oil resources. Stockpiles of nerve agents that were smuggled into Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan war era have been "re-discovered". There is no evidence of the importation of the encased chemicals, the US plans to re-brand and use these toxic substances against it's own troops to stage an Iranian chemical attack against its own troops. UK and Russian intelligence agencies work together, the US's undercover ambitions are soon revealed. UK and Russia conspire against the US and conduct an operation to prevent the invasion. Full Intro Story I currently have a general idea of what will happen during the missions and an ending, which will be a sad one. Bare in mind that the story is fictional and I did think it up whilst I was half asleep. So, I want criticisms... If you managed to bare to read through it or not.... If you think it's fine, then let me know. If you find some inconsistencies, then let me know. :)

  16. The XM8s that we already have feel kinda clunky to me already. What about the Barrett M468? Introducing 6.8mm rounds to vanilla would be interesting, I'd have thought. Other ideas perhaps? LWRC M6 variants... TAR-21 variants I'm thinking add new stuff too -- not just new variants of my least favourite gun ingame.

    in the mine clearing mission you use T, to swap to the engineer. or backspace, F(number), action, disarm mine, to command.
