I thought I fixed my problem by reverting to older drivers. Well, I did fix the main problem, but still have a little one. I still get the clicking sound occasionally, like when pressing 'esc' to pause the game.

Do you wish to have BattlEye in ArmA II?
Dead3yez replied to HOPEnSPIRIT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
:raisebrow: Well you believe wrong and I have no idea what drew you that conclusion. Here are some I have played: BF2, BF:Heroes, FC2, COD2, COD4, RS: vegas, AA2, AA3, NFS: Pro Street, F.E.A.R, War Rock. PB is not perfect, no anti-cheat is perfect. Yes, I have had problems with punkbuster, many. There are many other alternatives aside PB. My view on battleye is pretty much the same as this: -
Do you wish to have BattlEye in ArmA II?
Dead3yez replied to HOPEnSPIRIT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
BattleEye caused a lot of troubles for me and many the servers that I played on. I would like to see an alternative or at least a vastly improved version. -
When I have something new to add, I will just create separate modules for each setting. Then you can choose which .pbo / setting you want to use.

Aren't the pilots supposed to be able to control the miniguns on a UH1-Y?
Dead3yez replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Turn Manual fire on? Just make sure the crewchief's gun is pointing forward. -
Me too. For sniping it also gives benefits by keeping body movement to a minimum. [edit] At times it will take longer to acquire your target if you're new to it, but eventually you will get used to it.

Comedian Robin Williams plays A1/A2???
Dead3yez replied to manzilla's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I can just imagine the servers filling up now with players named 'Robin Williams'. -
I voted other. Some points are good, some I disagree with. Logic is flawed, BI will receive the same amount of bad reviews/complaints from the same people that care enough about the campaign and to have bought the full version. I'm not entirely sure I'm perceiving this concept correctly, but selling a 'lite' version of the game for less money doesn't really seem like an entirely great market strategy. Why offer a cheaper version when you know that they (us) will buy the more expensive version if they had no choice anyway. OT: 'All those who hate Dragon Rising, remember this: I get to play 2 great games, you only get one.' Don't count your chickens before they hatch. ;)

Not everyone has ArmA1, and there are so many features in ArmA2 (other than grass and graphics in general) that people are interested in. Thanks for feedback :j:

How many times have you found the need to beat someone up in ArmA(2) ? For me, like maybe 1/750 kills.

Sorry, all I could think about when reading this. :D This is something for an addon. It's significance, to me, is just simply too low to bother with. Like mentioned above, I don't see it as something that's going to get used often enough to be that significant. This game is based on modern combat, not the Napoleonic wars etc. I totally agree that it's a good idea, but I can imagine that the feasibility and realism factor for any melee attack implemented into ArmAII would be questionable; I mean, you can't just go around stabbing people in the head or breaking their necks - I imagine it's a hard thing to do.

Steam Version - Failed to contact key server
Dead3yez replied to simjedi's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Key server is down I tihnk. Maintenance or something. - Get same message with FarCry2. -
I did before changing drivers, did nothing for me. BUt sure, it's worth a try if it fixes things for some people!
-
I can confirm that, for me, those drivers, as well as the older CD drivers fix my issue.
-
No problems found yet. But haven't played 1.03 that much yet.

Defrag. softw. Diskeeper 2009 Pro does the trick - removes the stuttering completely
Dead3yez replied to p75's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I noticed a stutter or two, but it it not a common occurance for me, luckily. -
Could try: -cfg=C:\arma2.cfg (contrins resoultion , render resolution etc) same for profile for your arma profile, with other video settings in. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/-profiles No guarantees.

X-fi xtreme gamer FIX. Use older drivers. I am now using driver version 5.12.6.1186, which came on the CD. Running XP also. I know it's not convenient, I tried just about everything before changing the drivers, anyway. I installed older drivers, I no longer get the problems within the game that I was experiencing before. No distorted bush noises and no problems with other sounds. .......so far. edit: 5.12.8.1201 - driver from windows update also works fine.
-
Also found something new, some environmental ambient sounds seemed to be messed up, also when i run through some bushes I get a bad 'static-like' sound.
-
I've got problems with sound too (x-fi xtreme gamer). The problem is mainly with the breathing sound (as i've noticed so far), it crackles a little then as it play's it's extremely loud and annnoying.

Which do you play more? Huge PVP MP battles or small coop missions?
Dead3yez replied to BF2_Trooper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I like to play PvP mostly(at the moment), simply because the big COOP missions seem to have a massive performance issue and are poorly organised. Small coops are also really good though as experienced in ArmA1, have yet to play some in arma2. I'd rather play single player than play Evo or Warfare on a random server. I've had some good times on Domination though before in Arma1.
