If you'd like a response I'd suggest your best chance is to post your report in the RHS Feedback Tracker. The team invest a huge amount of time to produce this content, the least we can do is report issues via their preferred channel and help them expedite fixes as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  2. I was curious about your near objects solution so took a peek. Honestly I wouldn't have credited that sort of trace would be quicker than the native function but it's great you've hit on something better. As a further optimization I would suggest you store the results in a global variable and record the firer's position at the time enumerated and then only update it when they've actually moved (rather than on every shot). EDIT: Hmmm... maybe not. I think I was assuming you were only hooking the player's fired event.
  3. When you Unzip the IronFront_*_CommunityPatch_1.xx-1.xx.exe until the exe has a*blueish icon* (use 7z/winzip/winrar/etc), where does the exe end up? IIRC it needs to be in the A3 game root, not in a folder below it (as some zip utilities might do by default).

That makes a big improvement. Is it possible to move the eye memory point any closer without clipping? That would help make the reticle more usable (and also bring the on-screen size closer to that used for most 2D implementations). Would never say 'no' to potential FPS savings but it's so cool seeing the view through the optic when not sighted (and it'd bit a little jarring seeing the image suddenly 'turn on') I'd sooner see such a thing configured as an option. Plus it might hurt the overall feel of the addition if you then perceive FPS drops when sighting. Script error I get equipping the 3D optics (on the Development branch, no other mods); 8:34:05 Error in expression < rhsusf_fnc_findPlayer); if(inputAction rhs_key_acc_int_glb > 0)then { waitUntil> 8:34:05 Error position: <rhs_key_acc_int_glb > 0)then { waitUntil> 8:34:05 Error Undefined variable in expression: rhs_key_acc_int_glb 8:34:05 File rhsusf\addons\rhsusf_c_weapons\scripts\acc_combo.sqf, line 29 Absolutely love what you've done with this and already consider it totally usable (especially with DOF 0).

The 3D scope prototypes are AMAZING to finally see in ArmA (after all this time) and the performance with them seems fine. Honestly I'll keep using them even if it turns out the reticle can't be made more functional.

Getting good speeds here in New Zealand (pretty much as far as you can get from Germany). Thanks heaps RHS team, really looking forward to exploring.

    3CB BAF Units

Excuse me if I don't hold my breath waiting for that particular prediction to eventuate.

    3CB BAF Units

I've started to write this post a couple of times and then scrapped it because my question seems slightly redundant in that this must surely be on your mind already but (what the hey); have you/are you considering seeking permissions to release a comprehensive, modern day UK faction combining... - Your (3CB) units, aircraft & Jackals - Stalker GB's vests/backpacks/helmets - Kiory's L85s - Burnes' Challenger - Panzyfaust's (or your own ported) Landrovers - Steel's berets - Probably others (i.e. Cleggy's Ridgeback) ...as a standalone package? Seems like the obvious thing to do, something that could stand alongside RHS's RF and US factions.
  9. Sure, I'm not suggesting it's not a good thing to add just that if such a thing is going to be done (and from what you say it ought to be) it should be done as a separate addon that enables it for all vehicles of a class.
  10. Looks great. Aside from being a prodigious talent where 3D modelling is concerned you make pretty cool videos too. Just one niggle (a pet peeve of mine), I won't go on and on about it (experience has taught me it's usually futile) but; Automatic Rearming at Ammo Trucks is a gameplay modification that should be applied to all vehicles (or all tanks, all planes, whatever) or none at all, not one-off classes. By all means, if such a function is desirable (I have no particular opinion) then create an addon that enables it across the board but just doing it for specific vehicles creates inconsistent behaviours and affects game balance, particularly for P-v-P.

It's not new that's just the PWS version number for the current (already released) beta.

    Recoil Overhaul Feedback

You're not firing from the hip, weapon is shouldered, just not sighted (pretty evident from the 3rd person view).

    Weapon Resting & Deployment Feedback

If for whatever reason they're not prepared to do the extra calculation required to make side-resting only useful when it really ought to be I'd be in favour of removing it altogether (vs leaving it as-is).

I agree with Coulum and the above is all that would be required to fix it but I think anything beyond 15° should require 're-resting'.

Can't see that happening for a 3D implementation, aside from the size of the PiP surface required, the non-PIP viewpoint wouldn't be able to follow the orientation of the weapon. I'm also inclined to agree with Misty, if one scene has to be compromised I'm inclined to think it's less-jarring for it to be the (smaller) view inside the scope which one might more readily expect to have a less-than-entirely-natural quality having passed through the optics. Hopefully, one way or another, we might have both options.

    Show Off The RV4 Engine!

Alright, I'll be that guy; surely these ought to be posted in http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147389-Arma-3-Photography-No-images-over-100kb-Pictures-only-NO-comments!

They're fundamentally different (one's 2D, one's 3D), it's hard to see how they could borrow from each other. Personally I much prefer where Reyhard's is going (assuming the kinks can be ironed out). But it's probably possible to config an AGM style PiP scope for the RHS optics without model sources (i.e. post release) if AGM users prefer.

    Weapon Resting & Deployment Feedback

    Animation doesn't need to be a full blown whole skeleton thing or require interaction with the geometry. As I understand it a gesture can be overlaid on any stance and could be as simple as briefly relaxing and then restoring the grip of the off-hand. Example of gestures (though larger than would be required here) by way of illustration;
  19. What I'm saying is snide little axe-grinding off-topic asides almost always lead to responses. I think it's manifestly clear somebody made a good call in removing the post from the original thread.
  20. And yet here we are, three pages of bullshit that has no place in either of the development threads it was likely culled from.
  21. I think 'clans' (<- insert your preferred terminology) could step up a lot more when it comes to supporting modders with donations. As an individual a couple of things often tend to dissuade me from donating; 1. What's an appropriate donation? If a modder makes a (single) weapon I like is that worth contributing US$5 for? That's like 8% of the retail value of the entire game, so generally I think 'no'. And if it's not worth that much is it even worth making a paltry gesture of one or two dollars (less fees)? 2. Will I actually get to use it when I'm playing online? I can appreciate something as being beautiful and well-made and requiring a lot of effort and craft but if I only get to mess around with it in the editor is it worth actual money to me? Clans, who likely already collect monies for server rental, are uniquely placed to obviate these issues. 1. A clan of 20 players can make a meaningful contribution of $20-$40 (being effectively $1-$2 from each member). 2. A clan can adopt an add-on as part of its standard modset and members know that they're going to be able to use it most gaming sessions. How about modders start offering donors (above a certain level) the opportunity to have their squad logo displayed in the modder's signature or in the OP of the addon's release thread? Clans get publicity and recognition for supporting content makers and anyone who likes the mod and wants to play online with it can immediately see who they should consider playing with in order to do so.
  22. I disagree. Any time you post you're inviting a response to your post, if your post is off-topic those responses are going to turn the thread off-topic. Better such diversions run their course in their own thread. The moral of course is to post on-topic.
  23. If I buy a car I'd be pretty pissed if the dealer or manufacturer took it upon themselves to cease or limit the use of that car because they didn't happen to like the way I drive. It's not BIS' place to police the use of the game or implement 'expected play' policies globally, leave that to the proper authorities (i.e. server-ops).
  24. The title may not have been yours but it's a pretty accurate appraisal of your post. I've not used those mods, native implementations which are available in every game on every multi-player server are a vastly better option.
