I don't know if it's an idea that's already been posted here, this topic is so huge...
And it may be a little too late for developping this kind of feature, but however...
It's as simple as that :
in the game, our unit's face, arm & hands are cutomisable, that's one good thing to recognize each of our team mates in game.
But it's not enough, we need more features like this, that can help us to easely and rapidely know which of our comrade's ass your covering.
It may be the possibily to display proper custom images over other part of the unit's body & gear, like the backpack, the sides of the helmet (remember markups on WW2 US soldier's helmets), etc...
This feature could be set the same way we set our face in the game, by uploading low res. images.
It would obviousely overlay the unit's texture so that any kind of unofficials addons units would be supported (maybe the hardest part )
It should be very useful for quick reaction in combat : the leader would know immediately who he's giving orders, and mates should be more able to stick to their formations.
