Cant agree with you here deevius. I`v had the same problem straight out of the 1.04 box. And no change in 1.05 or 1.05+beta (or whatever its called).

Hi! I never used the mision editor in OFP so in that department I`m kinda stupid. Now with Arma I`d like to try this great option but i cant for my life understand how to do the most simple of operations. What i would like to have explained by some mercifull soul, is how to get my playable squad of soldiers to climb in to a AH60 wich then would take of and go to a specifik spot. Meaning that I run to the chopper with my men, and when we are loaded (and believe you me, thats what I will be soon if this doesnt work  ) the chopper should take of to another island. Sry for ranting but I´m annoyed with my self for not understanding this Â

I have installed/played the Beta-patch but the only thing I´m having a problem with, the graphical issues (spikes etc.) is still there. Plz correct me if I have missed something somewhere but is this a bug or not? Both ATI and NVIDIA users are experiencing this "artifacts" so driver- or hardware issues?? Not sure! Ohh how i long for just a flying tank, men not doing what I tell them to do or whatever ordinarie bug instead of ALT-TABBING every 5 minutes to actually see something. But hey, thats just ME. And yes, I to praise that BI are trying to fix so many bugs and yes i understand that beeing a small company is hard, and yes i understand that publishers put pressure to get the game out, and that nobody forces me to buy it etc. A way of topic but so are several others.

I have to step up a bit for Mr Reality here. What i understand he is saying, is that shouldnt most of these bugs have been fixed BEFORE the game was released (correct me if I misunderstood Mr Reality) so we could all be enjoying PLAYING the game today (several month after the initiall release) as it should/could be played not searching and reporting for bugs. And the constant "nobody forced you to buy the game" has to become an altime high regarding stupid remarks. Yes, nobody forced me, but noone told me that I wasn´t gonna be able to play it either. So just drop that.

thanks for the fast reply there! So if I`m having an X800 Pro then i can turn this of then?

Wait for the chopper to spool up and take off before telling your men to board it and it should work... Rick Hi Rick! Thanks for that, but how can i make it so "my" boys jump in, THEN the chopper takes of? -

Armavidz: I can agree on the somewhat thin manual. Boy did I like the original manual for Shogun: total war. Talk about a bible . More like a book than a manual. Ahh, those where the days...... -
And what does this "catalyst A.I" do?

Hi there Armavidz! Well I did look through Wiki and Arma manual but i think that for a total beginner theyre not right. But thanks for your link, I will start editing as soon as my son goes to bed   and lets see how I manage. I do have some ideas (hollywood style) as to what I would like the mission to be about but i fell short at the starting line I tried the above (by Rick) but the chopper takes of immediately and leaves me with a very long face (and some tired men after having to walk). Missed something probably. By the way, for me non-english, whats "RTMF" and "WTH"? I closing in at 40 years old so I`m a bit outdated on the chargongs sometimes (aswell as spelling to) And as an ATI user, I just love your avatar! Hilarious! Many regards to you all for the help. Keep it coming for us old folks  -
Dont really agree with you here! http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=55868 This problems are reported by both ATI and NVIDIA (I have the exact same prob.) users and are most likely some sort of gamebug. Or how else can people with SO different computers have the exact same problem? Beats me unless its a gamesbug. And its not a "overheated" card issue either (tried cooling mine with electronic freezespray). Win XP ATI X800 PRO, 256 Mb ram 1Gb dual channel ram Psu 450w etc.

Me again To make another dumb question, how does the editor now for whom the waypoint is for? Am I to first leftklick on the unit that i want to set a waypoint for (it seems like that atleast) and if so, why are they not marked (highlighted) so i know I have choosen the right group? Edit: i just saw your part about "getting darker green" Rick. Sry for not beeing awake. -

Hi again! Many thanks Rick and Kronzky for that. Rick: That explained a lot that i hadn`t understood. Kronsky: Mr Murrays guide is probably good, but that is more than i can say for my German Down side: Now my girlfriend will most likely see less of me than before  -
Having the same problem myself. Is this a known bug to BI? I made a different route. I skipped the strykers and went left, killed everyone in the camp (left my men behind for coveringfire) and proceeded to take out the Shilkas by myself. Then the choppers came in AND some tanks form the "stryker direction". Everyone got killed in town, including the enemy. Me and "my" squad didnt take a hit. And then nothing! I serched the map (tanky you BI for 4*time) and found 3 M1A1 just sitting at the far end of the map from the direction I came from. Bloody annoying this APART from the hideous graphic bugs (alt-tabbing every 5 minutes). Will try that cheat but it feels really rotten having to cheat to get on.

And yes, i have read the manual, the wikipedia instructions and others to. Anyone? -
Mines childish with this topic and these forums with statements like that. There are also many with same systems and some are having the problem and others not. BTW I started playing Arma using a X800 video card like the ones within the post you linked to.I did not have problems like that.So all users are not having same problems. XP should have universal drivers so that you can write a program and it should work on all systems the same like a console would I agree with you on that there are "over the top statesments" from both sides. Absolutely. And as you say, many are NOT having problems, but then again, MANY have paid good money for a game they cant play (more or less). And regardless of wheter it is a hardware or game fault, the problems do occur for many and then having people coming in and saying something like " nobody forced you to buy it" or "like it or leave" makes atleast me angry. Try to put yourself in our shoes. We have all been waiting with saliva drooling for this game to come out, after the incredible OFP, and when it finally arrives, we cant freakin play it because of the graphic-issues that i linked to. I think, as i have said elsewhere, that we ALL have to step down a notch or two. Both us who cant play and you "fanboys" (just couldnt find a better word, not meaning to be smart) who think that BI cant do anything wrong.
-
This has to be some of the most flaming, childish nonsense I have read here. Incredible! And why is so many praising the graphics?? Yes, they are nice, but absolutely nothing extraordinarie (spelling?) compared to many other games that DON`T have problems. I havent noticed any bigger bugs (simply because i cant see the game because of the graphical issues) but i would have loved it if the only problems where "flying tanks" etc. insted of this. And IF it is driver/hardware related, why are both ATI users and NVIDIA users with totally different machines experiencing the EXACT same problem. But I guess someone has the answer to that, because it just can´t be the game, now can it!? This is what I`m talking about: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=55868 And the problem has been there out of the (1.04) box and still appears with 1.05+.
-
I have to totally agree on this. Would somehow leave a sour aftertaste to the game, and I dont think it would make the "games are dangerous" debate any easier with shot kids in it. Because That would happen. But Angelina Jolie.... THAT is another story
-
Well I`d rather run into a sheep than a 7.62mm. But I might be a bit of a chicken
-
At least BIS say it`s an Beta. EA and others would have said, look here is the new patch, without telling it`s an Beta. My Arma installation runs without crashes and texture bugs. Exactly, remember this is a BETA, and it comes with a warning to, so its a little to early to beeing that dissapointed. Better then to report the bugs that are still there.

Maybe some of us belives that a product IS finalized when it is released!? And what do YOU consider to be the the "final release"?? Version 1.07? 1.15? 4.67? What?? How would anyone know when to buy anything with that kind of argument? Kind of stupid remarks in my eyes.

Thick-skulled as I am, how do I check my handlingcount?
