Hi! Thats strange, because I´v had them straight out of the 1.04 box, and they were there with 1.05 and the same now with 1.08. But as I said elsewhere, I have started to notice them when fighting inside cities in Medieval 2. Ohhh, if this could be sorted out, this is my only negative point to Arma. I would "kill" for only having a few bugs with tanks flying, men that doesnt walk over bridges or whatnot

I was merely using you as an example. Many of your posts are out of line and you have the warning level to prove it. Calling someone a "fanboi" is a deliberate provocation and it got I&C six months PR if I recall correctly. If you can't see the difference between a "fun comment" and a flame bait, then it should be your problem and not everyone else's. If BI released a patch that removes copy protection, Atari, 505 and the others would drop them like a hot potatoe and sue them like there's no tomorrow. first of, to me its as "flamebating" telling people with problems that they should like it or leave as what you think is flamebating. Calling someone "fanboy" or a "whining whatnot" has the same purpouse. And If I´m not entirely missinformed, its the MODERATORS job to keep things calm and civil, not yours, and not mine. And secondly, I was refeering to the above post about "shite-posts", if that went unnoticed by you  I dont think that BI will come out and defend 1.08 but are more likely in the need of feedback to whats wrong. Personally, i havent seen any difference to 1.04, but that is simply because I cant see anything with the graphical artifacts that I suffer from. And that issue I havn`t seen any solution to, driver, hardware or gameengine, I have no clue. Edit: And of course the quote i should have used is on page 2.

So its just a "try and see what happens" thing then!? I read somewhere that Arma is streaming the textures directly from the harddrive. Does that have something to do with the graphical problems? And how do other games do it?

Not sure if you mean me or someone else. since I´m one of the non-english speaking players its not easy to keep up with all the "shorts". But i DO believe that there are as many "shite-posts" from both the happy ones, as well as the unhappy ones.

Have you tried the "-maxmem=512" line in your shortcuts target bar?  Also been looking at some of the complaints and they are very silly.  Really think some people are expecting way too much on a small developer that has made a game much bigger then any game i have ever played.  My advice to anyone moaning about this is just leave the community and play something else  I have absolutely no idea how to do that "maxmem" thing. And I feel somewhat reluctant to have to do things like fiddling with stuff that shouldnt really be necesseary to fiddle with in the first place :-) . But plz tell me what to do and I will try it. I really like the game, atleast the small parts that I´m able to play. Does anyone know why "alt-tabbing" makes the problem go away for some time? I can take bugs in the game (like soldiers having trouble walking over a bridge etc.) but this graphical issues are not something that should occur in a released game. Atleast it should have been noticed since so many are experiencing it. But that is my thoughts of course.

Me to had this problem. The only way around it for me was to totally remove ARMA and reinstall it again. I downloaded patches 1.05 and 1.08 from gamershell and then it installed without ANY problems.

I think its driver related because lately i have had the same artifacts in Medieval 2 (but very little). I also think i remember this problem with OFP for a short while before i updated the drivers back then. We had a person from ATI (under the name crossfire) here a while ago and i mailed him about this problem. He would look into it but i haven heard anything since. P4 2.8c ATI X800pro Audigy 2 1gb ram etc.

In order for me to be able to apply the 1.08 patch i had to remove all of Arma from my computer, reinstall it fresh from the disc, downloaded 1.05 and 1.08 from gamershell and voila! It works. Havent been able to play much (time-issue) but hey, it started (without my savegames that is) ! Dont know if it will help anyone but there you are.

What bugs are preventing you from playing? There is a troubleshooting section for people having problems. If you are just posing "ArmA sucks" type comments instead of actually trying to get your problem sorted out, then how can it be anything but crap? What use do you think a post like this is: It's just an attempt to insult people, it doesn't do any good. If you would rather insult people than actually try get your problem sorted, well that says a lot about you! Edit: W0lle, I only saw your post after I posted this by the way, so I'll stop posting here now. Well it says what I`m (and obviously so many others) dissapointed with. Patch 1.08 doesnt even apply etc. And I have every rigth to reflect on what comes up in these forums. And the graphical issues that is HINDERING me to play (´cos I cant see anything) are nowhere to be solved, so dont go there when you dont know. THAT is flaming. And what makes your "people with gameproblems suck" any better then what you accuse me of? Maybe because those of us who enjoy the game would rather play it than post useless crap in forums The unhappy people and attention seekers are always more vocal. Well how nice then that you are playing it instead of beeing here flaming us who cant. And with what right do you say that ALL uf us who cant play because of various bugs etc. are posting "crap"? Hmmm. "arma is just awesome" has 5 pages, and "arma is dissapointing" has 20 pages. Says alot of what the state of the game is. And now 1.08! The problem-thread for that has also past 20+ pages. And what; some 1000mB of pathes!! Thas a hole game for some. Not good.

I`m about to throw this game out for good soon if things dont get better.

I`v used freezing spray to cool down my card (X800Pro) to rule out overheating, and it made absolutely nothing whatsoever cooling it down so its either drivers and or Arma itself in my opinion.
