Would only prove my point wouldn't it. Have fun living in fear. You're all a bunch of slaves.

Oooh, I'm shivering with fear from getting a "WL+1" (whatever the hell that is) from the internet police. STFU you spineless toadie.
-
Well, they are Czechoslovakian. They wouldn't know how to react to freedom if it bit them squwa' in the ass. "One this; one that!" "Your papers are not in order!" Man, what a crock. It's the INTERNET dumb-asses, extra topics are a GOOD thing, it attracts people with it's open nature! Idiots. P.S. Disregard all these boot-lickers.

I don't know if I agree with your analogy but I think that you do have a good point in-so-far as to what many long-time OFP-vets (that I don't know personally) are concerned about regarding their expectations/observations. (i.e. What ArmA was going to be versus what they have on their hard-drives currently). I glean that the issue at-hand is more than just too much of "more of the same, plus this and that" and more likely a case of: "more of the same, and where is this and that?" My main gripe with the game is that my personal definition of what would constitute "OFP 1.5" was quite a bit beefier, to borrow a theme, than what was served up. I'd also like to thank you for your genteel reply; it's refreshing and most welcome. Also/And to borrow your theme again, I would like to say that I feel more like I have been eating custom butchered steak for 5 years, and now I am being served steak again indeed: only this time it's from Outback Steakhouse; not an improvement...and a bore to sit through. P.S. The moment that I noticed that there were no "steer-able" parachutes; I smelled something rotten in Denmark. ArmA should have included--at the very least--some of the basic functionality of most of the long-used OFP add-ons from the community. (BIS should be quite aware of what these are: BAS everything, Steer-able Chute, Ejection Seats, "Custom Weapons Selection in every mode of game play", "Wider fields of night vision to make up for the lack of peripheral vision inherent in all video games"). I mean, the code was right there, all they had to do was cut and paste (EX: Perhaps give some kid in Russia a couple of hundred bucks for the intellectual property rights. Easily within their scope and grasp). Eh, I digress. I'll shut-up now.

Agreed: bottom line, they took too long. Just like Nam. (i.e. "They cost too much and didn't produce"; to quote a movie [uncommon Valor]) I'm just waiting on Game 2 now. Then again, what do I know, I'm just a consumer and I'm not ever right...here. (Yeah, it's irony) It's hard to be the smartest, yet least driven, guy in the room. Don't feel too bad; It's the way of things. History always bears our kind out. Then all these zealots are suspiciously quiet. Funny.

This dude had me kackling with laughter. ArmA REVIEW

If you're not "LOL-ing" then you've missed the whole point of the post. There was a disclaimer even. You guys who are acting like this post was some sort of question have lost the plot. This post was ment to be nothing more than a belly laugh for those who have that capability. (i.e. It wasn't asking, it was TELLING) If you don't like it...can it...this post was not for you. I'm amazed at how some of you guys will try to turn ANYTHING into a fight. Damn, I'm sorry I posted (reposted, whatever) it now. btw, for those who don't know--and have even failed to recognise after being told by many here after-the-fact--that whole site is just a COMEDY site. More than likely the reviewer has never even seen the damn game for cryin' out loud. I didn't think it took much of an I.Q. to realize that but I stand corrected. "Take me now lord!"

Unclench man. There is just no pleasing some people I guess. It's not like you weren't warned. I thought it was funny myself. Different strokes...

Well if that isn't the biggest "slap in the face." You move our complaint about mega-threads to one. That's fine, I'll just make sure to hit ya in the pocketbook. BIS isn't going to be around much longer at this rate.
-
I never understood the reasoning behind using only one thread for topics. It's silly. I've heard people say "to conserve bandwidth" but that is rediculious. You can make a gazillion threads and the internet is not going to crash. It might cost BIS some money, depending upon how the ISP they use bills for bandwidth but that is their problem. This is a customer service/public relations tool. It's the cost of doing business. I think they know that, so none of the above can be it. Maybe it has something to do with the moderators expecting us to make their job easier at the expense of our ease of use? If that's the case then BIS might be pissed off at the amount of potential customers their mods are liberating them of with this obtuse one thread crap. It makes no sense I tell you. It's illogical to make your customers put up with this kind of hassle. It's stupid. I know the attitude here has caused several of my friends not to "hassle" with dealing with ArmA. Way to go Mods/BIS. Really customer friendly.

I have been discussing re-working the South Sahrani Army Regulars into a fashion more closely resembling the sketch below. I know that many of the community members don't make it down the forum to the MOD DISCUSSION section, so I was hoping to get some more feedback by posting this poll in the GENERAL DISCUSSION section. If you would like to know why these options were selected then please see the discussion on this topic in the MOD DISCUSSION section entitled "Logical South Sahrani Kit." I would encourage all of you to only answer "Yes" or "No" to this idea in this thread. Thank You for your feedback.

As mentioned earlier in a previous thread, the kneepads that the S.Sahrani wear are the cheap, soft, soccer/football type--dyed to O.D. Green. They are probably self-provided at that, so not every soldier would have them. The training arm of the former "School of the Americas" provides training. They may have come from British roots but they have been under the sway of America for the last 50+ years. Only ceremonial ties to the U.K. exist at this point in time I would imagine. All practical doctrine and financial support would be provided by the U.S.

No progress yet. O2 hasn't been released yet.

You are ok with your nephew simulating combat and repatively engaging in the simulated killing of other human beings but you're worried that he will wonder what a "fag" is? Are you "SHITTING" me? You really think that kids don't cuss? Give me a break. They can pull up some asian-lady-boy porn at the click of a button on the internet but you're not going to buy a violent video game because of foul language? You're fucked up man. If you are afraid of bad language that kids use amongst themselves already but hold that in more horror than simulated murder then you need a shrink buddy. I'll grow up if you'll "GET REAL."

I am not an add-on maker but I do have a request that I would like to humbly submit to those of you that might be interested. ArmA takes place in what for all intensive purposes is a 3rd world country. Most 3rd world countries that have organized militaries use primarily surplus equipment, especially for their regular troops. I personally think that the South Sahrani troops are too well equipped and would love to see a new version of them: 1.) wearing more appropriate camouflage, (the 6-color desert seems out of place in a country that is 2/3rds lush) 2.) Steel Pot helmets, (even in the country of Mexico they still issue steel-pots instead of Kevlar, with parade dress being the exception; they use fake Kevlar shells during parades, etc.) 3.) and outdated body-armor or none at all (I seriously doubt that they would be able to afford interceptor body armor for all of their troops. Surplus German II-A flak-jackets with a modified cover seems more appropriate to their economic situation and tropical location) Please let me know what you think if you are interested. I would love to hear some logistical ideas about what they might look like.

Are you drunk? Don't be embarrassed M8, you're among friends here.

A few...and then some common farm animals would be more to your liking I'm sure. I think you have taken on more than your share of "scabby strays" in your lifetime Col. Faulkner; it's best really, to disable them in your version of ArmA I think.

Or perhaps they have, and know that a bollocksed-up cross between a French foreign legionnaire, American footballer and Imperial Stormtrooper is well wide of the mark? I would have expected better here. Today's Lesson is: Let’s do a checklist! - Regime is a Monarchy backed by the United States. = YES - Britain hasn't had as much influence upon them as the Americans have for what is most likely 50+ years. = VERY PROBABLE - Monarchs and Despots usually treat their Royal Guards like personal toy soldiers and dress them according to a combination of national heritage combined with their personal whims. = YES - A little "off the beaten path" imagination is a welcome change to strict adherence to the precise military reality that most mods create, and yet it should not go completely overboard as to not totally destroy "suspension of disbelief." = YES - Free M16A4's are cheaper and more practical than maintaining FN-FAL's, especially when the US is your next door neighbor. = YES - Interceptor Body Armor has large shoulder coverings. = YES - American "Footballers" kick Limey "Soccer" fruits ass all day long; all day and all night and all year: America, FUCK YEAH! = WITHOUT A DOUBT As you cans see, the scientific calculations show that all those who don't like this uniform are unimaginative, limey soccer fruits, so it's probably best to try and roll in the uniforms awesomeness less ye become Oliver Twist. Todays lesson has been brought to you by the letters "I" and "PISS EXCELLENCE!" See ya real soon!
