Yes, I believe the limit could be raised.
Perhaps to 300kB?
You get pictures with high resolution with reasonable compression.
-
Yeah, but the lack of any in game materials is kinda disappointing

-
Nah, I think they will keep Russians for the end

I think it's gonna be one of the local factions, possibly the pro-eastern rebels.
-
Russian would be my guess.
EDIT: Whoops, too late

Translation would be great Raphi, thanks

-
Looks like mine is the slimmest so far

Only 7.73 GB.
Yeah, been cleaning out a little

-
I think quite a few people use 1680x1050 nowadays

-
Well, idling armed soldiers do have animations.
They check their weapon, stretch their legs, arms and neck.
I wouldn't mind seeing such for unarmed NPCs as well

-
From what I've read the game is going to be even bigger arcade then the previous ones.
Apparently the classes were brought down to 3 and every single one has the means to take down a tank, 24 players limit cap, 3 maps, the good old autohealing and unlimited ammo.
-
There was no date set for the release yet

-
Could be independent just as RACS are right now - you can set who they're friendly with in the editor.
-
You can't possibly expect to have a patch that would completely change the engine, which is what is required in order to get mutli-core support

-
I'd love working mirrors

-
Wipman, for the love of my eyes, use some paragraphs - your posts are pain to read!

Back to BF2.. The maps are too large because you travel 5 minutes to an enemy flag. Then a friendly captures it. Then you move to another flag. It is also captured, but the previous flag has been captured by the enemy again.. I hope this doesn't happen in warfare..Two words, one URL:
Project Reality: realitymod.com

Well, the way GTA4 runs on PCs is mostly caused by poor conversion

...but so weren't karate move animations in ArmA... Still they are in.There is just one karate animation and I'm sure it's more of a mo-cap test than an animation intended for serious use.
Having some hand-to-hand animations would require far more then one animation.
"Why can't I punch while kneeing???"
"Why does it takes so long to get up from prone while trying to punch???"
"Why there's just one punch???"
"Why can't I kick???"
"Why can't I punch while running???"
"Why can't I do a slide-kick???"
and so on and on...

IMO they won't, but as long as they don't touch my PC version I couldn't care less

I had problems with bushes as well, but that was with my old FX5700.
The part about scripts I mentioned is important as well.
Usually missions with lot of AI also have lots of scripts.
I had a CPU graph running in the background and every time my FPS dropped down the graph was topped at 25%.
If ArmA uses only 1 core and I have 4 you can do the math

-
Multi-core support is confirmed.
-
Well, the whole rendering is based on DirectX ever since the Poseidon I believe.
Changing to OpenGL would mean rewriting it all and I in no way dare to blame BI for not wanting to do so.
DirectX 10 is useless.
I'm sure BI is not crazy enough to say "bug off" to everyone who doesn't have Vista and/or GPU support for DX10.
Therefore there would still need to be the backwards support for DX9.
And because DX10 doesn't bring that much innovations the trouble is far from worth it.
DX10 simply has no future, especially not with Windows 7 (which is what Vista always should have been IMO) behind the corner with its DirectX 11.
-
Only if hardware and operating systems weren't so bloody expensive...
If only ArmA ran on OpenGL, because then you wouldn't have to worry about the second part

-
I agree with ofpforum - try to play a mission with lots of units and scripts.
From my own experience I can tell you that your FPS will go down badly.
My FPS can drop down to 20 with a HD4870 and Q6600 @3GHz.
If I go to the same exact spot in the editor it's 60+
-
The more frames per second your recorded video has the bigger performance impact while recording.
Also set the resolution to Half-size in Frap's options.
BTW: F-keys are bitches, I had it on my old keyboard.
Couldn't even install windows because F8 to agree wasn't working.
So much headache for such a small button

Vista and ArmA 2

The typical solution is to run the game windowed
But yeah, I believe ArmA2 will run better on Vista then 1.
After all Vista wasn't even out at the time the game was released.
