    Ww1 minimod

I am waiting for a kind of deploy script for LMG's. A 0.303 round is a full power round. Strange to see it fired standing up. And can somebody restrict the field of fired when deployed. Does weight of a weapon count in OFP? You can add mass in O2 but I don't know whether this really affects the fatigue of the soldier. When you look throught the sights of the Lewis machinegun what sights are you seeing in fact? Which gun?
  2. I am impressed by the bunkers. How big or small were the entry doors in the model 36 bunkers. In the Netherlands we had the S-3 type bunkers for a heavy Schwarzlose machine gun. The are similar to the model 36 with 3 (?) schietgaten (Scharten in german). It took some gymnastics to get in through a hole of 70 by 70 cm.

I can save TGA and open TGA and then save PAC/PAA with Texview2. So what program did you use in between to alter the TGA file. Has this program some options that mess up the TGA?

To JdB and Bennie. The Italian part of Invasion44 built a Boehler 4,7 cm AT-gun for the desert mod (Canone da 47 35?). It was shown on their website before they joined Invasion44. Do you know who made this gun? It was the most common AT-gun in the Dutch army. The other ones were a few 3,7 cm PAK 36 and antique 5,7 cm Krupp field guns from 1896 without recoil or traverse movement.

    Mortars

Lib 41-45's AI observer lays down a quite murderous mortar barrage. Though, on the other hand he is out of ammo quick because he does not wait long enough between the salvo's. And switching between targets should be slower when you have no tables for preplanned firing missions. I would be happy with virtual artillery support from the standard Chain of Command. If they would add an AI observer even more so.

Thanks. What is the name of the script and in which directory? edit Found it. Trying to get it to work in my bunker.

The Maxim machinegun for bunkers is automatically placed inside. How does this work? Built into OFP? Or a script from Lib 41-45? I looked into the pbo's and found that there are some AT-gun bunkers. Can an AT-gun gun be placed in the bunker in the same manner?

I remember that the Bohler 4,7 cm PAG anti-tank gun was in the Invasion 44 / Desert mod on the Italian side. They built the Austrian designed gun under license in Italy. Bennie. Is there a space where I can put my (far from ready) Island up for a select group with some notes and pictures?

I never made a script. So I need an example script to start from. You are pointing to a single function in OFP to keep it simple. But that is not yet a script. As far as I understand this function will add a magazine to the ammo supply of the vehicle (soldier, tank). It is a point to start my search from. Thanks for the suggestion to keep it simple. Off to OFPEC. By the way BDFY: How about a message runner script. With a poor soul ducking the bullets on his way to the nearest point in a communication network (radio or field telephone). And a communication network script. And ... Just joking about some expanding thoughts I had. Also called fantasy. I should try it myself first.

Great. Would be nice to have some camouflage on the sand heaps. I saw some camo nets in the russian forum a long time ago. How do you place the guns at the right spot in the trench. Do you place the trench at a position with a script and then the gun at the same position with the same script? I was asking myself how to resupply a HMG34 with ammo? I put them in standoff positions (400 to 600 meters from the targets) to cover the advance of assault squads. But they run out of ammo fast. The HMG34 seems to act like some kind of tank in the class system. Or is it separate? Is there any script to send 1 or 2 ammo bearers to the ammo crate in the rear? And why not use 250 round boxes instead of 75 round drum magazines. Those drums are for assault squads? The HMG is not going anywhere.

That was why I wanted to have a look at the current situation of the weapons pack. But I think the Lowlands Mod has the experience to make weapons. I don't. I suppose you have the sources like "Nederlandse vuurwapens, 1895-1940, Landmacht en luchtvaartafdeling" by de Vries and Martens. Anybody with pictures of farmhouses, sheds, haystacks and houses in de Gelderse Vallei en Utrechtse Heuvelrug. And dimensions of those objects. And sources for textures. As I am totally green to the textures part.

The main difference between the Austrian and Dutch rifles? Austrian rifles had various kinds of straight pull bolts. One type (the 1895) had a bolt with a rotating bolt head. The shooter only had to pull the bolt back. The bolt head was the only thing that rotated, through grooves. There has been an experimental carbine with the same system from 1890. Dutch rifles had a rotating bolt of the Mauser type. The shooter had to rotate the bolt up and then pull it back. The evaluation commission called it the rifle with the German type of bolt. The Mannlicher name comes from the system devised by Mannlicher the clips holding 5 cartridges. Some carbines: http://www.collectiblefirearms.com/RiflesM....r-Dutch The helmet doesn't look right yet. You know this site? http://www.xs4all.nl/~gastein/index.htm Love to see more. Got some books on the weapons.

Ok you are right. The dutch mortars at the Grebbeberg (the hill) were in pits behind the second line shooting over a wheatfield in a wooded area. The germans were using heavier artillery from (behind) the opposing hill. I only know of one german battery being caught in the open field to close to the dutch lines. The other incidents were with direct firing 3,7 cm PAK being destroyed.

    Liberation 1941-1945: Patch 1.08

First things first: thank you for this mod. I like it a lot. I can not really find out what is wrong, but the movable regimental gun seems the cause of a crash in OFP. Has anyone had the same experience. You mentioned a (normal) regimental gun in the announcement. I can not find it. The two types of movable regimental guns are easy to find. Maybe I am missing the obvious. I would like to try the artillery script for the regimental guns against the german mortars I have in my mission. My Maxims repulse the first wave of german attackers, but then the german mortars zero in on the defenders. Very deadly mortar strikes. I am standing on the hill and can see the puffs of smoke from the mortars at 2 kilometers. Damn, I can plot them on the map. Counter battery fire please. Greetings.

Invasion of Europe: Part 1   RELEASED!

take the bridge at Dordrecht I first thought you were joking about Dordrecht. But actually it is sensible when you look at the site of Dordt open stad: http://www.dordtopenstad.nl/ Lets not forget its parent site: http://www.grebbeberg.nl/ Groeten, Bob
  18. JdB High poly models are used to generate normal maps, so that the low poly version will look 90% identical like the high poly version, but without the insane polycount Is that the process they call texture baking? Make a high poly model, render it and apply the resulting texture to a low poly model. Applied in some cockpits in Il-2 for example the Polikarpov I-185 fighterprototype. Tasi The model 7/24 is a Schwarzloze? Interested because I experimented with bunkers the dutch model 08/15 was being built into in the Netherlands. Also interested in the model and code for the bunkers.

Invasion of Europe: Part 1   RELEASED!

Just hopped into a mission I built and got blown up by the 81 mm Granatwerfer. Intense fire. No binoculars for my French mortar team was a disadvantage. I will smuggle some in via the modern OFP army. I believe the Dutch army bought the french 81 mm Brand model 27 and had some built under license. Thank you.

    DEM to WrpTool trouble

I had the same troubles with Wilbur as well. I made certain that I chose lat/lon txt output and just deleted ..png and typed .txt instead. The file I just made from a greyscale bmp-image was exported by Wilbur as txt. WrpTool had no complaints. Just checking. The greyscale image was made in Microdem. I converted a 90 meter DEM to a 50 meter UTM file. Made a correction to the height range in Wilbur (scale x 0.4, minus 30 meter). Have made a very raw terrain of 6.4 km by 6.4 km. Not many objects on it yet.
