I like those Strike Eagle shots, Wilco. For the record, Steve Davies has written three excellent books about the F-15E. (We now return you to your regularly scheduled military photos thread)

It felt kind of indifferent when I read it. A lot of talk about the how but not much of the why. Also, I generally dislike war stories that are written in the first-person. I find that it limits the scope of the story (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), and gives the author too many opportunities for overdone bravado.

I voted no. Certainly, mines are nasty, but I trust professional western armies with their usage. Future (devastating) usage of land mines will be by third world armies (quite possibly) serving tin-pot dictatorships. Why would they care about civilian casualties or international condemnation?

Flight of the Old Dog: And an off-topic one, for the ladies. Â

Nice, are those the lamp posts in petrovic emitting that yellow light? EDIT: typo Thanks. The yellow light was the result of Paint Shop Pro's illumination effects.

I'd recommend Harold Coyle's God's Children, a fictional tale of US peacekeepers coming under fire in civil war-torn Slovakia. I think it would be an excellent basis for an OFP campaign. Also, Eric L. Harry's Arc Light, which I tracked down after Hellfish mentioned it.

US/Japanese excercises, central Nogova. (With apologies to the residents of Petrovice)

"Charlie don't surf!" (Incidentally, that's one of my favorite Clash songs.)

Just ask this guy... Anyhow, I'd give anything to have a high quality version of the Macintosh/1984 ad. I suppose I'm sort of a Ridley Scott fanboy.

Excellent! I'm nowhere near finishing it, but I'm sure I'll spend the rest of the day trying to... My History teacher was a paratrooper, I'm sure he'll understand. Also, I dig the music during the rearm/refuel sequences.

Just kicking around some ideas... -- Awesome shots, Hjaldar

Oh, man. The memories. Nothing like laying waste to VC tax collectors with a Stoner M-63, then calling in a Bronco air strike - Â just to be sure. And there was this one campaign mission where you had to take out an NVA officer, then the next mission you assaulted his funeral, bagging some valuble intel in the process. I remember I would always call for emergency extraction because I was too lazy to walk to the LZ. I know that it's available from a certain popular "abandonware" website, but I'm not sure whether saying more is against the forum rules or not.

Any rules regarding editting (etc)?

Why am do I suddenly have Loverboy's "Everybody's Working for the Weekend" stuck in my head? *shakes fist at Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson* On-topic: Cool. I dig civillian addons. Umm... no pun intended.

I liked the way that Vietcong, Rogue Spear and Hitman: Codename 47 handled climbing over objects. I think that would work as a great substitute to prevent bunny hopping. (Yes, Vietcong still had CS-style jumping.)

Operation northstar down maybe for good

Good luck and god-speed, ONS. I suppose if worst came to worst, you could always establish a Paypal donation link. A virtual tip jar, if you will. (Hey, it kept Penny Arcade afloat) -
Nice shots, Harnu. Wish it snowed here. My girlfriend took and edited this one of me. It was early and I was hungover at the time. I took this one. Both of them are vain attempts to be artistic solely for the sake of it. Â

Looking good. Are those animations (on the bottom line) available?
-
These aren't exactly what you're looking for, but they might help. They're photos from an Army Ranger taken at various times during the 80s. Link

I spotted this on another forum. It's a page from a SOCOM 2: US Navy SEALs strategy guide in the magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM). It's a picture of Russian soldiers holding copies of SOCOM 2, which were photoshopped in. The source picture is of Russian soldiers holding pictures of fallen comrades who died in Chechnya. Walagata is pretty good. (If the living arangement with Tex falls through. Â )
