Thats an Early Abrams with a huge 80's radio in it.

The ones they use now are much smaller and 2 of them fit into that slot where the one did.
The commander orders the people on how to engage and opperate while he is also the eyes and ears of the tank.
The Crusaider was supposed to be an auto loading selfpropelled howitzer for the US but it's program never went threw do to costs.

Thought that M1 hull looks ok on the inside there are a few descrepencies on where things are located and such.
When It comes down to it a auto loader wasn't such a good idea for the US millitary and the M1 alltogether.
It's more reliable at one point than an auto loader, since electronics can fail.
The gunner controles the laser ranger on the Main gun and the coax but thats about all.
The commaders m2 can be opperated from inside via a camera and remote control. The loader loads the main gun and works anything else where they need an extra hand.
I think it's beter with a loader because you have 1 extra body to asist in service/protection.
Because with a Loader added to a crew and driveing threw a city, the loader can cover the left. The commander can cover the right and they still can use the 120mm Smothe bore main gun or the 7.62 coax.
But the M1a1 is not the M1a2 which we currently use, though some un upgraded M1a1's still exist.
So you'll definitly run into some ereas that don't over lap.

BTW a Abrams stoping going at 20 MPH on mudy terain suddenly stoping, causes it to really Jerk the back end around.
The DKM Script really doesn't do the weight/power/breaks of a tank or atleast the M1 justice.

The loader mans the com stations and loads + can act as gunner if the real guner gets hit. Â
Esentaly he would speed up the process and would add realisum to an alread realistic game.

He also mans the External Machine gun on left side and the commanders M2 is remotely controled unless unlocked for manual use.
Poor gunner is always inside for the most part. Â

*Edit* TRVS or Tank Recovery Vehicles are also in order.

And a proper tank carrier tractor trailer.

Isn't that the one that was the lowest profile russian tank?

Still a nice peice of equipment.

This can be done with the OFP we have with fixed hair.
Idno though my hair is kept extremely short any way so ermmm, and most marines don't have much hair any way. (No offence marines.)
*edit* I'm not a marine.
Umm hmmm interchanable heads would be good for OFP 2

-
I usealy have an equal balance of fire power on my team, Generaly I do soft probes with all scilenced weapon, then if things heat up I'll have my gunner empty his magazines on the town/camp.
Depending entirely on each situation, Stealth and dynamic movement is required both in the same mission.

-
Well thank's for the support.
One thing on the polly count, it depends almost entirely on the texture cut out sheet being applied. (If it will lag or not.)
My beta tester one of which who used a laptop for this said he had no lag on the M249 which is my only gun 6000 pollys, the rest maintain about 2,500-3,000 pollys.
All of which, I (Old computer like 3 years old and low end back then.) beta testers (From middle to brand new computers), had no problems with lag with the eception I did encounter a bit of stickyness with 32 SAW gunners in a huge group.

I think we all need to ermm max OFP out so BIS will see whats expected of OFP2

-
Duno what Kind of responses I'll get if any, but last time I'll ask.
Once again, I am asking for a texture artist. I have these models sitting
on my HD waiting for some one to texture in a joint effort with DSA.
There's not much to do, just a few family bases and an acessory pack.
Added thus far to the ever growing list is.
MP7 PDW
UMP 45
11-87 Police entry shotgun
Not allot of speical happenings other than I have redone the models, and added a few more.
The models have been for the most part retouched by the way.
While I wait for a texture artist, only the SOCOM and the g36 are left in line for that.
The rest is ready to go for skining.
I shouldn't have to Scream about the high polly count anymore,
most of you know thats just my work.
And as for lag my beta testers nearly hung me because my 6,000 polly SAW does not lag.
I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but soon
it will break and you won't have to listen any more.
Thats allot of work to just throw out after all.

-
Isn't that supposed to be a classified question?

Still Anything up to around 5,500 will not lag if done correctly in the texture layout..

By the way, the SEALs will be replacing the M60/MK43 by the Mk48 Mod 0, that's basically a Mk46/M349 in 7,62mmx51 NATO caliber:(klick for larger image)
They have the option to use that but under the newer programs the US Army wants all one caliber, and the MK43 and the MK46 are two difernt units to my knowledge.

The M60e4 Is the more popular version of the M60e3, notice the forgrips are difernt among other things?
As for the M240 you are right I just didn't want to go threw all the work of finding that model.
Us Army needs everything with a barrel shroud so noobs don't burnthemselves too badly.
But for SOF units and certain other units, it's all down to opperator preference.

-
However I believe the Navy SEALs are still using the M60 but as a squad automatic weapon. ÂPersonally I have no idea why they replaced the M60 with a weapon of the same caliber ammo (7.62mmX51mm) that is much heavier other then to have more compatibility with NATO and because the weapon has already been in wide use in US military armored vehicles as a coaxial weapon.
The MK 46 Mod O is the SEALS new Machinegun, under new government programs the M60e3 is no longer ishued and has not been since 01' what you see left of the M60's are leftovers which will fill service time untill they fail and then be replaced by the M240 or M249 or MK46 MOD 0.
As always US Special forces may request to use the M60e3 but few do any more, with it being heavier then the MK46 and a different caliber, it is not so popular any more.
After all the M249 and Mk46 Mod 0 can be belt fed from soft or hard boxes either 100 or 200 rounds, belt fed, M16 mag fed, and C-mag fed. Since it uses a unifed 5.56 caliber it only makes sence to take advantage of it.
Just so we know what everything is. (Please note these are the TRUE basees of each weapons family anything extra or modified that you have seen on one of these is a MOD and is in the family but not the parrent.)
MK46 MOD 0

M249 SAW

M240 Heavy Support Weapon.

M60e3

But to answer your question. The US has OFW (Objective Force Warrior) and OLW (Objective Land Warrior) Under which we will be feilding new weapons the only reason you're seening allot of M60's is because we are useing the last of them in the gulf before we retitre them complreately.
Sort of a "Most Bang For your buck" case.
But I've noticed allot of M240's M249's creaping up in pictures in News Week and such in the hands of troops. Which in my oppinion is good.

Do some marine snipers use the M82 barret anti-material rifle, or is this more disinformation I have got from the movies? If not, does anyone know which forces do use the big fifty?
USMC Snipers use the M82a3, usealy only for long range shots to disable vehicles and EOD jobs. It's not that bad of a rifle on people though.
(I don't know that it works well on people I'm jsut assumeing that.)
-
Also fully automatic shotgun support would be nice. Like for the HK CAWs shotgun, SPAS12 and pancor jackhammer drums along with USAS12 "Street Sweeper" magazines.
Thats it for now.

I would like some help knowing how to config an attach anim. Like a grenade being thrown. I know how to change the defualtanim off, but what I need to know is how do I confing my RTM file into the proper animation class so I can put it in the line simulation= "shotshell"; and replace shot shell with my anim so he does our anim instead of shot shell.
Now don't say it's harde coded and you can't change it. This is a bulet he's fireing and it looks like he's chucking a grenade.
But I want him to use OUR grenade anim instead of the BIS one. Thiers a line in the ammo that looks like this
simulation= "shotshell";
Thing is the simulation anim has to be configed. I need the config for a "simulaion" so he uses our genade anim instead of the BIS one.
Thanks

Of topic but on topic. AND DON'T FLAME ME THIS TIME.

While I was DL some new addons I found that JAM doesn have these types of ammo. Would be nice to have them
because JAM is such a Godsend.
OICW ammo
45 SMG ammo
40 S&W SMG ammo
Glock 21 ammo (Full auto)
HK P11 ammo*
UAR ammo*
*(Despite the fact we can't fire guns under water.)

10mm SMG ammo
MM-1 Cylinders
.22 rim fire
Possibly some WWII ammo like brit .303
and 30 cal.
Thats about if for now.
Thanks. -Drill Sergeant

No actualy thats from SOF II and all the guns in his weapon pack are from CS. Read the read me please and give credit where do. (The SOCOM is from CS too.)

@ bmgarcangel
The OICW calculates the distace to the fox hole for you and the 20mm airburst was orrigonaly designed to shoot around corners. The fox hole thing came allong a little later in the desing as a selling point.

Nothing worth reading here from me. Apperently.

I might be wrong but a quick Google Images search for "enstrom 480" hasn't returned any enstrom 480's with wheels...I don't want to fight with you man. I've been in every type of Enstrom they build.
They (480b's) have ground handling wheels. Which are stowed in the engine compartment. Just like I said they'd be a hidden selection.
"Fasten ground handling wheels."
Than let he players be able to tow it.
So I'm gona try putting it on my bird. Here's a link so you can see the one model. (Needs new textures.)
http://drillsergeantsaddons.4t.com/DSA_SITE.htmlIf I may quote directly from the 1995 version of the manual I have.
"Ground handling wheels. A set of ground handling wheels is provided for moveing the aircraft on the ground. The handling wheels attach to lugs near the aft oleo struts. THE WHEELS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE FLIGHT."

-
Actualy. one thing. once we fold the blades up.
How do we pull our birds into the sheds?

I'm makeing an Enstrom 480 and my dad sugjested I put the ground handling wheels on it so you can make a scrip so you could pull it. But I can't script.

@ Avon. This is a compliment. You and Ace are always wishing for VBS stuff.
But it ain't gona happen. (*Sigh*)I'd make a whole set of quality female soldiers but I don't have the BIS res female model so. Scrap that.
Anyone want to help me and write a script so we can Pull my 480 into the shed?

-
class Default {};
class Binocular : Default{};
class tactical_binocular: Binocular
Try useing that.

Look at the smilie, pretend I never posted. Â

(Wrond thread.)

Yep, I never could understand why people liked them. I hate Xp but I hate apples more.
As for your problem thats to bad to hear about it, nothing as fun as fraggin, but when it locks up it's a pain. Also have you tried useing a system restore under the start menu to revert any regestry changes?
-
All I'd like to say is. Almost all of  these have been tried a long time ago and were flamed to death.
Finaly FINALY they have resurected and we can have them and help build them. So I'm all for it and If I can help I will.

Look out BIS, we might make OFP 1 surpas OFP 2.

-
Actualy script wise I think it's possible but only in cut scenes.

Real tanking in ofp possible?
in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION

That sums it up right there. Â
US army the driver is the lowest.
Commander, Gunner,Loader, Driver Â
The loader is trainded to opperate the main gun in the event the gunner is killed/incapacitated.
What would be nice in OFP2 is like if there were multiple gunner points so the Commander and loader can use their mgs externaly.
