Just FYI to those interested, heard Demo is coming out tomarrow (friday)
-
Tis' a sad day. Was really looking forward to some of their work in progress.

I've never seen C actually work, as much as people whine about it. A soldier jumping into the air and spinning around with any weapon will acheive nothing. In fact, he just gave me an opportunity to hit him with everything I have. Really, I've never seen that work....anywhere. Never in small rooms, and most certainly never in the streets or fields.
-
I used to play it alot. Bu I kinda lost touch with the whole World War 2 theme after awhile. Didn't really interest me.

Oh wow, like I havn't heard this before. I don't care about realism, the fligth dynamics, the physics model, the ability to point and click my navigational waypoints on my airplanes flight navigational system or some such. That's why there are games like Operation Flashpoint, IL2, LockOn and so on. When I feel like jumping into a more realistic and dynamic model for a game, I'll play one of those. I have IL2 and OFP on my computer, as well as BFV Doom3 and HL2. Though, the lack of COOP is upsetting. Me and my brother play BFV together alot. A little fun never hurt, and it's a game I'm looking forward to getting. As well as OFP2, and other games.

Hmm..GRU...can make Metal Gear Flashpoint missions  Anyways, these are awsome add-ons. I'm just wondering, which GRU or other guy as both the hood and the face mask on? Can't seem to find him. Also, can someone tell me what roles GRU and RFMI often play in combat? I mean, SOBR looks like an urban task force, but I'm not sure about any of them. -
AFAIK, Canada has had a ban like this for a long time. In resturaunts, it makes sense. But Bars, I dunno. If it's like a pub or a resturaunt with a bar, then I'd say no since the smoke would still reach people or their food.

I am not old enough to use a Credit Card or other internet means of payment, otherwise there is no money from me. No CD No DVD No money.

Pat Tillman's death a result of Friendly Fire?

Also check your texture resolution settings in the Flashpoint preferences launcher. I had lots of blurring problems with the Operation Frenchpoint mod until I realized that my texture resolutions were too low.

I think it's somewhat difficult to say. I'm largely guessing that the commander simply underestimated the strength of the storm, maybe not even knowing how powerful it can get in the first place. As well, weather stations could have given wrongful estimations, which lead to the situation.

"Though darkness be rent by noise and flame, let not the souls of men be taken in the crucible of war." -Imperial Armour "Victory is acheived through mettle. Glory is acheived through metal." -Imperial Armour Considering it's from WH40k, it might not fit the realistic selection of deathcam quotes. But overall, in the WH books there are many I think would fit the modern war theme quite well. Especially in the Imperial Guard books. Otherwise, there are always the war poets. "What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? -- Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle" -Wilfed Owen, Anthem for Doomed Youth "Sombre the night is. And though we have our lives, we know What sinister threat lurks there." Isaac Rosenburg, Returning We Hear the Larks Could always pull a couple out of 'Dead Mans Dump" as well. http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/ltg/projects/jtap/tutorials/intro/rose/#larks Part of Exposure by Owen: “Therefore, not lath, we lie out here: therefore were born, For love of God seems dying. To-night, His frost will fasten on this mud and us, Shriveling many hands, puckering foreheads crisp” – Wilfred E.S. Owen, Exposure Probobly find a better one, that's from an essay I did for class. One from a German war poet, whose name I do not know: "Argonne Forest, Argonne Forest, Soon thou willt be a quiet cemetary. In thy cool earth rests much gallant soldiers' blood." (http://www.worldwar1.com/sfgp1e.htm) I can find more when time allows me to.

Zombies! I love zombie movies! I have all the Romero movies, plus the remake of Dawn. I hope there's as much carnage in this one as the others. It seems that he's building up alot on the intellegent zombie theory presented in Day. One was using a Aug, and a blog I read of a zombie extra showed that they were using tools primitivly to knock down windows etc.

OFP2 and "armed assault" - what's up?
DracoPaladore replied to Cpt. FrostBite's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Oh, so this organisational type of game joining and set up is the reason why I have to wait 30 minutes (again) just to play a match with people I like because my connection crapped out? I don't care who it brings out, I just want join in progress. If people are so afraid of the 'unwanted types' (Oh noes!), then just set up a friggen password. -
Twilight might have been too soft a word. Anyways, he'd already done a Nigh movie.

I'm looking at the game and see some good reviews, but I always second guess them as it could be a sort of first impression look at the game itself (considering also reviewers spend as much time as they can just getting the game done quickly to write). Just wondering if it's any good. I looked for a demo, but unfortunatly the only one avaliable at all is in German.

Heh, highly doubtable for hundreds of reasons, the first being sheer ignorance. I doubt half the developers know how to spell "Canadian", let alone try to represent them in a game. Not to mention the hundreds of kiddies going "OMGWTF WHO CREZ BOUT CANOOKS DEY NEVR FAOGT OMG PUT MORE AMRCANS IN OMG1111!!!" I know EA tried that once with Battlefield 1942 map released in a patch. Ended up with this horrible mess in the form of a 'tribute'.

It was pretty foggy, and I think it was on Everon. There was a water beach head shaped in a wide U . There was a gas station, a small town, bushes. Someone with a Russian rifle, not sure which one, was nailing everyone in the spawn. Really annoying stuff, we couldn't do anything. Me and another guy spawned and I ran forward and hit the dirt near a bush. The other guy was smacked in the head with a bullet. So, using my G36, I followed the green tracer to it's source and fired a single shot. One of those one-in-a million ub3r shots taht just happen to kill the guy. I was left stunned, and wasn't sure if I had some sort of auto-aim going.

My living spot If you can zoom in, you'll notice the school. I live with the fence against the parking lot. God I love being so close to school.

Maximum Overdrive: OFP *corpse lying on floor, wires strapped on body. Corpse is fried, sizzling, and has greyish black smoke rising from its twisted form*

"Oh no! 1 is...down!" #8 cried out, crawling across the flat green field. A PK round blurts out from a head and kills the man next to him instantly. "Oh no, 4 is down!" Without notice, a small group of trees are knocked down from a slow moving Abrams. The large machine turns its turret at a break neck speed and locks its barrel at the machine gunner ahead. Even though the tank is about to blow him away, he continues with the stream of green hail that continues to hit other soldiers with laser accuracy. There is a large boom, and the tank shells collides with the earth right in front of the machine gunner. His body is thrown into the air, stiff and unmoving with gun hovering by hand. He lands unseen in the distance. #8 could see several soldiers ahead. One kneels and pulls a weapon out from behind, but shoots before he could properly mount it on his shoulder. The explosive smashes into the dirt at his feet and send him sky rocketing. A second was able to hold the launcher, but had vaporized himself when he fired straight into a tree in front of him. A third was able to fire his rocket, the RPG round screaming out ahead and smashes into the Abrams almost instantly, the entire tank turning black as two more hit it seconds later. A final RPG round his the deadly tank, crumpling it into a jagged mess of paper before brewing up. #8 ran as fast as he could, but the roaring explosion launches him several feet ahead. "#6, supporting." He hears over his radio. #8 lay in the dirt, crawling as fast as he can. A medic, his friend #6, appears from behind the bushes and kneels next to him. Within seconds, #8 gets back up with all of his wounds healed. "#6 waiting." The medic blurts before #8 can let out a reply. #8 Ran away, and never returned to Nogova ever again. He saw the horrors of war, his fellow numbers twisted and ruined in their large reddish shapes, the paper tanks burning away, the low hiss of jets, which were forever embedded in his mind. He couldn't live with it any more.

Right now that's a huge issue on the Gbox forums. Aim and hitbox arguments.
-
Maybe so, but the game is limited in that sense. Not to mention that you're not really taking the role of a commander, but also a squad leader, tank platoon leader, and all units as you can directly command them. I could understand if you were given the view of each squad/leader of a group or vehicle, but given a single view of a single person is somewhat odd considering the amount of control you're given.
-
That's kinda odd, really. Wouldn't a commander have a map to look upon, a radio to give directions, and a way to gain a situational report from another officer? In that way, isn't CM realistic enough?
